seal 0
RVP and Modric was unsettled and we didn't do nothing to sign them...really disappointed. With £25 mil or something like that man utd have become more dangerous than us. We seriously need some estabilished players now or it won't be easy for us the next season. We cannot rely on young talents only, they give us no guarantee and moreover i don't think our starting XI will be much different from last year (the main difference is a certain didier drogba missing).Don't start insulting me for my pessimism, i'm just exposing my ideas.Anyway with the move of RVP to manchester we need even more some new players (i think 3):-a striker (if fernando gets injured we'll be in serious troubles);-an RB like azpilicueta;-a midfielder (i would try to outbid real madrid for modric). Madmax 9,219
Makes me happy United have spent a considerable sum on what is already a bit of a luxury area for them.
Peace. 4,352
RVP to United is hilarious; they don't need more goalscorers, they need help in the midfield.I get the feeling this is a PR buy. Of course the addition of a player like Van Persie will improve their squad, but he will be redundant and, it seems to be a luxury purchase since Manchester United has already quality strikers. But, their economic situation tends to get worse (or at least, it doesn't get better). Their owners are hated, among ManU fans, because of this. They are even more hated now that they stole half of the money that United got from the bourse. So I suspect that this buy is like a gift to calm down the fans (a bit in the same fashion of what Ferguson did some weeks ago, i.e. telling to medias that the Glazers were great owners). And also to show that they are still a force on the transfert market and can attract world class players/talents (especially after Hazard and Lucas turned them down). For the past few seasons Ferguson has turned to securing young players with the potential to be stars one day. Breaking his self imposed restrictions for a 29 year old who costs a fair bit upfront in addition to his monumental wages (I've read ~200k floating about) on an area of the pitch they're already well stocked in seems a bit daft at first glance. Then again, they've been after him for a good month now, so he must have an idea in his head about how he's going to pack all those attacking talents into one team. Nevertheless the thought that they could have used this money for addressing the pressing need of a midfield orchestrator but chose not to gladdens me no end. Spike 12,049
Fuck, United are favorites for the title next season...De GeaRafael - Ferdinand - Vidic - EvraValencia - Kagawa - Fletcher - NaniRooneyVan PersieKagawa is a Secondary Striker, so playing him in the midfield would be insane! Take Kagawa out and replace him with Carrick and you have yourself a much more stable and balanced team. And personally I would choose Kagawa over Nani. I feel Nani is more talented but he is very hit and miss.
capriccioso 2,545
Think they've panicked considering City's rise. That would be the root of it, I still think the Ibrahimovic transfer by Barcelona was a direct response to Kaka, Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso etc. being signed by Madrid.
