I really enjoyed reading that.

I've noticed that the official CFC website + Twitter account have become a lot more active, 'friendly' in a way and more 'human' feeling (no idea if that'll make sense or not.)

True! They have been coming up with some real decent stuff of late.

Another post on the official website:

MY FIRST DAY: PART THREE

The first day in any new workplace can often be a daunting one, but how does it feel when you join a top, Premier League football club?

With players returning to Cobham later this week for the start of pre-season training, the official Chelsea website asks members of our squad to take a stroll down memory lane and recall how they felt on their very first day as a Chelsea player.

BRANISLAV IVANOVIC

On my first day I just remember being very confused, I can't recall too much about it actually. Avram Grant was the manager, I met him when I signed and I remember meeting all of the players for the first time which was really nice.

I can also remember my debut; it was a 4-0 win away at Portsmouth in the Carling Cup and I played the full 90 minutes. It was a memorable game for me, I felt a bit strange because I'd been at the club for a long time without playing, but it was still very nice to finally be a part of everything.

ROMELU LUKAKU

I came in and spoke directly with Jose Bosingwa firstly because he's Congolese as well, so we speak the same language. The next person I met was Patrick van Aanholt. After that I met Didier Drogba and did some training; if I remember rightly we were working on our finishing.

I then went home with Bosingwa and stayed with him and his family for a couple of weeks. Now I'm very close to him because he looked after me when I first arrived which I really appreciated, as well as Florent Malouda and Didier Drogba, who were both also very helpful.

PAULO FERREIRA

I was on my holidays after Euro' 2004, then I came to Harlington and met Jose [Mourinho], who I obviously already knew, and to have a look at the facilities. Then I went to Stamford Bridge to sign the contract before going back to my holiday.

Yes, it's more fan friendly, also YouTube channel with their "Unseen" videos. I like this.

I wish chelsea tv could post content like man city does there channel is really top class. I'd love to see inside the clubs more often and get to know the players more off the pitch hopefully we see some good content from pre season.

"I was injured pretty much as soon as I joined the club and it's been the same ever since!"

Poor Hutch, I really hope he will stay healthy and become a part of our defence in the future. Why not wearing the armband too!

MY FIRST DAY: PART FOUR

PETR CECH

I arrived at Gatwick and was driven to the hotel at Chelsea Village. I was taken to Harlington, which I was amazed at, because I didn't expect it to be the way it was. I spoke briefly with Jose Mourinho and various members of the staff.

Some of the players were away on international duty. I arrived, and then a few of the Portuguese boys like Paulo Ferreira arrived shortly after, there were also a lot of youth and reserve players around at the time.

GARY CAHILL

My first day was down here at Cobham. My abiding memory was having to go through a tunnel of players as they kicked and punched me; I think they call it the tunnel of beats, that was the first day.

I remember going out to training and having a chat with all of the English boys who I knew before I joined. I thought it was just going to be a normal training session, and then they all told me I had to go through the tunnel, so that was a bit of a shock, but there wasn't much I could do about it.

MY FIRST DAY: PART FIVE

JOHN TERRY

I was very nervous. I remember walking in and knowing the other guys having played on schoolboy forms with them already. We were delegated our duties for the year and mine were to clean three first-team dressing rooms at the training ground and I was on the kit as well for matchdays. I also had to clean three players' boots and I got Dennis Wise, Dave Lee and Eddie Newton. The first day's training wasn't much, a light jog and some tests.

RYAN BERTRAND

The first thing I remember was walking in here and meeting Jose Mourinho. It was a bit crazy and surreal, especially as I was only 15 years old. To go from being in awe of the players at Gillingham to coming here was unbelievable. Mourinho was fantastic to me as well, he welcomed me and treated me in exactly the same way as the first team regulars, he was a top man and that helped.

ROSS TURNBULL

I just remember meeting everybody, it was my first move as a player so it was quite a big deal and a completely new experience, plus I was moving down from Middlesbrough to London. John Terry was the first player I met; with him being the captain, he obviously explained that if there was anything I needed just to give him a call, but everybody was helpful and made me feel welcome which is always really nice.

I dont think the boot cleaning tradition is anymore there now with the new generation specially after the influx of money in modern day football. Those were the days when the juniors actually respected the seniors.
