This. Neymar is nowhere near these guys, let alone Messi & Ronaldo. Reus and Bale are significantly better than him.

Don't forget Zlatan on that list. And .....Suarez.

I was just talking about wide players alone though.

Anyway, this entire conversation is becoming boring and it all stemmed from the "usual suspect" poster or two spouting their usual nonsense disguised as an opinion.

I really must be missing something about Bale because I just don't rate him that highly. He's an exceptional athlete with a good shot, but I consider him a supremely average footballer.

He's a very average footballer yes. Terrible in tight spaces, average passer, average ball control, not a great dribbler & very one-footed.

Bale is basically Theo Walcott on drugs.

That's exactly how I used to think of him, until I watched last CL final.

Unsurprisingly enough Ronaldo vanished and Bale was the player who made a difference. Yes, he missed an opportunity before equalizing, but kudos to him that he kept on trying.

Bale is younger too and it was his first season in Spain. I don't think this is the best we are going to see from him..

:carlo: What ? He was poor in the CL final. he scored the goal but apart from that he didn't do much. The goal wasn't even a quality run or shot it was just a rebound.

Dimaria and Modric were the ones who made the difference.

This goes back to personal preferences and all...

But you can't say he only scored the goal... without that goal, which was hardly a tap in, they lose. In a low scoring game like football, scoring a goal, especially a difficult one, is huge! Which makes the players who can do that on their own, like Messi, invaluable.

Neymar is the 2nd most talented player in the World. The kid has no weaknesses at all.

Is hating Neymar still a thing? Especially after last years Confederations Cup and the World Cup he's currently having?

balotelli disagrees with you.

Personally, I dont think neymar is even the most talented young brazilian, its Thiago.

Exactly. He was probably the worst player on the pitch before that tap in.

I watched the final too and didn't think Bale did anything particularly special. Di Maria was the best attacking player on the pitch by miles. I really don't want to sound like a hater but I just think he's a limited player.

He was (Di Maria), but without Bale, RM loses all the same.

Scoring the goal is something "special." Nothing else counts in football.

Scoring doesn't elevate his general performance. See that's the problem. Hazard can have a very good game without scoring and people will say he doesn't score enough, needs to shoot more etc. Bale has a terrible game but scores a goal and it's excused. What happens when the goals dry up?
