This story is like the "Charilaos prem" we used to have.
Who was Charilaos and what was his "prem" ?
Charilaos (Florakis) was the leader of the Greek communist party.
The "prem" was a small percentage he was gifting to the socialists knowing that the Communist Party could never win an election.
New Democracy knowing this was trying to avert it by being as nice to the commies as they possibly could.
They stopped calling them names and things like that.
So it's the same story.
Now what most people here don't like is the law allowing adoption of infants not prevention of discrimination.

Greek coastguard threw migrants overboard to their deaths

 

The Greek coastguard has caused the deaths of dozens of migrants in the Mediterranean over a three-year period, witnesses say, including nine who were deliberately thrown into the water.

The nine are among more than 40 people alleged to have died as a result of being forced out of Greek territorial waters, or taken back out to sea after reaching Greek islands, BBC analysis has found.

The Greek coastguard told our investigation it strongly rejects all accusations of illegal activities.

We showed footage of 12 people being loaded into a Greek coastguard boat, and then abandoned on a dinghy, to a former senior Greek coastguard officer. When he got up from his chair, and with his mic still on, he said it was "obviously illegal" and "an international crime".

In five of the incidents, migrants said they were thrown directly into the sea by the Greek authorities. In four of those cases they explained how they had landed on Greek islands but were hunted down. In several other incidents, migrants said they had been put onto inflatable rafts without motors which then deflated, or appeared to have been punctured.

Many of those migrants are Erdogan spies and they are lying.
Generally people who are pushed back also lie.
While we can't rule out that some coastguards behaved criminally, it's a dangerous business crossing the sea with inflatable rafts.
The pushbacks began you know when ? In 2016 by the Tsipras left wing government who invited the KFOR force as well. Before that there was no KFOR.
Of course I never quite understood why saving a man at sea means we also give him immigrant status.
I don't understand it in the case of the St. Louis either, when the Americans refused to let it sail to port. Those Jews could have been just temporarily sheltered.

The "witnesses" are not dead and most of them are Erdogan propaganda.
I don't deny the possibility, there are golden dawny civils ervants out and about.
Among the judiciary first and foremost.
But in my case I phoned one of the top Syriza lawyers, ms Chryssa Papadopoulos, unbeknownst to my family who wanted me to have a certain other lawyer.
This woman was in the big trial of the golden dawn leadership and she has published a book as well "how I defeated the golden dawn".
I says to her "this is a such and such case - but so as not to keep you 20-30 minutes on the phone to relate to you the whole story, I 'd like an appointment".
She says "ok I will call you in a few days",
The few days pass - no phonecall. I attempt to call back twice, no response.
What happened ? She found out I 'm not Syriza obviously.
Syriza and the left wanted golden dawn to grow big and kill more people so as to start a civil war.
I phoned her again on Saturday and asked her just for the record. Very hostile.

The programme about the murders is on National TV. The witnesses are other Sudanese and African people. Maybe they are Erdogan sympathisers, and the video of people being thrown in the sea by Greeks is faked by the communists eh ?

I said it's not impossible.
But in most cases these things are not true and the traffickers are Turks so they find "witnesses".
There are many boats in the Aegean. The Aegean is not like the Britiish sea north of Scotland. It's traffickers route.
