Who's Realistically Ready to Step Up?

Thibaut certainly is, though it'll take something spectacular to dislodge Cech.

Lukaku I'm not sold on, Bertrand probably is on the cusp of being first team ready, while Piazon, Feruz, McEachran, Kakuta etc. are nowhere near the levels needed to play 50+ games a season. If we don't retain Drogba, we should farm Romelu off on loan somewhere.

No-one is expecting the likes of McEachran, Kakuta to play 50+ games a season. As long as they get Fa Cup/League Cup games, the odd start in the EPL (against weaker teams) & some minutes off the bench when we look comfortable...that should help them integrate with the first team..and who knows, in 2-3 seasons time, they might be ready to start fighting for a regular spot in the first team.

I agree with Piazon & Feruz not being ready for the first team. Piazon needs a loan spell in a competitive european league & Feruz is only 16, hope we nurture this kid properly, he looks like the real deal.

I don't even know why Feruz is being suggested. Currently he is still classed as a schoolboy, he's not even a first year scholar yet.

Flavour of the time. Not without basis though, he looks a brilliant prospect, but his time is not now.

Feruz would of been competing for a squad place at Celtic this season if he had stayed, but maybe he needs more time with the reserves and youth team. Cracking prospect though, could be the best player to come out of Scotland for a while, in fact the best to come out of Scotland since Dalglish. Yet again maybe not though. Just looks incredibly likely he will be one of the best players out of Scotland for years yet.
