Gaël Kakuta

Just watched the first half of Brest - Dijon. Kakuta played as a supporting striker, switching position with striker Thil quite often. Dijon were very sloppy and Kakuta was pretty much anonymous the first 30 min. Saw more of the ball in the last 15 min.

The good:

- Played a good cross in from the left but it was slightly too high, therefore the striker couldn't connect well enough with his head.

- Did well to move away from the defender, received the pass and had a great opportunity to score but the shot went over the goal, really should've scored though.

- He took a free kick from pretty close range. It was a great curling attempt but it hit the post.

The bad:

- His touch failed him a few times, needs to work on that

- Should've done much better to make himself available for a pass. Dijon were struggling to keep the ball but most of the time Kakuta was either static or was looking to receive a through ball behind the defence.

- Should work on keeping things simple and needs to think more. Too focused on finding a way to the goal quickly and was holding on the ball too much.

Will watch the second half later.

Terrible half of football. Djion lost the ball so much and didn't create a thing. The few times Kakuta got on the ball, and I mean few, he was looking to combine but he never got the ball back. Dijon are a side with 11 individuals really, no team work or idea behind their play at all. Kakuta scored a goal out of nothing thanks to his individual ability and good awareness.

He was taken off after 80 min.

I didn't see the match. But according to l'Équipe, he played from the 65th minutes. He seems to have had two or three good moments.

65th? I watched the match till the 70th min...must've missed it when he came on. Thanks for correcting.

it's something strange about him, he never disappoints and moreoften than not has 3 or 4 glorious moments in his games... take his time at fullham, where he scored a great goal and was they're best man on the pitch a few time, noteably against ManU at old Trafford....

maybe its really some disciplinary thing... or what I think is more the case... he is too shy and quite off the pitch and on it too... just watch him.... hes the kind of player i really like he plays well sometimes great but stays at the ground and keeps his mouth shutted up.... but this players seem to have no feature...
