capriccioso 2,545
I really want to try Indian food. Any comments on it?It's great stuff, but it can be a bit overwhelming on the first few times you eat it. Probably best to start off with mild/smaller portions. As for my favourite, I like to keep it simple with barbecqued lamb:Also, this is very low browed and highly unsophisticated of me, but I would go to Mars and back for a tuna sandwich with this in it:

capriccioso 2,545
What about international drinks? I quite like this beer we have, I don't think its sold overseas:And it spawned what must be the greatest advertisement of all time:

At least you don't drink XXXX or VB.My favourite beers are Heineken and Toohey's Extra Dry. But yes, that was a great ad but it doesn't beat Toohey's penchant for the insane or any Heineken ads. The best I've seen from Toohey's was the beer economy ads, they were quite funny (or maybe I was just 15). I will rep you for that as soon as I'm permitted to.I've never tried Toohey's New/Old/others. Is it really good? Crown is pretty good as well. But I suppose it all comes down to individual taste. I loathe VB and Hahn, and you loathe Carlton Draught. There are heaps of brands I've never tried, though. Maybe I'll find something other than Carlton Draught, but I doubt it

It is a lager by the way.I actually havn't tried Carlton Draught only Carlton Midstrength which is terrible...
CHOULO19 24,332
One of the most popular Lebanese alchoholic drinks is called "Arak". It is clear liquid like:which you mix with a small amount of water to get:and enjoy At first its a bit strong, but once you're used it, it's likely to become your favorite drink. capriccioso 2,545
I might try that one day, if its not too expensive. Is it exported worldwide?
CHOULO19 24,332
I might try that one day, if its not too expensive. Is it exported worldwide? Here in Lebanon it is fairly cheap (20 or 30$ a bottle which makes a lot of glasses since you mix it with water) but the price will naturally be more in australia. It is exported to all over the world, I made quick google search and apparantly the Porter Liquor store sells Arak in Sydney. The best Lebanese Arak is from Kefraya or Ksara. Spike 12,049
I might try that one day, if its not too expensive. Is it exported worldwide?$30-$70 (Australian) at Dan Murphy's. The Kefraya Arak CHOULO19 recommended is $67.I may just buy a bottle thanks!CHOULO19 I have never drank Arak but the preperation method seems to be similar to Absinthe, are they similar in any way? capriccioso 2,545
67 is pretty steep for just 1 bottle.. I can get 2 bottles of Smirnoff for just $5 more than that. Which is my favorite spirit, btw.I might try this one day though, if I get a job soon and there's a special occasion coming up

capriccioso 2,545
Why ????Edit: was referring to FB's post.yeah I understand. in general beef is not very much appreciated in India I wouldn't know about that, I've only been to Sri Lanka once and India twice. And we're Catholic anyway, as I understand, religion has something to do with it in India.
CHOULO19 24,332
CHOULO19 I have never drank Arak but the preperation method seems to be similar to Absinthe, are they similar in any way?Well they are both highly-alchoholic anis drinks, but Absinthe is traditionally prepared from a distillation of neutral alcohol, various herbs, and water while Arak is made from white grapes. I have never tried Abesinthe but I imagine the tastes differ due to the diference in the ingredients.
