laeth 527
Not "big" news but disgusting behaviour which is absolutly needless because of our youth-system. If they progress well they will be loaned out to 6 clubs in 5 countrys and will be sold in the end back to LutonThis is normal? Isn't disgusting in the slightest, jeez. Idiot 71
This is normal? Isn't disgusting in the slightest, jeez.Hm, seems like we have totally different moral concepts. Only because its normal it doesnt legitimises questionable behaviour. In the occident we praise ourselves because of our go-ahead society but we tolerate child trafficking at the same time .Sounds like double standards to me. eldo 868
Still, the kids will have to move away from all their friends and kids their age have to be living in an incact surroundings, containing a true home. Don't know if moving to another city is that good for them... even it isn't far away from their old home town. And why not? Barca are doing just that with their La Masia and get all the praise.Them being here means more coaching hours, more chances to become better. eldo 868
So if they are also doing that shit, it makes the whole situation alright?Nobody forced them.Academies are awarded points, and there's a difference between Chelsea and Luton.
Madmax 9,219
So if they are also doing that shit, it makes the whole situation alright? There's no 'situation' here. Nobody kidnapped them at gunpoint. It's a career decision. Moreover, such deals usually involve parents being offered residences near the club to smoothen the transition process. They aren't going to be left all alone outside Cobham after training

laeth 527
Accepting money to make profit our of their own children isn't what I call "okay".Accepting money? The kids obviously love football, that is why all three are playing it at a high level. Jeez, you'd think they were being captured and flown abroad to dig diamonds or something. They are getting to play football for Chelsea!
Peace. 4,352
Accepting money to make profit our of their own children isn't what I call "okay".This is an opportunity for their kids to play in one of the best and one of the most modern academy of this country. Every parents out there would love this happening for their own kid(s). Wouldn't your parents be happy if the best University of your country would come knock to your to door in order to offer you a place in their ranks ? Liquidator 5,176
Meh its what Barcelona do all the time. They scout players from all over Catalonia which is far bigger than Greater London which is where our scouting network is mainly based. Some Barca players leave their parents at 16 and live at La Masia so we are hardly depriving them of a childhood like at Barcelona. Except what Barcelona do is teach the young players a distinct brand of football and only loan them out to clubs in the Catalonian region with which they have special links. We on the other hand will probably ship this lot over to Vitesse Arnhem ASAP where they will play 3 times and then rot in our youth and reserve ranks before buggering off back to Luton or a League 2 club. Gourlay won't care though because its all £££££ for the club.
zolayes 14,489
Chelsea fans are just a ray of sunshine aren't we?! Come on, cheer up people, we need a bit more optimism here. more a modicum of realism
Amblève. 4,995
God, these lads we are talking about are just kids! Parents should not just care about the children's future but also about the present! As I said, Idk if they'll move to London or if they will be commeting between Luton and London. What I wanted to say is that it's not good for a child if it has to leave its friends and surroundings where it has grown up!This is an opportunity for their kids to play in one of the best and one of the most modern academy of this country. Every parents out there would love this happening for their own kid(s). Wouldn't your parents be happy if the best University of your country would come knock to your to door in order to offer you a place in their ranks ?Sure, they would accept the offer, but it's not the same if a 17 years-old leaves his family and everything else to study somewhere miles away from home, or if a young kid at the age of 12/13 leaves everything behind him. CHOULO19 24,332
more a modicum of realismSeriously though, those kids are still 12, who knows what our club's policies would be like in about 8 years? I think we should have a bit more optimism.
