If you were Mourinho...

What would you do to beat Barca? What tactics would you employ and who would you bring in during the transfer windows?

Personally If I were Jose I would buy a DM and a CB. Firstly the DM IS Important IMO as Barca need to be nullified in midfield, and as such I would bring in a strong presence, someone like M'Villa or Yaya Toure. The CM area needs most strengthining IMO.

Next I would buy a world class CB, someone like Thiago Silva or Vidic. This would allow Ramos to play at RB and would strengthen tue defense alot.

Thirdly If I were Jose I would consider buying a Striker (and sell Higuain) someone like Suarez/Aguero or of course Neymar

I think Madrid are about 2-3 signings away from Barca. If some of the above players were bought I would play a 4-2-3-1

------------------------Neymar---------------

------Ronaldo---------Ozil---------Di Maria---

----------Alonso--------------Toure-----------

----Coentrao-----Silva---Pepe------Ramos

-----------------------Casillas-----------------

Beating Barcelona isn't as difficult in theory as people make it out to be. They like to play football at the back, so you simply pressure their defenders. They get very, very uncomfortable when they are being harried, and having tenacious players like Essien and Ramires would give them no end of nightmares. Mourinho is lucky because he has players like Diarra who are able to do similar jobs. He could also do with loaning Nigel de Jong so he can go and break Messi in half.

I will be more realistic with my team. I know for a fact that Mourinho doesn't want to sell or buy any players this Transfer Window.

4-3-3

ST: Benzema. He isn't a potent in front of goal as Higuian but has a better work rate and will help out the MF.

LW: Ronaldo

RW: Di Maria

CAM: Kaka. He isn't as good as Ozil but Ozil is very lazy and doesn't help the defence at all.

CM: Alosno

CDM: Pepe. He is a brilliant man marker and is needed more in the MF than in defence.

LB: Marcelo

CB: Ramos. Adds a lot of speed to the CB pairing and with Carvalho acting as a sweeper it would be an effective partnership.

CB Carvalho

RB: Arbeloa

High Pressure on the MF limiting movement and passing range.

The wingers need to take advantage of when the Barca Fullbacks are out of position.

Benzema needs to drop deep and be more of a threat creating and attacking.

Fullbacks need to buckle down and concentrate on defending to prevent Barca's Wingers destroying them.

Madrid really need a harder working CAM. Someone (but necessarily) like Prince-Boateng.

I think Madrid would be too open with 4-3-3. Actually Rooney would be a great option for what Madrid need

I think in terms of winning the league Madrid have got them, Barca will probally do the double over them but Madrid just seem a lot more motivated in the "lesser games" than Barcelona this season.

Seriously?? *Facepalms*

Great post. maybe you should become one of the greatest managers of the game?

Only a tactically disciplined squad can beat Barca. Ronaldo does not defend nor run without a ball forcing Real to defend against Barca with 10 men (a feat hard enough with 11 men). He also limits Real attacks to a great extent because every attack has to go through him even when a player like Ozil has a clear shot on goal he is required to pass to Ronaldo.

Besides, have you seen Ronaldo vs Barcelona? All he does is attemp to get past Alves or Puyol using the only trick he knows, losses the ball, dives on the ground, fixes his hair, then yells at everyone else.

People say that Alves doesn't defend but whenever he plays against Ronaldo, Alves looks like the best man marker in the world. I still remember the El Clasico where Ronaldo had to swap with Di Maria so he could play on the right, due to Alves giving him nightmares.

Actually when Ronaldo plays against Barcelona, he looks like an average player. So this is not the best argument lol. Because he shits in his pants, 'cause he is too much focused and troubled by this "Ronaldo Vs Messi" thing.

Point noted, but nonetheless Alves is a great defender when he has to be, it is just a fact that he doesn't have to defend very often in Barca's system.

Yep, I wasn't denying his defensive abilities. I agree with you, he is also a good defender. The only problem when he isn't with Barça, is that he plays like if he was with them - i.e. he attacks a lot - so he is a bit late to defend. Though people tend to think he is a poor defender because of that, which is untrue.
