They probably thought he was a Muslim in my opinion, imagine your family member being killed in a foreign country and you find out about it on Facebook. I know a lot of Asians because i'm a Muslim and most of my friends come from the sub continent from Pakistan and Bangladesh and this has just been devastating for everyone. I firmly blame the media for creating this Goebbels like propaganda against Muslims to stir hatred for us, Hindu's and Sikhs have been mistaken for Muslims in the past. The vast majority of Muslims in this country like myself just want to live a normal existence but the Goebbels like Media are making it tough. This type of shit just goes round in circles, first it was the Jews then the blacks now the Muslim, then the scapegoat will be someone else in 20 years time.

I don't think this was actually racially motivated. It's tempting to think so, considering every headline's subliminally implanting the "Indian student" mindset.
