I would recommend you don't.

It's basically an iPhone 4, with a new chip. Same model, same features, different chip. Just save some money and get the 4.

And even then, I recommend you get a HTC phone. Android > iOS.

I'm old school and have a blackberry with a roller ball that occasionally gets stuck.

My daughter had the iphone 3 (or whatever version it was). Dropped it a few times and broke something inside. Of course after the warranty expired but in the middle of the cell phone contract. Damn AT&T. Before she broke it though she loved the phone. I just couldn't get the hang of touch texting.

Long story and switched to Verizon and got the Samsung Fascinate. Daughter who has the phone glued to her hand (texting, facebook, etc) absolutely hates the Samsung Fascinate. Freezes constantly, sends texts to random people, doesn't receive texts. Crap phone. For Xmas I'm getting her the new iphone and be done with the Fascinate. The spouse is going with the iphone 4 and the daughter is getting the iphone 4s.

Wait for the iPhone 5, should be coming out early next year some time not long I think. Just get an android or something atm, the only incentive the 4S offers is Siri for me, and that's an app - which has already been copied on android. I have a Galaxy S II and android is extremely modifiable, even more so that a jail broken iPhone which is still limited. I'd recommend the S II until the iPhone 5 at least, it has 1080p (8mp) recording capabilities, a nice and big 4.3 inch amoled screen, 1gb ram, 1.2ghz dual-core processor, a HDMI port + many other features.

I heard the camera was excellent but I didn't know it was that good.

4S has an 8 megapixel HD (1080p) camera... it's pretty badass for a phone (or should I say mobile computer). In comparison 4 has 5 MP HD (720p) camera

@Rmpr @ and other Brazilians - Have you heard about the news that Apple won't be able to market the iPhone as 'iPhone' anymore in Brazil? Here's the link to the article. Instead you have some company called 'Gradiente' who registered the name way back in 2000 and they have successfully sued Apple.

Can you keep me posted on how Apple will start branding their phones from now on?

Gradiente registered the domain in 2000 and only in 2012 they have decided to create a horrible phone and call it iphone. It is only to put the brand back into the news (because they have been really shit for the past few years)...

The problem is that if any registered brand/product name hasnt been used or merchandised in the first 5 years of the patent, it automatically becomes a public domain again. The first court gave it to Gradiente, but now Apple's lawyers are claiming they have already lost the right to use it. The latest news I read was that Gradiente had one month to prove they did use it in any way. This will be a long fight...

In the end, Apple will win it or it will pay the millions Gradiente wants. It will come down to absolutely nothing for Apple (but it is not good for business to lose courtroom battles). Brazil is nowhere near USA, Europe or China, but it is still a very strong market where Apple wont risk losing its brand. iPhone is a fashionable gadget in Brazil, people want to buy iPhones and iPads because it looks cool, even if Android has better phones and tablets!
