Where We Gonna Finish Then ?

I think if keep on winning matches then the top teams will surely feel the pressure. However winning the league is going to be tough however I think we can finish in the second spot.

Agree with you there, we just seem to take one step forward and one step back whilst Arsenal just keep getting the results.

It's Arsenals to lose now.

Though if we keep breathing down their necks, and ManU hustling as well, they could fuck up -but probably not to the tune of 9 points.

They have some difficult fixtures still to come and are not the most consistant of teams. Should they lose 1 or 2 of their key players then they will definately struggle to keep their spot.

I am sure by the end it will be very close and it is too hard to call who could win it.

Would like to share your optimism but can't I'm afraid, the glass is definitely half empty. Arsenal have remained consistently strong after their loss of African players and injuries.

The possibility of Arsenal dropping 9 points is highly unlikely. We need this to happen and Yernited to drop points, and us to acquire maximum to be in with a sliver of a chance. Nice thought, but it wont't happen realistically. It is definitely theirs to lose.

Arse Run in:

Man Utd (A) (FA Cup)

AC Milan (H) (C League)

Birmingham (A)

Aston Villa (H)

AC Milan (A)

Wigan (A)

Boro' (H)

Chelsea (A)

Bolton (A)

Liverpool (H)

Man Utd (A)

Reading (H)

Derby (A)

Everton (H)

Sunderland (A)

In bold are serious potential slip ups. Should they lose the next 2 cup games (very realisitc) then they will lose confidence.

There are potential banana skins there, but I think if they lose the two cup games -that will fire them up even more for the League. Also, Wenger with his experience and skill, and with Adebeyor the most on form Premiership player atm, they wont fuck it up.

Then again if Adebeyor starts battering a few more of his own players , as he did with Bender.....

One thing about the Arsenal is that when things do not go their way (as we say with them against Tottenham in the cup) they do not react well at all. Should they lose the 2 cup games it will affect them i am sure.

I can't say i am basing my belief on much but i just think it is going to be extremely tight at the end and any of the 3 teams could win it.

Would like to think we're in with a chance, and mathmatically it's possible. However, I can't see them chucking away 9 points somehow, and us not dropping any.

Certainly the Arse are in a fantastic position, but do they have the nerve to hold onto it? Still find it hard to believe we are even challenging after the season we have had but i am still optomistic now.

If they lose against one of the ones you haven't highlighted the mighty Arse will twitch.

Having ManUtd in there helps us, but 9 points dropped is a big ask/task/arse.

Far too much of a gap to make up imo. Not surprised in the least to find ourselves 9 points adrift, pretty much to be expected really and I can see us dropping a few more before the end of the season. I would be surprised to see us lift much more than the CC though.

Stranger things have happened in the league Mr. Greg. Everton(was it) losing the lead to Liverpool on the last day of the season in 86-87? and more recently, Arsenal getting kicked out of 3 major Cups in space of 7 days including the EPL, losing the Lead to Manutd on the Last day. this was 02-03 season.

And this season has been the most competitive after soo many years, so expect the unexpected!! I would say

Our position is possibly as desirable as Arsenal's at the moment. The pressure is on them to keep playing well and obtaining results whilst two class clubs are ever breathing down their neck. One mistake from Arsenal and United cut their lead to two points, then it becomes even more interesting. If we notch two wins against the pair of them at the Bridge, I can see us lifting the title. But two wins against Arsenal and United is a big ask.

True. There was also the mother of all title deciders with Michael Thomas in 1989.

I can only reiterate that it's Arsenals to lose, and drop 9 points and us not drop any. Can't see it happening really.

Btw in the ''Grant:Unbeaten Run Affecting Blues'' thread, you say theres no way we're going to win it anyway.
