not a good game by any means. defensively shaky, offensively we can not do that much. especially our positional attack is bad and our build-up way too slow. Willan and Oscar completely useless today. Our counter-attacking is mouth watering though.
-
again Azpi against a deep-sitting team...why Jose, why? at least no Mikel in the CDM position. good line-up beside Azpi as a LB
-
Luiz+Cahill should also be able to cope with De Jong/Ameobi/whoever. And it aint like Luiz is a shit CB by any means...

As I said, i think the "pl experience" fact is massively overrated. It aint like Rodriguez is a lightweight skinny guy, who has to put some muscles on to shape himself for the EPL. physically, he is perfect for the EPL (big, strong, fast). yes, he will have to learn, that the EPL is maybe faster and at times more intense than the Bundesliga, but the difference aint that big like people make it out to be. And Rodriguez is playing against teams like Bayern or Dortmund or Schalke (well if you count them in), so he know how to play against big teams.
-
and shaw will have to take time to accomodate playing for a top-club with much more pressure and more games etc. Rodriguez is more experienced though. and I would say the change between swiss-league and german league is far bigger than between EPL and Bundesliga. Look at Mata and Co: they where (physically) much much less made for the EPL and still they adapted with ease. Someone like Navas, who was homesick, adapted to the league with ease and he is physically far less compatible than Rodriguez. This argument is just made up I think and a lot of players have proven it in the last years. English league isnt that much harder or faster than other leagues anymore and players integrate themselves with ease.

ChelsTransferGossip @ChelsTransfer 2m The main stumbling block is #PSG would be unwilling to sell Cavani and if they do, would not be less than €100 million (via @dimarzio) #CFC ChelsTransferGossip @ChelsTransfer 2m #CFC during the January window tried to sketch out a deal for Cavani, but future of player at present remains in Paris (via @dimarzio) #PSG lol at 100m...

Alba and Marcelo arent worldclass at defending though. Alaba is both at great (as Lahm is if he plays LB). beside this, there arent many top LBs out their, as you pointed out. Shaw and Rodriguez would be the best options for the summer I think.
-
we won't play counter-attacking football against Newcastle at home...
-
so basically their best players are missing. would be a shame if we would not win now... Coloccini and Gouffran are also doubtful to be fit.
-
Fernandinho will miss 2 weeks Sky Sports News @SkySportsNews 42s Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho says he'll be fit to play again in 15 days #SSN so he wont be fit against us in the FA cup
-
fernando for free would be a top-signing for city. great squad player to give Fernandinho a rest. Seems like Mangala will join him too
-
he was lucky to escape a red card though. will miss the second leg. wasnt a good game from him, but Atletico in general were rubbish today. but he seems to be the only possible striker available (rooney wont be sold to us, even though some people are still deluded enough to believe this and I dont trust these Cavani rumours either). He is better than Jackson Martinez I think and better than any striker we have (which is not that hard though) Costa is good at linking-up, he is a fighter, good in the air and his work-rate is tremendous weakness sometimes he wastes too many chances and on occasions his 1st touch lets him down (even though not as bad as Lukakus or Torres) @didierforever Courtois has nothing to do with Costa. if we want him, we pay the clause and we dont need to include Thibaut .Futhermore, as I pointed out, there are no other options available bar Costa and maybe Mandzukic.
-
i dont understand why in the EPL the direct duels dont count if you are equal on points. Bad for us, good for City, who have a TD of +41 or something like this. we will have to surpass them in terms of points if we want to win the league. Arsenal are only 2 goals in front of us though.
-
where did he say that he wont be a passenger though? I dont think that Lampard 35!!! expects to be a starter at Chelsea. he has gotten tons of starts though this season. either he wants to be part of a great chelsea next year, probably winning the EPL and chasing for more, or he decides to chill out in the MLS and earn some big money. I would really love to see him here for 1 more year and hopefully he agrees to that or the club at first offers him a new contract.
-
we could have had them both..just imagine aguero up front and willian+eden on the wings...but we instead decided to go for torres
-
ChelsTransferGossip @ChelsTransfer 4m John Terry is ready to accept a one-year contract at Chelsea if it means prolonging his playing career at Stamford Bridge #CFC (Mail) ChelsTransferGossip @ChelsTransfer 3m Terry wanted a two-year deal, but was told Chelsea policy for players over the age of 30 is to offer only 12 months #CFC (Mail) ChelsTransferGossip @ChelsTransfer 2m Terry has accepted this [one year policy for over 30] and is hoping to start his 17th season as a professional with #CFC in August (Mail) ChelsTransferGossip @ChelsTransfer 2m Terry is already in line to be the club’s player of the year. remy and cabaye are missing. we absolutely have to win this. especially after the Etihad win
-
Witsel is a B2B and not a DLP. He could replace Ramires in our starting lineup with Matic as CDM sitting deeper.
-
Etoo only running 4,6 kilometres lol...guy is getting old
-
missing fernandinho was way more influential than missing aguero. fernandinho is really amazing this season for them.
-
willian, offensively, still is not contributing much. without Hazard yesterday we would have created much much less chances. but I think Willian just needs time to adapt to his new style of play, like Eden needed time at the begining of this season. At the moment, we are heavily reliant on him, as no offensive playeres can create as he can. Mata was someone who could take some pressure off him, but now he is off, as we all know.
-
only thing I am worried about it is, that we should not get TOO reliant on Eden. He is a brilliant player yes, but we should not build around him completely. hopefully a decent striker and maybe a new creative CM will help us to put some pressure off his shoulders.
-
have to disagree. navas multiple times ran past azpi in the game. think that Navas was their best player and their right side was more dangerous than the left one. azpi did have a lot of problems with jesus and we was lucky they didnt convert one. but all in all he did a good job.
-
in terms of lifestyle definetely no. schürrle is a top notch professional. and also I think he is training good. hopefully he gets some chances to prove himself.
-
that moment when he walked past yaya toure and the defender on the left flank and they could not stop him >>>>
