Don't over dramatize things by saying he's fucked up Cole's chances. Jose priorities lay with Chelsea, not England, so let's not spin it into a debate about it's all Jose's fault.

Nobody is infallible. Nor was he correct in everything he did, but one thing for sure he has helped Azpilicueta become the player he has, couple that with the energy and work ethic of Azpi you can see why he is trusted and held in high regard by Mourinho.

It's also the opinion of Jose too looking at the amount of games and trust placed in Azpilicueta. It's also huge testament to Azpi keeping out Cole considering he is a converted LB.

Cole doesn't offer the flexibility of Azpilicueta where he can drop from LB to RB without any issues. Azpi's quality has been so prominent you cannot just pull him away from that left side on the job he has done just to give Cole 'Minutes'

He didn't sit on the bench needlessly at all, he was kept out by the best LB in the country this season IMO, and also IMO our best, and most consistent player of the season also. Why would you just drop Azpilicueta for Cole? Just because it's Ashley Cole? No chance.

I love Cech, he will go down as a legend at this club for me but let's promote the best young goalkeeper in the world to the No1 spot he wants and give him his shot. This isn't a gamble or a risk it's just the right thing to do at the right time.
