IF we win the CL would you still call it a pathetic season?

As most of the last posters have said,,Essien is finished. That sounds harsh but is merely facing reality. He has been a GREAT player for us but the cumulative effect of his injuries mean he will never have the power speed ans energy which were the hallmark of his game. I think he should retire or find a lucrative pay day in a less demanding league ,,MLS perhaps

It was always the final game of the season and for years was the only game televised live. The first final I saw on TV was the Mathews final in 1953 watched in a crowded room on a 12inch b/w tv ,,, People cheered when Blackpool got the winner . Will never forget our wins over Leeds and Boro . The players celebrations are as you say demonstrating what the players feel about it.
