  1. I don't want to have a go at Robbie because he's a great guy, but the problems in today's result were the same as the one in the Liverpool home game and the West Brom away game.
  2. He's done a fantastic job for the board. Personally I think he could've echoed the fans' sentiments and looked for a bit more ambition from the board, but he's been the 'company man'. I'm not so sure that's what I'd call a fantastic job if I was unfortunate enough to be an Arsenal supporter.
  3. Dear Nando. Please fuck off. Please. Go back to Athletico, take a pay cut and try not to talk shit about us when you leave. We tried. We supported you. We applauded you when you managed the absolute basics. We defended you when you missed open goals, gave the ball away and simply fell over. We made excuses for you when other fans ridiculed you. We put our faith in you when Drogba left and we ignored some 'quotes out of context' after the Champions League. But we're done. You're a cancer at this club now. It's not your fault, but it ain't going to change.
  4. West Brom lost, Arsenal lost and Everton drew. We got fucking lucky today with other results.
  5. The players we've got on loan are all getting good playing time. Bringing them back would probably stall their personal development. Unless we've got a domineering defensive midfielder on loan who I'm forgetting, I don't know if they'll solve many of our issues.
  6. You say 'dip in form', I say it's the result of issues that have existed at the club for a while now.
  7. I did ask who specifically people wanted out. But to the rest of your points, yes we won without the academy a few years ago. But we can't spend like that nowadays - the rules won't allow it and it would ruin Roman. We need to become somewhat self-sufficient for the good of the club and the team. The striker situation is appalling, but they felt they had to see if their £50 million investment could pay off. They had to give him every chance (in their view) because to write £50 million off without exhausting every possibility just isn't good business. I don't necessarily agree with the number of chances he's been given and I think it's now conclusive. The signings of Mata, Hazard and Oscar aren't as nonsensical as you're making out. Did we go overboard with signing 'creative' players? Maybe. But it's been an area we (the supporters) have been moaning about for years. My view is that the problems we have now are the result of short-sighted thinking almost a decade ago. Now we're actually trying to run the club as a football club but the gap between the old players going and the new ones coming through is taking too long and we're seeing the results of it on the pitch. Your assessment of our defensive signings makes a little sense when you talk about Luiz (who needs selling) but Cahill and Azpilicueta have been good, cheap signings. The young players we've bought in and loaned out seem to all be heading in the right direction. So that's why I asked the question about WHO people want sacking because I'm not sure how much they are to blame for what is happening right now.
  8. Against West Brom we lost because Clarkey is a great manager and the strikers missed sitters. Against Swansea we dropped points because the defensive midfield (Ramires in this case) fucked up. We need a presence in midfield (instead of Mikel) who works hard for 90 minutes, communicates well and organises the team and gets stuck in. It's probably the most important position in our team because they're the link between defence and attack.
  9. When people say 'board out', who specifically do they want out? To me, these problems started 5 years ago when we didn't focus on producing our own youngsters or bringing in youngsters from other teams but tried to win with established players like Ballack and Shevchenko. Are the current board (who have focused on young talent and the academy) to blame for that?
  10. Today was a shit result. So was Swansea away. So was West Brom away. This problem didn't start with Rafa Benitez, but I don't know if he's capable of solving it.
  11. You lose if you don't convert your chances and our main striker simply doesn't get in the right positions. You defend from the front in football matches and if number 9 isn't doing his job then it puts more pressure on the rest of the team. If he can't hold the ball up whilst his teammates get closer to him and run beyond him, then it makes it so much easier for the opposition. He's not the only problem in the team, but he's one of the biggest ones. He fails to do the most basic things a striker is asked to do.
  12. Fair enough. When you said 'wankers the lot of them' and called them 'yes men', you must've just meant me. Don't bother responding to this post or ever addressing me again because I don't think it's going to be of any benefit to anyone.
  13. Torres was atrocious for much of the match, but it isn't just what he does that causes us problems, it's what he doesn't do. He doesn't hold the ball up, he doesn't make runs to occupy defenders and create space for others. He doesn't get into the right positions in the box. Azpi put a beautiful cross in in the first half and the defenders were split. Torres was nearer the 18 yard line than the 6 yard line. He simply doesn't do the basics that you would expect of a £4 million striker, let alone a £50 million one. We're essentially playing with 10 men every game because he's so fucking shit. That doesn't excuse other players who had bad games, but how dispiriting must it be to have to play with this guy every week?
  14. Why don't you go and have a sit down in a dark room and calm down, rather than insulting fellow Chelsea fans on the internet simply because they might not think exactly what you think they should.
  15. Good point - the West Brom and Swansea games, as well as the Juventus (home) and Shakhtar (home and away) weren't much better. This is a personnel issue and that is a direct result of short-term thinking 5 years ago. The managerial issue is a very, very close second.
  16. They caused us problems in the first game, but they should be beatable at home. But unless we actually try something different up front, I'm not really sure what we'll learn from it (because I can't see Juventus losing at Shakhtar). Torres needs to be dropped. He needs to go. Now we can start experimenting with different things in this game before the Sunderland game (another tough away game), or we can simply win against a team we should and pretend things are getting better.
  17. People said to get behind the coach for the good of the club, and to give him a chance to prove himself. You calling people (who are Chelsea fans just like you apparently are) wankers is just you embarrassing yourself.
  18. Give Allardyce credit. Whatever he said at half-time worked and his changes all had impact. Rafa on the other hand......
  19. We need someone at the heart of that midfield who has presence and A WORK ETHIC. Mikel is not that player. He's fine when we're moving forward, but when we have a fight on our hands he has a tendency to hide or dawdle around the pitch. He also relies on his strength way too much. He can fend off most players so takes too many extra touches. And Torres is clearly done. Until he leaves, we're pretty much fucked.
  20. I've not said that. If you tried reading what I said rather than what you think I've said this will be a lot easier.
  21. Behave. Roman has done a shit load for this club and is looking to do more. What we don't need is 'fans' like you who ignore how things could be without him.
  22. Utter fucking shit. Torres - FUCK OFF Mikel - Wake up or FUCK OFF
  23. Absolute fucking shit. Mikel - FUCK OFF. Torres - FUCK OFF.
