Can Chelsea play with a false #9 like Barcelona?
Jcar92 replied to BOSS's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
The role of the false 9 is not just bring the centre-back outside, when he leaves the area, other player goes into it, and not just there, even in the midfield... This makes the team trade positions a lot, this confuses any defense... And makes more options to the player holding the ball, more options of pass, more variations of attack. With the Mazacar, we talk a lot about who should be at the sides, who to be in the center role... That would be the end of this. Each time, one player in each of those positions... If we manage to buy a Deep Lying playmaker, it could be even better, he could even come foward to orchestrate... Well, just dreaming... And sorry for the bad english, still learning. -
If this is true, it's amazing, exactly what i thought we should done. He seens like a great prospect.

Exactly. -
It's not the same for us, brazilians... You see, here, in the "Brasileirão", he did really well, but not as good as Oscar, Neymar, Lucas or Alexandre Pato at his time. He has the talent to play at this level, but is not ready yet. It's hard to tell, even Alexandre Pato, who played at a level good enough to do the difference in Europe should have stayed for more time... Is really hard to tell who is good enough, you don't know if the player is at his best, or if he can do better, or even if it's the right time to go out even tough he is good. As i said, being weak is not the problem if you have the experience and know how to deal with it... But he doesn't. And even without the pressure that had Neymar, Lucas Moura and Oscar in their games, he does not as good as them. About buying Bernard i do think it's a good idea. Not to come to England, but to have him cheap. And of course, letting he play loaned in Brazil.

Can Chelsea play with a false #9 like Barcelona?

Maybe this is what our team needs. Of course, it could work with the 9... But to me, we just have to see the team playing with Fernando Torres, he holds the Mazacar back. With a false 9 they would go into the area more times, i think that we would have more variations in the attack, letting us more dangerous. =) -

Well, i don't think that we're imitating them just because we started playing with a false 9 or some player that is not the casual finisher, "fox in the box". Tiki-taka is one thing, the false 9, another. The false 9 is just a new position, just like others that emerged through the evolution of the game. We can't discard this... We need to play with a style according to our team, not something that we want. And to be true... I really think that this work for us, so, why not?. If we can manage to have a player that can play in and outside the area, awesome, we make him and mazacar trade positions, with the trio going into the area while he goes outside. About the tiki-taka, agree, that's Barcelona, not us. We also play with passes, but we're different. But that got nothing to do with the False 9. I think that we have to consider this. -
He definitely has talent... But i don't think he is good enough, well, at least for now. He is really weak. This would not be a problem if he had more experience, but that's not the case. After 1 or 2 years, maybe, who knows? but not now, and we have too many players in his position.

Hahahaha! Oscar has no technique! Yeah, right, lol The goals that he scored against Juventus and shakhtar shows that this is just wonrg.... Clearly a troll, if not, is just somebody that knows nothing. Okay, thats all, Let's laugh at him, poor guy! XDDDD

Sorry about the name, i'm new at the forum, to be true, i never used one. Aw man, mates, i don't wanna be the boring guy that just talk about one player... But i have to talk in this one... I never ever was at Cotia, and never will, i am also a corinthians supporter. xD I said hype in the time that both were exploding... Lucas at São Paulo and Oscar for Internacional, as i said, Oscar played the sub-20 while Lucas was with the principal team... Never said that one was better than the other, just commenting about the hype. And yeah, Oscar was compared with Kaka and all, i remember, good times, São Paulo just kicked Liverpool lol. I agree with you, i totally think that he deserves the starting place. And yeah, Ganso is having a bad time, this, since he started to have a lot of injuries... But before that, for what he played in 2010, omg, i would pick him instead of Neymar. But then he become injuried, Oscar received his chance and used it like a boss. =D Oh yeah, almost forgot, Hulk deserves his place, He saved Mano Menezes a lot... Er... i mean, Brazil, he saved Brazil. lol But okay, i stop now, let's go back to Oscar, really class, until where do you guys think he will go? What type of player and how much will he develop?

I respect your opinion, for what you said, i assume that you watch his games, i also receive comments here that he tends to go for the drible, but this is because is his best skill, and works a lot. We had Robben in CHelsea, we all know that he would take the ball at the right side, bring to middle and kick, but still worked... Not saying that Lucas always go for the same play, is just that he do it(the drible) because it works, if he needs to adapt here, i think he will do. He can do other things alright. His last game can show, the 5 x 0 againt "La U", look at the pass that he did to Luis Fabiano... Look, Lucas is clearly wronged. Okay, you may prefer Hulk above him, but he didn't even receive a good chance, always when has just some minutes of game, even if you put all that, that he has one trick, for what he showed us in the Brasileirão, he should have more chances... Agree with you about tracking back, he try, but still is no good at it... Disagree about his position, he plays in the midfield, but always at the sides... To compare, Neymar is the LWF, while Lucas play behind as the RMF... He is really agressive, really direct, so it seems like that. But again, i get your point.

Guys... I want to be clear at first... After Neymar, Oscar is my favorite player at the moment... But this is crazy. I understand the hapiness with Oscar since he is exhaling class with our shirt, but, are you guys really saying that Oscar is way better without the transition of Lucas Moura to Europe? I'm not somebody that see Lucas just in youtube videos. In Brazil, i support Corinthians, the rival of São Paulo Futebol club, and still, i say that this guy, Moura, is damn dangerous. He is not just the drible, not anymore. And even when he was starting, he still had the pass, the mobility, the positioning to receive passess or chances outside of the area and shoot. Now, he gained experience, he defends and also helps to orchestrate the game. He has the same good characteristic of Oscar, he shows his best at hard times, against big rivals. I live here, this saying that Oscar was more hyped than him is wrong... Just now that he is in Chelsea. And Didier Drogba LA-la-La-LA-la-La, you're brazilian, you know that Lucas don't play because of the stubbornness of Mano Menezes, just like with Dunga... Pato wasn't called, but we know that Grafite is not better that him. Everyone ask for Neymar in one side with Lucas in the other. And to be true, our diamond just received the 10 because Ganso was injured and this number is, year for year, in brazil, given to the player that has the role to orchestrate the game, the AMF. The best player is Neymar... And while Oscar showed his skills in the sub-20 world cup, Moura was at the American Cup with the principal team, they thought that Moura was more ready. And of course today Oscar is put above Lucas now. He made the move to europe and didn't struggle, is learning new things.... I'm not saying that Lucas is better, but, saying that Oscar is ten times Lucas is just wrong... Psg people don't paid this crazy amount for nothing. Of course, i don't think that his price was correct, but still... He seems to have a good future. Well, he's coming, let's see how well he will develop. I Just hope for good football.

Palmeiras is having a bad time but Barcos is really great. Scored 27 gols this year and has been playing for Argentina. Is tall but has talent, is not slow, has a good technique and first touch, can play outside of the area and can link well with the midfield. To me, his best quality is that he is really calm, no matter what. Team losing, Palmeiras going to 2º division, suporters crying, 90 min, last play with Barcos and... Goal. He is crazy cold. Together with Fred of Fluminense, is making a really good season. He would be a good reserve, at least. All his goals this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=pKhtendhjPc The goal that i'm talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ks8jztKl8cE

Dude, i'm not talking about the value or the price, or even if they're going to play here... my point is their talent. Hazard has been playing in the center, at least. Better than that, i believe that they're not holding position so the three move a lot, some times oscar is the winger, and then, later, Mata is the man. But i got your point... In this type of style there would be no space to him to play. Do you really think that the team is built around Mata? And i think that he is a amazing player, but not the Crack, the great "fantasista" like Messi or at least for now, Neymar. And i think that a club has to be always open for this kind of player... I think that there is no way to tell if the price for Neymar is good or not. Nobody expected Oscar to be this good. Hell, now we say that we robbed the brazilian club Internacional. Messi, at Neymar age, if somebody had paid the price that the brazilian boy has today, do you think it would not been the right value? I'm not saying that he will be the best here. But if i'm Santos and i have the player that has the greatest prospect to become something like Messi, i would also put a big price...

I love Oscar, i'm brazilian. I watch him since the time he played for São Paulo. He has the technique, knows how defend, isn't the type to cause troubles and only wants the win. He can feel the game and control it with his pass and positioning, has a okay dribble and a awesome kick, my only problem with him is that i feel that some times he disappears from the game. Happily, just like he did here, he still show his face in the hard moments of the match. Oh yeah, and because of his body that it is not the strongest of all, he has to came back and play deep so he can take part in the game. If i were you, i would wait... Lucas moura is amazing, everyone is talking about Neymar(he is a monster, neither Oscar nor Lucas do what he does with those brazilian defences) as the new brazilian talent. But... Lucas, i wouldn't be suprised if he do just as good or even better than Oscar.
