  1. He'd flourish under someone like Klopp or even in Bayern's system where they have the players capable of beating the opposition and creating chaos (e.g. Jota, Diaz, Sane, Gnabry, Musiala) and he would be that hybrid AMF.
  2. I don't think we'll need an emergency RB with Gusto coming in from Lyon (arguably one of the better young RB's in europe) Selling Chalobah isn't a bad idea as we have Colwill who can take up that CB role next season and I doubt anyone is going to help us by taking KK and his 300k wage packet.
  3. Would have to agree, I reckon Mount saw what was happening (particularly with the Nkunku signing), even the recent Felix loan and sort of realized that his place in the side was no longer automatic. There's no doubting that he's got some qualities about him but he's not going to carry a team to titles by himself (like KDB, Salah and co). Sometimes it's better to part ways with a player than have them upset on the bench moaning about lack of play time.
  4. selling KDB and keeping Oscar was a screw up....
  5. I don't see too many differences between him & Moyes. They both got a top 4 job which was out of their league and they proved that the gap between mid-table & a top 4 side is massive (especially when it comes to managers). Rodgers has quality, maybe not top 4 quality but I wouldn't be shocked to see him at Spurs or somewhere in the top half of the table in the near future.
  6. If it's true, I'm honestly surprised about United. Would have thought Liverpool/Arsenal was the better fit...
  7. Their other options are Fred and McTom in the midfield, I can see why they'd be interested in another midfielder, whether its Ugarte or Caicedo, adding steel to your midfield is never a bad thing (something we've lacked since Essien left us and then Kante started picking up all those injuries).
  8. I would agree with that...anything north of 200 million for the players listed would be a good achievement. It would help reduce the wage bill as well. Not sure about the fees for RLC & Mendy though as Italian clubs love their cheap 1 season loan deals, I have doubts that they would pay 25 million for those players.
  9. Why would Sporting develop our player for us? They get zero benefit out of that. They'd rather send their scouts back to South America and find the next gem for peanuts, give them 1-2 seasons to develop and cash in for 40, 50 million.
  10. This just goes back to what Sir Alex said about his club all those years ago, no player is bigger than the club. From various reports Mount was given a long term deal (same as Reece) but the offer was declined....so there isn't much else the club can do. Its good that the club doesn't want to face another Christensen situation where the player walks away on a free transfer, rather get some transfer funds that we can reinvest into the midfield.
  11. Wonder if Juventus are keen, he could take Di Maria's spot and give them a nice boost in US Marketing.
  12. Wonder if they'd lower Caicedo's price with Gallagher going the other way...
  13. I'd be highly surprised if Hall isn't sent out for a proper loan, he needs good minutes to develop (probably Championship). HG players next season would likely be: Bettinelli, Chilly, Reece, Sterling, Madueke, Gallagher, Colwill, Chalobah (if he isn't sold to raise funds).
  14. Both him & McAllister are leaving, will be interesting to see which gem Brighton pick up in the transfer market as their replacements.
  15. Finally, we can sell the deadwood and reduce the size of the squad...
  16. that would be a dream but there's no way we get all of them, particularly with no European football next season. Caicedo won't be short on offers, same with Lavia (interest from both Newcastle & Man Utd and City have a buy back for him). I just hope its more than 1 midfield signing heading into next season. Ugarte - Enzo sounds good but we need competition in the side and different options, can't just bank on two midfielders (especially with Kova, RLC, Mount all linked with moves away and Kante's injury concerns).
  17. I wouldn't say terrible management, we just buy players that don't really fit together. Signing Pulisic, Morata, Ziyech, Havertz, Mudryk, Sterling for 40+ million each...not to mention Lukaku for 90+ million in consecutive seasons is just poor transfer judgement. Only Lukaku had shown that he could consistently score goals, the rest of them were always known for their inconsistency and I doubt many people had actually seen Mudryk play for his previous club before we got the news out of the blue that we were hijacking the Arsenal deal (that they had been working on for 2-3 months).
  18. The funniest part is...an injured Hazard would still be the best attacker at Chelsea right now....that's how far our standards have fallen since his departure to Madrid I do wonder what the club does with someone like Havertz as he won't be a 15+ goal a season striker for Chelsea and even Mudryk has looked horribly off the pace (so far), feel like Pochettino is in for a rough ride with our rubbish attack. At least he had Kane + Son at his previous club to score goals and get results
  19. You would think the players will want to finish the season off on a good note (not another heavy loss) but I just don't see any player who will rise to the occasion and put in that type of performance... We haven't had that sort of player since Hazard left years ago.
  20. This has nothing to do with training, the players gave up weeks ago. They're all in pre-season/holiday mode and just coasting through until they can finally say the season is officially over. The bigger concern moving forward is the lack of leaders in the first team XI. We can't go into next season with 50 year old Thiago Silva as the only 'captain' at the club...
  21. Considering the amount they want, I'd rather wait for Caicedo than go for Ugarte.
  22. Well said. Funny how as soon as all these Mount rumors start to heat up (going to United or Arsenal)...Reece posts a pretty cryptic message about people not doing the hard yards...
  23. If Rashford is fit, feel like the scoreline could even end up 2 or 3 nil for them. Our boys struggle to score at home, don't see any of them turning up at Old Trafford and putting in a performance to remember.
  24. City have the best squad (arguably) in European football at the moment and they are winning trophies. I don't see anything wrong with that. When we were winning league titles and other trophies under Mourinho, you could say that we (arguably) had the best team in the PL at that point in time. The reason why I just don't like United is because they don't have a good squad or amazing players but with Rashford or Bruno or someone else they seem to pop up at the right moment of the game, take the 50/50 chance and get the win. Them winning both domestic cups just feels wrong, especially when you consider they were killed by City in the league and even Klopp pulled their pants down on live tv and gave them a score line to remember.
  25. City will score 2-3 easy goals and then go on second gear for the rest of the game. I'd be very much surprised if we can keep them to 2-0 without the likes of James, Kante, Badiashile, Chilwell etc.
