It should be a straight swap as Vlahovic hasn't shown anything at Juventus to be a 70 million rated striker and for all of Lukaku's stupid antics he's actually got a solid goalscoring record in Italy...
-
Well...the PL starts in less than 2 weeks. Hopefully the saga is over by then
-
I thought the plan was to loan Casadei & possibly Chuks this season to help with their development.
-
Wonder if the plan is to go after Toney as the other striker I just don't see what Vlahovic will actually bring to the table, if we're that keen on another striker, might as well put in a bid for Mitrovic if his saudi deal doesn't go through, he's got PL experience and knows how to score goals.
-
I'd be concerned about Ziyech considering he failed a medical for the Saudi league, not sure if any european clubs would be that keen on him.
-
I doubt we're spending 45 mil on a backup. Disasi, Badiashile, Colwill and if Fofana recovers well from his injuries....that's solid CB options to have
-
The only reason he is still here is because no other club out there is stupid enough to pay a reasonable transfer fee for him....same reason why Lakaka hasn't been sold yet either.
-
It's just a bunch of keyboard warriors having some fun online, wonder if they will still be posting regularly once Brighton go back to being mid-table or worse. I'm surprised people on this forum are going through other forums just to find "hatred". At the end of the day, they pulled our pants down with Potter & Cucurella and they'll very likely do the same with Caicedo as they know we have zero replacements lined up.
-
That sounds pretty concerning and he's not even part of the Brighton pre-season tour squad. Steele is 32 and hardly an amazing goalkeeper. We should have tested out Brentford with a bid for Raya but now he is being linked with Bayern.
-
Feel like City has a bigger priority in getting the Gvardiol deal done instead of waiting around and matching the Caicedo fee. They have Rodri already and even Stones looked good last season when he was playing in midfield.
-
There's no way the club is negotiating with Brighton for another player in the same window! 😆 I think you're forgetting that we still have the great Malang Sarr ready to step in and play CB for the club
-
@robsblubot Think it's important to understand whether those goals/assists were against decent opposition or just stat padding. In Mount's case, he got 7 or 8 of those goals against Norwich, Southampton, Watford, Everton... Feel like our attack will be better off without Mount.
-
It's a shame that we didn't seriously look at Barella whilst Inter were trying to negotiate for Lakaka. I really don't see us getting a DM now
-
Who's the other club in the race?
-
You do realise that Fabinho is close to a deal with the Saudi League as well....and they have just sold Henderson. I don't think they have another starting DM and Lavia would take that role.
-
There is no way out from Cucurella, he's the same as Kepa....we will be stuck with him until he has 1-2 years left on his contract and we are able to sell him off at "book value".
-
I don't think position is as important as finding the right club that will actually give him consistent minutes to develop.
-
Agree with this but we also have to consider that Poch knows the transfer business pretty well and he's not going to say something in public about Gallagher that may ruin his relationship with the player or take away from the transfer fee. The way I see it, if we get a good midfielder in (someone like Kudus to play that more attacking type role), then Gallagher will probably be sold off to balance the books but if not, we'll keep Gallagher at the club as a squad player and he's still a useful player to have.
-
We did that with Cucurella and ended up paying an extra 20 million for no reason whatsoever. No point overpaying for another player. I would hope the club just goes and meets them face to face, puts up the 80 million (with say 5 million in add-ons) and that's the final offer. United didn't mess around when they wanted Mount, they asked for a face to face meeting and agreed the deal, don't see why we can't do the same with Brighton. If they feel he is worth the same as Rice, good luck to them as no-one is touching Caicedo for 100 million at this stage of his career.
-
Not their fault if the other club keeps moving the goalposts and insisting on a certain youngster in return. The opportunity to get Ugarte was there but PSG beat us out with massive wages.
-
If we're keen on a 2nd midfielder, we should be looking for someone with experience like what United did with Casemiro/Eriksen. I just don't see it, Onana looks a decent player but he won't be "lifting" any top 6 midfield to the next level at this stage of his career. Probably the reason why none of the top 6 are actually after him (that will probably change in 2-3 seasons time if he continues to develop and become a game changer for Everton). Compare that to Lavia where pretty much everyone is keen on him but everything has gone quiet since the Liverpool links started to appear.
-
If we're going to end up selling all these kids, then why bother buying them? Especially when the club have just appointed a manager who has a pretty good track record with youngsters... not saying that they all make it but Casadei/Santos already look a level above some of the other young midfielders that we've had on the books in recent years.
-
What's the transfer fee for Olise? Gallagher would only cover Kudus/Cherki as both are rated around 40-45 million mark... If we had to prioritise one of them, we should be all over Kudus
-
How do you leave it as an "open offer"? That makes no sense. Give them the 80 million including add-ons and if Brighton reject it, good luck to them as they'll have an unhappy player at the club. Brighton agreed to sell him in this transfer window when a good offer came in, if they want to break their word, that's up to them.
-
You mean the same Sterling who has been capped 80+ times by England? If Sterling was still in his prime (like when he was getting 15+ PL goals a season for City), he'd be a definite pick in the English squad. Don't see Grealish competing with that.
