  1. A fit KDB & Haaland would be nice, wouldn't have to worry about watching Madueke/Sterling/Jackson do f*ck all in attack.
  2. I still don't get the Lavia signing. Like we got Caicedo and then we also got a talented young midfielder in Ugo, not sure why we needed to sign 3 DM's in the same transfer window. The saddest part is, we sign all this talent but when it comes to attackers and creativity we decide to sign only Nkunku and hope for the best. Surely the plan wasn't to rely on Jackson/Broja for a whole season up front with some brazilian kid being their back-up. The only positives so far this season: Colwill, Enzo, Palmer and Mudryk scoring a goal. I don't mind losses but you have to score at home in front of your own fans.
  3. If we win this game, all credit to Pochettino but without Enzo, not really sure what chance we have. Brentford will be all over Sanchez trying to play out of the back and we'll concede an easy goal....
  4. Agree with this but Jackson needs at least 2+ seasons of development to be the main man in attack. I get the experiment and Jackson has the raw skills you want to see in a young striker but to expect him & Broja to lead the line and potentially score 15+ goals between them was always going to be a step too far.
  5. Brentford, Spurs, City, Newcastle, then Brighton and United. Will be interesting to see how Poch sets up for these games, particularly Spurs as they are flying at the moment.
  6. West Ham are also bang average....still can't believe we dropped points to them 🤬
  7. @Vesper if we were to get someone like Simakan into the club, would Colwill, Simakan, Badiashile be good enough as the starting CB's?
  8. The saddest part is, in terms of raw talent I would say Fofana is the best of the 3 French CB's that we brought to the club.
  9. I feel it's a bit of a shame that we didn't get to see some of the more attack minded players given a chance with Poch. I get that guys like RLC, Pulisic wanted the fresh start elsewhere but they would have been useful this season (especially with Enzo having a proper partner in midfield now).
  10. Yea well you can't really predict anything about Nottingham when they are able to sign 15-20 players every single window. They also have a very simple setup, sit back, stay compact and get on the counter.
  11. To think we spent all that money and we couldn't bring in a single reliable attacker to be the focal point up front. I'm more concerned about how Sterling/Mudryk/Madueke and co are going to justify their price tags as I don't think any of them get anywhere near 10 league goals this season.
  12. I don't think people mind mistakes but you have to be consistent. If the call is for offside by the sideline ref then VAR has to follow the same process every single game (i.e. draw the offside lines, check the player for offside and make the call). I actually liked the VAR software they used at the world cup and they're also using a similar one in Serie A. Feels like the current VAR setup in the Premier League is just to give a job to the referee's mates.
  13. Even if you compare him to Simons who was at PSV and now he's lighting it up for Leipzig in Germany....they are worlds apart. PSV robbed us blind for Madueke, would prefer to see Maatsen in the first team than Madueke as he just looks too raw.
  14. Forget about winning, let's worry about scoring 1 goal in front of our home crowd. 😆
  15. De Zerbi already dreaming about how he can spend another 100 million on the next unknown wonderkid when the bid for Mitoma goes in at the end of the season!
  16. Tammy got 15 goals for us in the league and many people here said he wasn't good enough. He goes to Roma and gets 17 goals in his first season of Serie A, then 8 goals last year and somehow he's "improved" since leaving Chelsea?
  17. Because it was full of the young players looking to impress and take the chance offered to them. Casadei, Santos, Angelo, Carney, Bashir among others. Funny how most were not kept around (other than Carney and that nasty injury) and as soon as we got these high priced signings very late in the window things started going from bad to worse. I mentioned this before but getting Caicedo & Lavia was overkill and I feel it sends a bad message to the rest of the talented young midfielders as their pathway to first team football at Chelsea is effectively blocked for the near future.
  18. You say we didn't have a top number 9, we technically did (comparing him to our most recent strikers) but he wanted nothing to do with the club and ran off to Italy once again. I feel like their approach in the transfer market would suit a development type club very well as you could sign 10 good talents from across Europe and the world and hope that 3-4 of them make it and you end up selling them on for a massive profit. I'd be very worried if the board actually rejected the idea of signing experienced players as that would mean they aren't serious about getting european football anytime soon and this would have a flow on effect for a number of players who would definitely look for exits to the bigger clubs in the next 2 seasons.
  19. It's also easy to forget that Arsenal didn't spend 200+ million on their midfield whilst they were in that rebuilding phase. If we didn't have Caicedo, Enzo and these high priced signings, I wouldn't mind 12-18 months of rebuilding and I'm sure the manager in charge would be given time for that rebuild to happen but the problem is, when you go to the market and invest heavily, every fan and pundit out there expects immediate results.
  20. Until results improve, the owners will be in the dressing room every game. Like how hard is it to score 1 goal at your home ground against a solid but beatable Villa team? The game was there for the taking but there isn't a player in the XI who can win the game single handedly like Hazard, Drogba, Lampard etc from previous years.
  21. How many true Chelsea FC Supporters are there in this forum? I find it really funny that it's "okay" to attack other supporters because they've become fed up of watching absolute crap being served up by the players week after week for the past few seasons and these types of posts tend to get the most likes but when fans actually put their opinion out there about just how much the club has changed and the fact that we are very likely to end mid-table or worse this season, no one seems to care. Sometimes time zones and other factors in your life affect whether you're able to tune in and watch the game live but that doesn't mean that the fans should be labelled as glory hunters.
  22. If it wasn't for injuries, I don't think Poch would have to come up with these types of excuses. In an ideal world, you have Badiashile/Fofana available as first choice CB, Reece as RB, Nkunku as the attacking star and a trio of Caicedo - Enzo - Lavia controlling the midfield.
  23. Hopefully there is a break clause in January, otherwise we've just wasted a whole season of development.
  24. There wasn't really much of a choice, from all reports Kante wanted a 3 year deal to stay and the club weren't keen on that considering his recent track record with niggling injuries. I wonder if not playing decent minutes in pre-season and going on strike at their previous clubs had anything to do with the lack of fitness? And as I mentioned at the time, getting both Caicedo & Lavia was going to be overkill in the midfield as we don't need two players with similar profiles. In hindsight, Caicedo or Lavia and Kudus would have made much more sense as Ugo looks fine to be the backup mid.
  25. I used to do the same but considering our squad is nowhere near fit and our attackers seem allergic to scoring goals, better off watching the other PL games.
