Liverpool will give us a beating on both flanks, it's not just Palmer. A fit Salah will give Chilwell and whoever plays left flank plenty to think about. Liverpool is probably the worst side for us to face as they have players who take those 50/50 chances. Salah/Jota/Diaz/Nunez runs around like a madman/Gapko/that Leipzig midfielder they got.

Might be cheaper to 'part ways' at the end of the season? And also, who's going to come in right now to solve the issues at the club? Lampard part 3? JT Interim?
-
Palace don't need to do anything for the rest of the game, just stay compact and they'll probably hold out on 1-0
-
In before Sterling starts again and we go back to square 1. Final scoreline: 1-1

Gotta say it's refreshing to see Bayern get outclassed in a big game! Will be interesting to see where Alonso ends up next season as he'll definitely have options.....Liverpool, Bayern Munich etc.
-
I think if you're consistently making the finals, you're going to be classified as a cup team. Winning on the day is often luck and your key players taking the game on. The only issue for us is that we've forgotten how to win the final with losses to Arteta's Arsenal, Guardiola's City and then Klopp's liverpool on penalties.
-
What else do you expect? These aren't players with 150-200 games under their belt and who know how to deal with these situations. Between Jackson, Madueke, Palmer, Mudryk, Gusto, Enzo, Caicedo....they've probably played like 50 solid league games before moving to Chelsea. Just happy to see them get a win away from home and actually score 3 goals in the process. Referees aside, we were never going to beat Liverpool at Anfield and let's be honest, if you let Wolves get into dangerous positions over and over and you let them run at you for fun, Neto & Cunha will eventually create enough to score a few goals...

The only reason to bring in Jose would be for CHAOS and giving these entitled kids a proper kick up the ass.
-
Wonder if that'll be the end for Poch or whether we need to sit through another 5 shitty performances before the board finally pull the plug
-
The fact is, he hasn't even lived up to his price tag and the rumors have started that he's looking around...that just tells you that he was never invested in the club and he just came here for the free paycheck. That's where the real problem lies with "rebuilding" a club under different owners as this isn't FIFA or Football Manager where you go out and sign 5 high potential Under-23 year old players and hope they become 85+ rated in 3 seasons time. As for Reece, if he was to move, he'd need to get serious about his fitness regime as top clubs won't sign him with that nasty injury record.
-
"Mediocre" yet majority of their starting lineup ended up playing regularly for both club & country (Dele Alli being the exception). Lloris, Toby, Jan, Trippier at the back. Son, Kane & Alli up front with Eriksen in midfield... Compare that experience to the team we are putting out every game and I can see why the opposition know how to pick us off. Opposition teams have it simple against the current Chelsea team, it's like put together a decent press, get on the counter and you'll likely make our defenders look like fools in the box and our midfield is non-existent as Enzo is playing too high and I'm not sure what position Caicedo plays and then you have Gallagher who just runs around like a dog all game but with zero defensive impact.
-
Not that I like supporting either of those teams, it would make me feel sick watching Arsenal win the title...especially after we gift wrapped them Jorginho for peanuts. At least if Liverpool do go on and win the title, the storyline will be Klopp's farewell tour...
-
No wonder why United fans were the first to say that American owners would definitely stuff up our club.....and that's exactly what has happened. At least they have Ratcliffe (who is a fan of the club) making some decisions now... Feel like Roman should have accepted that offer from Saudi/Qatar rather than Boehly's boys. At least we'd be competitive on most days like Newcastle, not have to watch these youngsters effectively play U-23 football in the senior side.
-
Heh, that's not surprising, Poch doesn't seem like the discipline type. Lack of coaching and not dropping players after poor performances has led to this. Players think they won't get dropped regardless of a shite performance. You think Mou/Conte would allow this to happen? Where's the leadership in the team? Was always going to be a mistake to put a bunch of 22-25 year olds together without any leaders on and off the pitch to guide them.
-
De Zerbi would be the obvious one as he's got relationships with Caicedo, Colwill, Mudryk.
-
That wouldn't have happened with someone like Conte in charge. Poch was selected because he was a YES man to the ownership group, same as Potter. I doubt either would have been selected as Chelsea managers during the Roman rein.
-
He would have been a much better fit at Liverpool as they already have a system in place. I'm yet to see a consistent system from Poch after 20+ games in the PL season, it's like every game is: get it to Palmer and co and hope for the best.
-
Another pathetic performance at home....I really do wonder how much longer Poch can stay as manager Other than Palmer who has actually improved under him?
-
If we are buying youngsters for 15+ million, where is the profit going to come from? Clubs aren't going to line up to buy our reserve players for 30+ million unless they are showing serious potential. That only works for academy products as the transfer fee is pure profit.
-
The article itself doesn't make sense....Angelo, Casadei and Santos didn't come through the academy, they were all bought for good sums of money....as for the rest of the list, Humphreys is the only one that could actually break into the side next season.
-
Villa are decent, take away Emery's coaching and they wouldn't be anywhere near top 4.
-
I thought Disasi was supposed to be the experienced signing as he's 25, not 22 and under like the rest of the CB's we have. Miss the days when we would make smart signings like Cahill, Ivanovic, Alex rather than splashing the cash on talented youngsters like Fofana.
-
Even if they did come for Reece, Colwill and others, they'd have to pay good money as most of our players are under long contracts. From memory it was only Gallagher/Maatsen who had the deals running out in 12-18 months.....would be very surprised if Gallagher is still here next season.
-
Why did you leave out Christensen and Kovacic? Both played roles in that UCL side. As for the current front three having more talent, does that really matter? Being able to produce on the big occasion is what matters and that's exactly what Havertz, Mount, Werner were able to do in that UCL run. I think the problem is that Poch isn't the coach to get the best out of this lot, doesn't seem to be able to change his tactics to the situation at all.
-
The funniest thing is, he'd probably do well at Bayern as their attack is already setup with Musiala, Sane, Kane and co.
