Unfortunately only an injury will force Sarri to rotate or rest Alonso. I just hope his usual drop in the second half of the season (due to fatigue) doesn't affect us badly then.
-
I don't know how sarri will do it, but he has to find a way to play emerson and zappacosta more. They provide the width that Alonso and Azpi could never dream to provide. The amount of forward runs they make and crosses they put in reminds me of Ashley cole and prime ivanovic. Sarri has to at least try emerson once in the first team lineup with Hazard. There is a reason why Guardiola spent 150mil on fullbacks and went on to win the league in record points, you can't have slow or defensive fullbacks in the modern game anymore. CHO's performance in his first start for sarri just shows how much willian is limited as a player. He was better in his end product and even dribbling, I just hope the Sarri experiment to test CHO on the right wing was in view to play him more regularly from the bench on that right wing. Giroud is by far better than Morata and it has been proved once again. Morata can cut his hair or change his jersey number all he wants but we cant rely on a moody striker to step up for us.
-
That looks bad. I didn't realize how bad it was, morata is not good for this team at all
-
I don't think we should blame Luiz too much for the second goal. He didn't want to get hurt, so he had to dodge. /s

Other teams have started figuring out his weakness, man-mark Jorginho and we fall like a pack of cards. Everton did it against us, we had to sub Jorginho out and now Tottenham have done it agaist us. We need a plan B, and David Luiz/Alonso will be the death of Sarri, every big team keeps attacking us through that wing but we dont seem to see that it is those two that are costing us. Alonso deceives us that he is a great attacker when he cant cross, dribble and is too slow to save his life. Azpilicueta is also getting on my nerves with his reluctance to attack, but at least he knows how to put in a cross like modern fullbacks do these days( not the fraud Alonso) Guardiola went and got two fast dribbling fullbacks Kyle walker and Mendy and won the league that season. He sold the slow Kolarov (Alonso) and the non-attacking Sagna(Azpi) to get better. Sarri is underestimating the importance of fullbacks as a whole to the system and that will be his downfall if he doesn't take it seriously.

Another average match. That's three average matches in the last four for chelsea. Any match he doesn't dribble well, chelsea struggle. I wish his other attributes (vision, runs off the ball, set-pieces) are as good as his dribbling as this is becoming too regular now. But it is damming on Chelsea that once Jorginho is man-marked and hazard doesn't dribble well then we struggle. Very annoying.

At the begining of the season, Hazard was on form, the best player in the world. He was finishing the chances by himself, getting into dangerous positions and affecting matches without caring if his teamates were letting him down. But now he's gone into a little shell and just completing final third passes. He needs to go back to his motivated self again. That injury he got from Ashley young's assaults has affected him a little.

We need finishers as our strikers not experiments.
-
We could have had 6 points if he just looked. Westham, Liverpool and now Everton.
-
He's lost form. Talked too much and didn't deliver this time. Maybe he'll come back recharged after the break.

Watching that Manutd vs City game, I just realized that Mourinho hasn't improved a single player since he took over. Alexis was far better at Arsenal, Lukaku was the top scorer at his last season with Everton, Matic was a title winner with Kante in midfield at Chelsea, Rashford was on fire under Van Gaal for United and England when he played as a central striker, Fred was amazing for Shaktar and was wanted by Man City, Mata was POTY for 2 seasons running at Chelsea, Pogba was a WC winner with France and one of the best midfield players in the world at Juventus, Bailly and Martial have huge potential that is being squandered at the moment. These are not all bad players. Some of them aren't the right standard, but they're not all awful.
-
Now we can all see the importance of Kante. No balance in the team at all, the defence is naked.
-
Also Jorginho
-
I know Aubameyang, Hazard and Martial are doing better than Morata. But I just wanted to compare morata to our rivals top strikers (Arsenal, ManUtd, Liverpool, Spurs) to see that they aren't fairing much better than Morata, especially in recent weeks.

The length City went to enhance their sponsorship deals..... damn just when you thought it couldn't get any shadier, it jumps into another abyss
-
What I liked the most was that he didnt fall on the ground at any opportunity. I think that is worse than even missing chances because our gameplay will be interrupted by constant loss of possession by morata. But against palace, morata used first time passes to quickly get the ball to another chelsea player, and avoid holding unto it looking for a foul. We already know his weakness with his finishing, anytime he has time to think before shooting, he misses 9 times out of 10. But anytime he has no time to think, he usually scores. The falling on the ground and losing the ball everytime was a bigger problem to me, and if he can learn to get the ball to a teammate quickly with first time passes or be strong on his feet, the team as a whole will play much better.

I always wondered how Manchester city suddenly had more sponsorship deals than chelsea. Including making more revenue than chelsea for the past 3 years now. Now I see why, inflated sponsorship figures

He's doing better under Sarri, hopefully he misses only one clear chance per game and scores the others. We could still challenge for the title. Gabriel Jesus: 1 goal. 296min/Goal. - Bobby Firmino: 2 goals. 414min/Goal. - Romelu Lukaku: 4 goals. 192min/Goal. - ALVARO MORATA: 5 goals. 121min/Goal. - Mo Salah: 5 goals. 189min/Goal. - Lacazette: 5 goals. 161min/Goal. - Harry Kane: 6 goals. 164min/Goal.

I don't know if it's just me but Fabinho looked terrible today. Almost Bakayoko level performance. Monaco definitely scammed us all

It just goes to show how important the quartet of Jorginho, Luiz, Rudiger and Kepa are to us to start attacks and maintain control. Derby man marked fabregas, and he couldn't get out because of his poor mobility and this caused Cahill and Christensen to have the ball a lot more. But they have no creative ability like Rudiger and Luiz so we couldn't create passes between the lines as usual. If people press us high, Kepa finds passes straight to Alonso or Hazard from deep and Rudiger finds Morata or Hazard with long range passes, Caballero, Christensen and especially Cahill were terrible at this. Once the foundation from the buildup play is iffy, then the rest of the team cant cope. Credit to Derby for pressing us high like a big team but our team B didn't cover themselves in glory.
