Grant Enjoys The Pressure
Fulham Broadway replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Lol, I expect Ramos could outsmart him quiet easily, but we have the far superior squad. We play the yids after Sunderland and am quite certain normal service will be resumed there. -
Deport the Aussie cunt I say. Not just for that overhead kick, either
-
Thought you were joking when you said you were off to Milan Fair play. He was definitely the young beacon in an ageing Milan team.
-
Cuntish in the exteme I reckon. He's now apologised and said it was an ''emotional time for him and his family''. Aussie prick. Like it wasnt for the victim ?? The attack on 11 July 2004, left the victim partially blinded after CCTV spotted Sean Cahill kicking his victim in the head twice as he lay on the floor. Police found the victim semi-conscious and bleeding heavily and speaking in January, Detective Constable Will Hope described the attack as "brutal and terrifying".

Grant Enjoys The Pressure

The truth is he's been sent a lifeline since the Wembley shambles; Luckily for him the charlatan has an easy fixture list; W Ham Olympiakos Barnsley Derby Sunderland No potential banana skins there, and he'll have that horrible toothy grin for a while yet. -
I should cocoa. Good news is their pacey winger Galetti ? and Lua Lua are injured. Their striker Darko has said we're a completely different team than under Mourinho. Strange I thought it was the same team. Must be the Greek drugs. Stats wise we're the best CL team so far. We will win this.
-
Thought there was thread for him already ? did a search and nothing came up. Anyway, watched the gooners win in Milan last night, and he showed brilliance for an 18 year old. Beat five gooners on one run. Sure we were linked with him at some point, but he chose the Italians over us, or something. Just the sort of winger we could do with by the looks.

Its Citys first season in the second tier for a decade. They have been in the top flight before, and 3 times I've seen them beat us at Ashton Gate.

Grant - relishing the pressure. GRANT ENJOYING BLUES PRESSURE http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?you=htt...ea_Grant.insdat By Mike McGrath, PA Sport Avram Grant is relishing the pressure that comes with guiding Chelsea towards success - even if it means upsetting members of his squad. Chelsea face Olympiacos on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, and Grant again has to find the successful formula as his club seek a place in the last eight of the Champions League. Against Tottenham in the Carling Cup final it was Michael Ballack and Joe Cole who missed out, while Didier Drogba was rested at the weekend in the Barclays Premier League. It is this competition for places that Grant feels will keep Chelsea in the hunt for three trophies this season. "Any player that is in the squad expects to play," he said. "I don't want to be with a squad where players don't want to play. We are a big squad with good players. "Only 11 can play - I checked, to play with more, but they don't allow it. "Any formation or 11 I pick, there will be big players on the bench. "The bench is very important for us, and also the players not in the squad. This is life in a big club." Keeping the squad happy is a problem Grant is mastering. "Life in football today is a lot of pressure," he added. "I think it is good - because when you are in a big club it pushes you always to achieve the best things. "I think it is good pressure. I like it, personally." However, Grant was lost for words to describe what failure against Olympiacos would mean - with the Greek champions earning a goalless draw in the first leg of the last-16 clash. "If we will not qualify ..... I don't know the word, I think you know it better than me," he said. England midfielder Cole, meanwhile, has bought into the idea of the whole squad needing to be utilised during the season. "For me, my job is to play for Chelsea when selected and play as well as I can," said Cole. "I don't pay attention to any of the drama surrounding this football club. My job is to perform as well as I can, and that's what I'll do. "I think that applies for every big club - Manchester United, Arsenal - all the top clubs in England have big player left out. "As footballers, you are responsible for one thing and one thing only - and that's your performance. That is regardless of everything on and off the pitch. "I hope I play, and all I'm concerned with is 'can I help Chelsea get a result From Sporting Life Grant ''only 11 can play, I checked if you can play with more''. The worrying thing is, he probably did.

BONN, March 3 (RIA Novosti) - Roman Abramovich, Russia's richest man, is believed to have bought a new luxury yacht, a Russian-language newspaper based in Germany reported Monday. The yacht, moored near the Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW) shipbuilding facility in Kiel for the past week, is widely believed to be Abramovich's new toy, although no official reports on the owner have yet been released, Russkaya Germania said. Details regarding the mega-yacht with a distinctive military look have been shrouded in secrecy. But Sigma, the vessel's project name, is known to have been built by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg. Its original length of 118 meters (about 400 feet) is rumored to have been increased to 130 meters (about 430 feet) at HDW, both companies being part of the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems group. The futuristic yacht was created by French designer Philippe Starck. The yacht is currently undergoing sea trials and is to be handed over to the owner in April, the paper said. The value of the vessel has not been disclosed. Abramovich, who owns Chelsea Football Club and is also governor of Chukotka, a remote region in Russia's Far East, is already owner of several multi-million dollar yachts. His penchant for yachts dates back to 1999, when he bought his first two from fellow Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky. The largest and most expensive yacht in his collection is so far Pelorus. The 115-meter-long (380-feet) vessel is worth over $100 million. It is fitted out with bullet-proof glass, anti-missile systems, cameras and sensors to detect intruders, two helicopter pads, an indoor swimming pool and a full-time crew of 42 people living on board. The security-conscious Abramovich is also rumored to have his yachts crewed entirely by ex-SAS personnel, British commandos. Abramovich, who lives mainly in London, often entertains his Russian business partners, British financiers and Chelsea players aboard his luxury boats, making voyages to Monaco, Portofino, Cannes, as well as to South America and the Caribbean. From Novosti -Russian News. He likes his boats, thats his 5th I think

Too right. If he'd been qualified, had a proven track record, mentioned in the same breath as Capello, Lippi, Mourinho -the squad, and fans would have accepted him. As it is.......... http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r14/shi...if?t=1204559024

True Mike the players are professionals at the end of the day. Surely the big problem here is the fact (if true), that the players had to hold a meeting separate from Grant ? Not only this but snubbed the allotted time when they were supposed to be with him ? This wouldn't happen with Ferguson, (lol can you imagine) Wenger, Mourinho -any other coach.
-
Go to their home games sometimes -the atmosphere is like Pompey, fucking electric. They would win 50% of their Premiership home games, IF they buy 3 or 4 good players, and Gary Johnson doesnt fuck off. Every team gets £30 million TV money in the Premeiership automatically, even the teams that go down get £30 million 'parachute' money as well.

Chelsea To Contest Lampard Red Card
Fulham Broadway replied to PaulHopkins's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Fucken' stupid I reckon, especially after that Boro bloke got his suspension increased. They wont rescind it. Accept the three ban -we can win without him -
Probably some truth in that. Moved to Rumour Mill, and can we have the source ?

Chelsea Owner Abramovich Backing Grant
Fulham Broadway replied to love cfc's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Every managers job is 'safe'. Losing the job is like a car accident, you dont see it coming. 'not in immediate jeopardy' sounds hopeful though. -
The 3 remaining trophies or Grant out -would go for the 3 trophies definitely. If we won 2, Abramovich would see him as doing the job ok and he'd stay anyway It would still be despite him though What about you ?
-
Was thinking that as well. The players that were omitted for the Yids game were more than likely to come out and show what they could do. Guaranteed we''l spank the yids next time we play them as well. lol at Curbishley; "If you took the goals out of it, it was obviously quite even."
-
Agree E. Obviously theres some doubt over the credibility of any press story, but there seems too much smoke at the moment. You look at the body language between Grant and all the staff, Clarke, and the players, they dont respect him. Everyone seems to be masking the fact that they dont think he should be there.

Grant 'snubbed' by players Duncan Castles Sunday March 2, 2008 The Observer Avram Grant was snubbed three times by Chelsea's playing staff in the wake of last weekend's League Cup final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. The Israeli manager, who accused the media of disseminating 'lies' about his position ahead of yesterday's emphatic win at West Ham, saw his authority questioned after calling a team meeting on Tuesday morning. Though Grant, who says there is 'no problem' in his relationship with the players, scheduled the training ground gathering for 11am, his squad failed to turn up at the designated time. Upon instructing a club employee to summon them for the session, he was informed that the players were holding a separate meeting of their own that would not finish for another 10 minutes. When the squad still had not assembled at that time, Grant made his way to the players, only to be told they still had matters to discuss and was asked to leave the room. The manager did so without complaint. Once the players had concluded their gathering, they again proved uncooperative. Seeking to end reports of squad discontent at his handling of the final, Grant asked the players to voice any concerns. It is understood that because they were worried that what they said would be relayed to owner Roman Abramovich, no team member spoke up. Grant had been called in to Cobham the previous day when Abramovich demanded talks with the first team's entire coaching staff. Unprecedented in the past four seasons at Chelsea, the Russian's request resulted in Grant cancelling an arrangement with the Israel Football Federation to study for the Uefa Pro-Licence he must obtain to continue managing the team next season. Abramovich had also spent a significant length of time in the Chelsea dressing room at Wembley after Sunday's 2-1 defeat, been present for each of the team's final three training days before the final and held private discussions with Grant on the eve of the game. There remains considerable discontent among the Chelsea squad about preparations for the final. Having witnessed Abramovich address Michael Essien about errors in his play after a Champions League group game this season, some players believe the owner influences team selection and strategy through his deputy Eugene Tenenbaum. Grant partially denied this on Friday, saying: 'Roman Abramovich has never even seen me about one player that he needs to play, never said to me anything about picking the team.' Whoever did choose Sunday's team and tactics, the players were unhappy that they did not know who they would be playing alongside nor which formation they would be using until the day of the game. Ashley Cole learned of his omission in the pages of a national newspaper, Michael Ballack believed he was to start only to be supplanted by Shaun Wright-Phillips, while Alex was asked if he would stand down for John Terry on the Saturday. 'It was frustrating,' Alex told Brazilian television last week. 'The boss called me over to talk on Saturday. He told me that I'd been playing well, but it's the English cup and that Terry is the captain, he has to play. He asked me if there was any problem and I said, "No, no problem at all. I'm here to do my job."' From Thursday onwards, senior players had asked whether the team would be playing in their customary 4.3.3 formation or another shape to accommodate the selection of Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka as joint strikers for the first time. They were told to 'wait and see' and 'not to worry' about the issue. Adding to the tension was Terry's nervousness over being passed over for the in-form Alex. During Saturday's final training session the captain's unease spilled over into a fight with Henk ten Cate, ostensibly over the assistant coach's whistle-happy interruptions of a practice match to chide midfielder John Obi Mikel. Terry was not reassured of his place until 11pm on Saturday night. Grant's job is not in immediate jeopardy. Abramovich has too much invested in the appointment of an under-qualified coach to one of European football's top positions to dispense with him after one Wembley defeat. Sources close to the owner insist he has not moved to change the manager nor sanctioned any approach to the Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard. An uneasy atmosphere does remain at the club, though. Piet de Visser, who acts as a private adviser to Abramovich on football matters, is an important influence, having recommended several player purchases and the appointment of chief scout Frank Arnesen. Grant's relationship with Arnesen is described as 'frosty'. Chelsea last night declined to comment on when Ashley Cole and Ballack discovered they were not in the cup final line-up.

Could be because hes an easy target JBD -and the most successful ex hammer. They're the jealous ex lover. Could just be because hes fat. Anyway he always has a good game against them in spite of it.

Moved to Rumour Mill. Source please.

Moved to Rumour Mill. Clarke is bound to consider his options as a No1 at a club. It should be Chelsea atm, with Grant sidelined.

If We Must Win The Premier League

Yeah I would have thought so. And some more games as well. Arsenal and ManU drawing against each other might help as well. And them losing a few as well, could increase the chance
