  1. Would rather send Torres out on loan, maybe he would find form, I'm sure Vitesse could use a striker.
  2. I'm hearing that PSG may be signing him as Mourinho doesn't think he can fit him into his plans, evidenced by his being subbed off on Friday and our signing of Willian and Schurrle. It will be a real shame to lose him and Mata in one window . . . Sorry just making fun of the panicking going on in the Mata thread.
  3. Just to clarify on a common misconception, he never actually said that, it was a made up quote that I don't think was even made up in 2004 but has somehow become viewed as fact despite having no source. That's the power of the internet I guess.
  4. I think it just means we don't consider Liverpool and Arsenal our rivals, if we were aiming for top 4 they would be but we want the title. I kind of like these loan deals, it strengthens their teams for games against the manchester clubs while leaving them without key players in their games against us.
  5. Haven't seen much of Lamela, be interested to see how he does.
  6. Any more injuries and Arsenal won't be able to fill the sub's bench, its all good though, I hear Bendtner is coming back.
  7. Don't know who to go for in this one, spurs have bought well but I don't really consider either side as challengers. It would be amusing to see Arsenal lose their first two games at home though and I'm only ahead by a single point in fantasy head to head and it looks like I'm going to need a Giroud own goal and sending off to keep my lead.
  8. and more importantly gave me some much needed fantasy points.
  9. Moyes's stellar record away to the old top 4 clubs still intact.
  10. Remember when Oscar didn't have the physicality for league, criminally underated.
  11. They play some tidy stuff, I remember our youth side under Brendan were similarly entertaining, not a lot of end product though. For Liverpool that is, our youth side got bags of goals.
  12. Come on this is just part of the Liverpool cycle, a few early wins and its their year, it makes it that much better when their title challenge falls apart around January.
  13. I know, I wanted them to lose but its almost better because after their preseason I think some realism had crept in, got a flukey win and all of a sudden their favorites for the title.
  14. Welbeck been taking lessons from young I see.
  15. What is Anelka doing playing for West Brom, I thought he had quit football for personal reasons or something and took him off my fantasy team, at least sinclair is getting a start.
  16. Yeah we really played not to lose and play on the counter but united kept so many men back it didn't work out. We also seemed really sloppy, can't remember how many times we had a goal kick or an attempted counter end back up with united, shame as they really seem to be there for the taking, still its a good point in arguably our second most difficult game.
  17. I know, just quoting some United fans who seem especially bitter that Eden chose us, Kagawa seems to become a better player to them the longer he's off the pitch, similar to how they think anderson would be world class if he didn't get injured so often. Could see van persie getting sent off this game if the ref can find his nerve, not known for keeping his cool.
  18. United getting frustrated, nice to see the ref not buckling, commentator just said that Moyes's record at anfield is due to them having pretty good sides during his tenure at Everton, I can understand 08-09 but they haven't exactly been lighting up the premier league for the past decade.
  19. Funny how "better than Hazard" Kagawa can't get a game but 40 year old giggs gets the start, heres hoping scholes comes back out of retirement.
  20. Liverpool actually look pretty decent this season, they have signed well and if they can keep it up they may be in the running for 4th. It will be interesting to see how spurs new signings fit in and how they cope without bale, you'd think that they would be favorites over arsenal but then it seems that way every season and wenger somehow manages.
  21. I love how much he winds up opposition fans, funny hearing united fans complain about him criticizing refereeing decisions, they've forgotten about Sir Alex "He could have killed him" Ferguson so quickly, at least he didn't say the ref was too fat.
  22. This could be a brilliant signing. Given our past our recent history signing strikers I'm keeping my fingers crossed but even so getting what was in my opinion the best striker in the world a few years ago on a free transfer and with a pay cut is quite a deal. He's still got some years left in him and I don't think he was really giving his all at anzhi and if Jose can get him motivated and back even to somewhere near his best it would be superb. I just watched this video of all his goals for inter. With eden, oscar, schurrle, kevin, juan, willian etc. providing it has the potential to be brilliant. I think Lukaku could learn a lot from him as well.
  23. Thought he did very well when he came on, difficult circumstances but he managed to get on the ball a few times and harried their defenders, would have liked to see him come on before the red as I feel he could have had more of an impact. I think the penalty will be good for him in the long run, better now than in the champions league final and it will drive him on to prove himself in the coming games. Being only 20 and taking the decisive penalty in a European cup final says it all about him really.
  24. He got the ball but then he left his foot in so you can understand the card, not as bad as some were making it out to be, not like he came in two footed. Felt the ref was really inconsistent in the way he was handing out cards though I don't know what half of them were for.
