Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi! Like most Aussies in the early/mid 80's was subjected to wall to wall coverage of Liverpool (thanks to Craig Johnston's tenious Australian link) and had to follow the peer pressure Then in April 1989 ... went on a European school trip and on it spent a week in London (and a week in Paris & WW1 Somme battlefields but that is another story...). So on one weekend, school group had tickets to a Spurs/somebody else game or Chelsea/Leeds game. My hand went in the hat & pulled out a ticket to Stamford Bridge Got a seat in the Old West Stand .... was dumbstruck by the atmosphere! Can't remember much about the game at all. Another faux-Aussie Tony Doriego was playing is all I recall. Won 1-0 I think? Crowd went ballistic after the game (not knowing at the time & finding out in the newspaper the next day that win sent CFC up to Div 1). Got myself a CFC shirt (which I have to this day ... but can't fit into anymore ) So been BLUE ever since that day .... God knows what would've happened if I had pulled that Spurs ticket out of our teachers hat instead! 22 years later find myself back at Stamford Bridge, totally different place than what I remembered. Go on a Stadium Tour & drool .... then see Torres, Ramires & Drogba smash Swansea In between so many late nights watching Foxtel (get off my screen Bozza!) or trying to listen to dodgy audio streams and then there was May 19 2012
