I have to admit i have only seen him play once. there he looked a bit wild. I am not sure he is any better than Emerson defensively. But apparently we are looking for an attack-minded fullback not defensively super solid one.

I would love this to bea boring draw but knowing us this will be super tight where we either collapse in the last second or somehow get it over the line hanging on for our lives. Wolves are a very competent side I dont want to see Jorginho from the start. we need energy in the middle,their midfielders and central defenders are notexactly quick and can be vulnerable when isolated and run at. Our match plan for most of the restart has been to work free a player onthe right to cross to Giroud. I can imagine, Boly and coady will be rather comfortable with this approach. but if we are able to get behind their wingbacks and isolate pulisic vs one of their cbs, i can see us getting pens. Obviously we are gonna start the match by wasting 5 glorious chances as usual.

Have to agree. Put last season's Hazard in Lampard's Chelsea and I could have seen us 75-80 points. All those chances we created, Hazard would have scored a few more and created some of his own. Plus our next best offensive midfielder from last year, RLC was injured almost the whole season, Pulisic our current best attacker was injured for almost half the season as well. Lampard has forged an attacking system that has allowed a pure poacher( and not even a class one)like Tammy to score a decent amount of goals and now has Giroud score almost every game. I think some here are giving Lampard way too much stick. Wait at least the next two games. If we win both, the season can be called a success. It is almost as if some people on here want him to fail, which is weird for a fan. Sure, if he doesnt fit the defence by next season, he wont succeed but he should be allowed some mistakes given the shit situation in which he took over.

But they were not Pep players either. He did not buy them but inherited them. Also he sat Müller on the bench a lot. We know pep wants his AMs to be as nimble as possible

Doesn’t strike me as a Pep player. Too direct and way too tall for an attacker compared to his usual suspects.

Their length, strength and the speed he is able to move them. But he has so many problem areas, physical, technical and mental that I don’t think he will ever be a world class goalie. Even if he somehow recovers his confidence. It amazes me how he even managed to become a professional athlete with such remarkably average physical characteristics, middling talent and football intelligence. If you go to the nearby Highschool, pick a random lanky teen and train him reasonably well to be a goalkeeper for 10years, he would probably do just as good/bad as Kepa. I can’t find any personal dislike for him tho. Even after the shit he pulled with Sarri subbing him off which was an unprecedented act. He just seems a guy in the wrong job. Should have been a much better ornithologist

Whilst I think it is nothing to aim for and below our level as well as financially devastating, a season of EL could benefit us in the long term, blooding in more youngsters and having enough games to keep a bloated squad happy it also renders us a great chance of winning a trophy.

If that is everything he does then I prefer Kovacic who is 3rd in final third passed and at least can defend and dribble a bit. Much more complete player
