Brighton on the other end stillfight for survival. so there will be a massive gap in motivation. Really hope we will keep our composure and see this off. I still do not think that league results are completely meaningless now. no guarantee Super league will supplant CL as early as next season.
-
I still do not like the type of player he represents but he surprised me with how he handled himself vs City of all teams. Was a great, composed performance. Did not get overrun, the opposite in fact.
-
Smart move from TT to dodge all questions about Super League despite the best efforts from journalists to unnerve him. He has a mammoth task at his hands now to motivate the players all the same.
-
yup that is peanuts for us. I thought it would be 3.5bn per club lol
-
Apparently DFB has confirmed that they will probably not nominate super league players. Rejoice!
-
Here we go. The players hold too much power for Fifa to actually go through with this. World cup or EC will be meaningless if the best players are out.
-
No one would watch the league anymore that is why it would be suicide for PL to apply any kind of meaningful punishment. The clubs know they are in the position of power here. Especially as they have signalled to cooperate with the domestic leagues. The real battle will be about international football.
-
The Pl is never gonna kick the big 6 out. I think the major reason why the leagues and uefa are threatening with the big guns is that they actually do not have the legal power to exclude specific players for their club affiliations or dock off points/ban teams on will. The leagues have no interest punishing their best teams.
-
the only reason they are delying this is bc they want to win a CL first.
-
this is entirely possible. Could easily be just a bluff or a reaction that the CL reform is not enough for those clubs. But JPM is seirous about this and they would not try if they wer enot confident those clubs would pull through. Either way something in football is broken now without repair.

watching this like long given up about feeling anything about the business side in football, fatalistic amusement is all that is left
-
governed by cleptocratic smurph and a corrupted post-communist elite

This. TT also was very pragmatic at Mainz, copying the opponents system with man marking in many matches. He is overall a pragmatic coach as can be seen with the variety of systems employed. His main philosophy is as he says be bold in defence and quick in attack. +suck the life of others teams with resoluteness and monopolizing posession. Only at Dortmund he had a very attacking set up with many players floodingthe opponents box.But that is bc it is dortmunds identity to play like this. Other than than TT has always had a clear concept of strong defensive foundation.
-
My guess is that they did in on purpose at this precise point in the most crucial phase of the season bc it piles immense pressure on UEFA to act. 3 of 4 clubs in CL semifinals are Super league founding members. No matter how UEFA decides they will lose, either they kick everyone out of CL and completely embarrass themselves as sore losers, piss off the whole footballing community or they let everything go ahead which can be seen as a sign of submission.
-
Yup. as i said in the match thread the timing could not have been worse. No idea what they were thinking not simply waiting till the season is over.
-
They will make PsG win it by their usual ref corruption but they will never kick teams out. They are too greedy. Also would completely ruin their negotiation basis. This is all a big game.In the end the leagues and uefa will agree to super league as long as they get a piece of the cake. The announcement today and the statements by the leagues and uefa were just the opening shots and establishment of starting positions. they will meet somewhere in the middle.
-
read this at the same tiwtter account : Try that again (long day). Told, at the moment, it's unlikely that the 'founders' still involved in this season's Champions League (Chelsea, City, Real Madrid) will get booted out.

will be fascinating to see how it unfolds. I understand the anger and frustration of our fans. Esp after getting hopes up for the season finale. Imagine how fans of middling clubs like Frankfurt, Wolfsburg, Leicester, Westham must feel. The moment they hustle into europe's premier compeititon it is no more lol. This is a historic moment. Changes in world sports of this magnitude happen once in a lifetime. It is now obvious no one in football gives a shit about fans' feeling anymore. There is nothing we can do about it. So one can either choose to walk away for which i have the utmost respect or lean back and watch the explosions from afar. If this is not entertaining what is.
-
the English clubs if they do not kicked out of PL at least still have the edge of a competitive and better endowed domestic league. Also they are 6 so the odds of an English club dominating are at least numerically enhanced. But yeah short term barca real are main beneficiaries as they once more evade bankcruptcy.
-
The timing is terrible. all the players now have their heads in the clouds... should i leave the club so i can sitll play the world cup? do we even need to win this? why the f did they not simply wait after the season is over... duds
-
maybe. when everyone is rich, the biggest brands win which would be Real and Manure... we will see.
-
exactly. Fifa, uefa they just fear for their own existence. They dont give a fuck about the fans, they just want to instrumentalize them, create an outrage using words like "tradition", "historic", "solidarity" and their fear of change to retain the status quo. When everyone is corrupt why not have corrupt clubs battle it out instead of having a super-corrupt meta-organisatin like uefa fixing matches on top of it.
-
Our record in the big games is immaculate. Euro super league could be TT's competition
-
Cutting ties with corrupted UEFA, Fifa who are average entrepreneurs in terms of marketing the most popular sport anyway has nothing to do with having no soul. PSG will join at a later point but they did not want to ruin their last shot at CL. I do not like the makeup of this with perez as chair etc but in principle this move makes sense. The clubs participating in Super league will draw ahead of the rest. Enlgish clubs keep their dominance bc they have 6 clubs in there whilst the others have max3 so far. With the extra revenue our club will finally arrive in the group of historic super clubs for good. WE will easily be able to afford a new shiny stadium. Also if Fifa really exclude players from world cup this could eventually mean the end of international football and a dream come true.
