So the first one is literally just the total appearances of all the players that played for the first team that are a product of that teams academy. Thats how they're ranked and there is also information on how many players that's divided between. Its just showing which teams are relying on their academy products/creating good academy players. the second one is looking more at their contribution to the team. How many games are they starting, and how many goals are they contributing type thing. would be good to look at point contribution, but its a lot of work! some teams rate their academies highly, some teams have them for the sake of it - just in case they find a worldie. Yeovil scrapped their academy last year because they hadn't brought a player through in something like 15 years (not sure exactly how many years). some academies are more efficient than others - Crewe topped this list, they also seem to produce a lot of players that go off in to the higher leagues - and this makes them their money maker. It's quite cool seeing it all in numbers and just how much of a difference there is between clubs. Man City were the lowest ranked out of all the league winners. with their impressive new facilities though they should be producing the best players in the world in the near future.
-
Yeah working on it for another club. Man city were about 78th in the total list. Its more of a project for clubs with very little external income.
-
The second one isn't finished yet... as you can see. Im not entirely sure I am allowed to share though, I will find out. the big list of 92 teams should be okay to share, I'll double check though.
-
I've been doing some work at the moment and thought Id share. I've been looking at the first team contribution of players grown at their club. Out of the 92 teams in the top 4 leagues we rank 52nd for apps contribution (Southampton are the highest ranking premier league club at 10th). At the bottom of the last one shows a % contribution. Don't know if its readable but we are at about 6%. Arsenal and Aston Villa were in the 20% range. I know it doesn't mean much to teams like our self, but thought it was interesting and worth sharing.

I've got a horrible feeling someone big is going to be sold. Good player but why are we buying so many attacking mids!? Jose obviously has a plan or is seeing something in our players that we aren't. And I know it'll work out well cuz Jose never makes mistakes, but it does confuse me.
-
A good result. I don't like how we lined up for it and the tactics of the game. But it is a good result. Why no mata? Why no Lukaku? Why no forward passing? Why no attacking? A great defensive display though, we were solid. Good result. I'm worried for mata and Lukakus future though...
-
the thing I like about this is that we will rip the balls of spurs with this. jose said he'd have to loan somebody out and assuming willian would be a striker I see either lukaku or ba being loaned. I personally hope ba would be loaned. I dont think we need anotherstriker but as it looks like jose really wants one id be happy with willian. ..

Let me know if you find one on an ipad. And vice versa

Would love to see Lukaku start this (which im very sure he will), with KdB Mata and Hazard behind him. I've got a feeling Hazard wont start, we may see Schurrle instead with Hazard coming on as a sub at some point. a solid 3 points is what we need here. cant afford slip ups this early on. 3-0 Chelsea
-
"Respect your elders" is the message i think. seriously though, i understand what you are saying. i personally dont think van Ginkel is ready for the prem just yet, he'll need a few appearances of the bench for a while. Lukaku is way more than ready, i honestly think the striker selection today is 100% tactical. like i said, when Lukaku plays, he's under very different orders from when Torres has played.
-
I don't understand why people are so pissed of at Torres starting. Lukaku will come on as a sub for sure and will most likely start against Villa. Torres is good, and from what was seen in pre season when torres plays, his role is more of a rotational one letting the 3 behind him attack more. It looks like Jose understand we cant play with a lone striker up top as hull will probably defend pretty hard, instead he's opting for hte attacking 4 to just run at them and rotate like a nice 5 a side type tactic. itll tire hull out defensively pretty quick and we should get more opportunities this way.
-
I love how our bench looks a thousand times better than last season. and thats excluding a lot of players as well!
-
KdB better start this game. ive given in to all the chit chat in here saying those who had extended breaks probably wont play. got rid of Mata in the fantasy football for KdB. dont do me over here TalkChelsea. dont do me over.
-
I wouldnt worry too much. Lukaku is good enough. KdB is not as good as Mata, but him Hazard and Oscar will destroy Hull and we have numerous CB that can cover for Luiz. Ivanovic on the right. we got this bro. we got this. but Im not happy with the way my fantasy team is lining up at the moment. doesnt look like a winning team at the moment.
-
Luiz and Mata are in my fantasy team... guess ill take them out and put in KdB annnnnnnnnnnd Ivan. proper gamble. could pay off, or could just get me 1 point each....
-
for the reported £5mill i wouldnt complain (assuming wage is also respectable). but i honestly dont think we need him. I would rather him over Rooney though. if rooney comes its gonna upset all our strikers and I really want Lukaku to get a bunch of games for us this season. We've got a great team as we are and Jose is going to make them better players than they were last season. lets just keep it as it is and save some money.

A visual comparison of Lukaku and Torres vs. Real Madrid
dumps replied to danvernon's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Not sure whether it was a tactical thing or not but Lukaku played as that lone drogba like striker role whereas Torres was more of a rotating number 10, and sharing that striker role like it was an in play rotation allowing the attacking mids to run in. that to me is a tactical thing to suit those strikers who are very different. I like this because it gives us two effective options to use when we need it. I also would say that was a bad game by Lukaku. i think on his day he would have come across a lot better. Maybe because it was a big team? i dunno, a hat trick Vs man united on the last day of the season seems to suggest he doesnt care about the team he's facing... -
How do i delete the thread?

---------------Cech-------------- Azpi---Ivanovic---Terry---Cole --------Lampard---Luiz--------- KdB---------Mata--------Hazard -------------Lukaku--------------- Bench: Schwarzer, Cahill, Bertrand, Schurrle, Oscar, Ramires, Torres. That leaves Moses, Ba, Mikel, Van Ginkel and Essien out of the squad Thats was actually tougher than I thought it would be! I personally think Mourinho will play Torres ahead of Lukaku. Would probably give Terry and Lamps a reduced amount of time on the pitch. I think he would also play Luiz at CB and use Ramires at DM. Essien will probably play a fair bit in that role as well. KdB will probably start only a few games and probably used as a substitue mostly with Moses/Oscar seeing more time as a starter. Im really happy with the quality of depth in our squad though. especially compared to last season.

The season starts next weekend. I want to know who your strongest starting XI would be (and subs bench). Its the strongest team you think we have. -
mmm yeah. the EPL. ohhh baby. Can't wait. this game is so hard to call. My best bet would be Hull to go 1-0 up within 10 minutes then us to run out comfortable 4-1 winners. they will come out hard and play a good game. newly promoted, Vs a top team, they are going to be so up for it. but we've had a great pre season, so i cant see us losing it, but i can see Hull shaking us a bit. I hope KdB starts and I hope he's a huge part of our first team this season, he's been super impressive.
-
sick to the stomach at this. I hope its not true. The only thing making me believe its not true, is that it was rejecting. what moron would reject an offer like that?! so it cant be true.
-
its a perfect signing. its a position we needed, its an experienced player close to home, and its a free transfer. could not have been better. dont think it'll mean we will win the season though... calm down! bring in a DM and then let Jose do some magic and we are serious title contenders. good sensible buisness (until we find out he's on 100k a week )
-
it would be a great signing if it meant losing either Torres or Ba. Lukaku, Benteke and Torres OR Ba (id prefer Torres) is a strong line up in terms of choice of first team strikers. Sure theres no Cavani or Falcao, but we've a solid attacking midfield, and those strikers would be more than capable of putting in a title contending amount of goals. I dont see him coming to us though, hes off to spurs in my opinion. or arsenal maybe - prob for the best at £35mill!
-
why did we buy him in the first place? he's useful interms of depth and cover. but he cant really contirbute anything. we are just going to keep on loaning him out andend up selling him for 3 mill. shame.
