WHEN my son Shaun played for Chelsea, I would go to Stamford Bridge regularly. After a while, I stopped. The amount of moaning and complaining coming from certain sections of the stands was unbelievable. I'd never heard anything like it. In the end, it got to the point when I'd just had enough of it. My seat was near the players who were not involved. Just in front of us, there was one bloke who, win or lose, did not stop complaining. He was never happy, even with a convincing home win. Chelsea are plotting a January swoop for West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green following a series of below-par performances from Petr Cech. With Cech off the pace, Chelsea have been alerted to the fact that Green has attracted firm interest from Sunderland and Aston Villa, who both want to do business next month, as the Daily Express revealed on Saturday. Cech, the Chelsea No1, was peerless in the Premier League before his skull fracture three years ago. Recently his indecision has led to a previously reliable defence shipping goals and conceding points. Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has been reluctant to point the finger at Cech, but Chelsea have conceded 11 of their 13 league goals from set-pieces this season, proof enough that Cech and his defenders no longer have the kind of understanding that previously made them such an iron-clad outfit. Cech is getting caught in no-man’s land, either not advancing for balls in the box or coming out and being left stranded, and Chelsea are running out of patience. West Ham are almost resigned to losing Green and have alerted staff to search for cover. Manager Gianfranco Zola feels reserve keepers Marek Stech and Peter Kurucz lack the experience to go straight into the Premier League. A deal with Villa could lead to veteran Brad Friedel moving to West Ham while, at the other end of the age spectrum, Zola’s scouts are tracking Huddersfield’s Alex Smithies, 19, who has also interested Stoke. West Ham’s options as far as purchasing players is concerned appeared to have improved last night with the news that David Gold and David Sullivan have lodged a firm bid of £50million to buy the club. dailyexpress

PETR CECH has launched a bitter attack on the Chelsea boo-boys. The keeper is furious with home fans who jeered after the 3-3 draw with Everton. Cech said: "I was very surprised to hear the boos from the crowd because this was our first Premier League draw at home all season. "Look at the games we have played here, in the league, the Champions League and the Carling Cup and you will see all the clean sheets we have kept and all the goals we have scored. "So I was really surprised to hear the supporters' reaction. Surprised because I don't understand it." Cech insists he should not be singled out for blame - despite all three Everton goals coming from set-plays. He said: "We lost a lot of the first headers. But it is not an individual responsibility at set-plays. It is collective." Chelsea are closing in on a British record £40million deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero. In the last few days, Chelsea have met representatives of IMG, Aguero’s agents, to discuss a deal that would eclipse the £32.5m Manchester City paid for Robinho in August 2008. Senior Chelsea club officials were involved in the discussions and sufficient progress has been made in the last two weeks for all parties to be confident that the deal will be wrapped up soon. Chelsea will be without midfielder Deco for Saturday's Barclays Premier League home clash with Everton at Stamford Bridge. Deco misses out because his father is ill and defender Alex (thigh) and Salomon Kalou (thigh) are also sidelined. However, both Alex and Kalou are expected to be fit for the home game with Portsmouth next week. Jose Bosingwa is out with a long-term knee injury. Coach Carlo Ancelotti will recall Petr Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, Ashley Cole, Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard and Nicolas Anelka after resting them for the midweek Champions League game against APOEL. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/11122009/63/deco-miss.html

Chelsea are lining up a £10million January bid for Shakhtar Donetsk right-back Darijo Srna. The 27-year-old defender is under contract until 2011 but, according to the Evening Standard, the Ukrainians will not stand in his way as the Blues have already made contact about the player. The Croatia international, who has been at Shakhtar since 2003, said: 'The truth is I have two definite offers from top clubs in Europe, but I cannot name them. That would not be right.' Chelsea have moved into pole position to land Ajax's highly-rated forward Luis Suarez. The Premier League leaders have made the most of their contacts in Holland by setting up a deal to bring the Uruguay international to Stamford Bridge next year. Any transfer would be dependent on the London club's appeal against a transfer ban being successful but it is understood that everything is in place with the player and his representatives for the striker to seal a switch to the English capital. Chelsea are allowed to sign players in January whilst their appeal is pending but Ajax are likely to want to keep the South American until the summer. Ajax will fight to keep the 22-year-old forward but the lure of playing for Carlo Ancelotti's side is set to prove too strong. Indeed, Rik van den Boog, the club's CEO, told Voetbal International on Wednesday night: "I just asked Luis about what the papers released today, which spoke of his signature on a pre-contract with Chelsea. "And he insists he knows nothing. "Ajax also have no knowledge of anything." Manchester United and Tottenham have previously been linked with Suarez but Chelsea's move appears to have been a decisive one, despite the expect denial from the Amsterdam ArenA. Ancelotti has stressed he does not necessarily need reinforcements in January despite losing players to the African Cup of Nations but the Blues have been tracking some of the world's top talent since the season got underway. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/632861/Chelsea-NEW-FAVOURITES-TO-LAND-SUAREZ.html?OTC-RSS&ATTR=Sport&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Score_Chelsea+%28Chelsea%29

Chelsea are lining up a shock move for Inter Milan star Patrick Vieira in January. Former Arsenal star Vieira, 33, has fallen out of favour at Inter and rarely starts under coach Jose Mourinho. He has said he will stay in Italy until his contract expires in June, but has growing concerns that his place in the France World Cup team is at risk unless he plays regularly. The veteran performer was left out of the squad for the controversial play-offs with Republic of Ireland and wants his place. Chelsea would offer the tough-tackling midfield star an 18-month deal worth around £50,000 a week to beat off interest from Arsenal and Tottenham. Vieira is seen as ideal cover for Michael Essien and John Mikel Obi, who will be among the Chelsea contingent at the African Cup of Nations in January. Chelsea will also be missing Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou for the month, which will be crucial in their hopes of taking the title from Manchester United. The quartet could miss up to six matches including league and although the fixture list has been kind with league games against Hull, Sunderland, Birmingham and Burnley, Ancelotti is taking no chances. Chelsea havebeen linked with a move for Neymar - a 17-year-old Brazilian strikerwho has been drawing comparisons to Robinho and even the great Pele. FIFAagent Giuliano Bertolucci, who worked on Chelsea's signing of Brazildefender Alex from PSV Eindhoven five years ago, is said to haveapproached the striker's representative on behalf of the Blues. Reportsin Brazil say the Barclays Premier League table-toppers would beprepared to offer about £13.5million for the Santos player, a figurewhich is about half of the player's release clause. Neymar has been linked to Arsenal, Manchester United and City, as well as Real Madrid, AC Milan, Juventus and Barcelona. Hisfather Neymar da Silva Santos admits that the player's agent WagnerRibeiro has been approached, but is reluctant to speak until a formaloffer is made. Ribeiro sealed Robinho's move from Santos toReal Madrid in 2005 and his subsequent £34m British transfer switch toManchester City in September last year. 'Wagner has been sounded out, but there is nothing official,' said Neymar Sr. 'Therefore,we haven't moved any further because Wagner can only go to Santos whenthere is something official. For now, we're not dealing with any ofthat. 'Neymar is very young. He had a good year, but stillneeds to grow. I don't think that now is the time to leave. He needs toshow more for Santos and win titles here. Prepare better.' Neymaris already in the Santos first team, scoring nine goals from 12 startsand 18 appearances from the bench in Brazil's Serie A this season. He would not be able to register for a team outside Brazil until his18th birthday in February, but there is already plenty wanting to takehim out of South America. http://www.dailymail...e.html?ITO=1490
