No, just wanted to have another look at him, i would obviously play ivan in a proper match, but we have next to no cover at RB, so would like to see whether he is good enough to be number 2.

Its why some defenders are so expensive as they will definately start i.e. Kompany, Terry, Evra, Vermaelen etc. But even our defence. If i remeber correctly, Ivan, Cole Cahill, and David Luiz are all the same price at 6.5 mil, which is really expensive. Cole will start but only 2 of the other 3 will, making it not as easy to pick. Might go for a 3-4-3....

Why are people critiscing lampard for wanting high wages, he is the one who has earn't them the most over the years. If he puts in a good season he will become our all time top goalscorer from midfield. The amount we pay some of the players who give half as much effort as lampard, then give him 2 more years then a yearly contract after that based on performance.

If its hulks odds are 1/4, then it is highly likely he will come here, i would rather a squad player as a third striker if we can't get hulk as opposed to cavani, though to avoid another thread becoming a torres or cavani debate ill end it there...

That is what i have always said as well. Hulk fills a primary role aswell as a secondry striker. 2 birds, one stone.

lukaku will probably go on loan and we do need another striker, but it doesn't have to be some 40 mil player when it could be a useful 8 mil squad player.

Hulk could count as third choice striker, as he can play there, which would be useful as a backup.

TBH the inclusion of ashley cole, made a huge difference as on that left we always had a man on the overlap and it just creates much more space for everyone else. He was probably imo the player who changed things most. Paulo Ferreria to ashley cole. Marin was also very good, with his pace, and malouda was much better than he has been in recent times. Though we should also not forget that they made 9 changes after the first half. Proves that we have greater squad depth than them, even if the players still have some work to do to gel better together.

KDB, actually linked up with Hazard quite well in the 45 mins, Cahill didn't play well but we know what he does reguarly. Lukaku and Kakuta both wern't impressive, but as several people have said it isn't just 45 mins, its a culmination.... Time will tell.

In many ways i hope we don't bring in another winger-esque player as it would mean the dropping of marin, who if he can keep that up in pre-season deserves a shot in the prem..
