  1. Who said guillem balague said that it was happenning because i just saw a vid and if anything it looked like he was dismissing reports saying there is no news of anything except that the president bloke wants him to go to real madrid. Vid: http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,16995_8341789,00.html Shows brilliance vs barca and also what guillem said at the end.
  2. Yeah not much point in torres sitting on the bench gathering dust, as some would put it... I think if we do sign him, then it would be time to just move on and accept it, and see if we can get close to 30 mil for him from somewhere. Lukaku would be a great number 2 i think, if he can keep improving, especially his first touch and would be very useful. If we do buy a striker whomever it may be i see it more likely for danny to go to liverpool , which would be bad for us as i think he would do really well there, and get lots of game time and get goals.
  3. Come on, i really hope this is true. Every single player we ever sign have no guarentee of being a success but you cannot deny that the signs would be very promising. Also on the getting a cl qualification spot, i would be 99% confident of getting one with falcao as our number one as our attacking 4 would be extremely good, with whatever central mid or defensive problems we may have. With torres i still think we can get top 4 and i think we will if falcao doesn't come. Also it would give a new impetus and i think perk up a lot of people in the team who must be getting fairly frustrated at times with torres, as they are the ones running in support and feeding him or trying to. As has bee said millions of times already. Falcao doesn't solve all our problems but it would definitely be a big positive and a mass improvement in the striker department. Just had a scary thought.... We sign falcao , then rafa benches him and starts torres all the time
  4. Well we can blame russia for giving it a bad press... I think it varies greatly from country to country. In the uk we have an extremely detailed benefits system which is often highly critised, and often with good reasoning, as there are many disadvantages particularly in an economic sense, but it does prevent having an extreme underclass, and ensures that on the whole (some exceptions of course) we have a kind of poverty line people will not cross. A liberty which most countries do not have creating a problem with the wealh distribution of a particular country. So where we live, taxation can be effective as it is pumbed back to us in the main, even if we do operate on a budget deficit in the main, although you are definitely correct that it isn't the answer on a worldwide scale as we will get rich people (leaders) taxing poor people and pocketing the money for themselves creating a bigger gap between the richer people in society and the poorer people.
  5. 10 blokes and torres, who will score a hat-trick, will be proclaimed to be back, we will pull out the falcao deal, and get relegated. Optimism
  6. I think we already have that tbh, especially in a lot of countries, particularly some countries in places like africa where the population is extremely poor yet the leader is tremendously rich.
  7. But the wealth differentials are down to the system surely and not the fault of the rich guy. Its also better off he spends the money than let it sit there in a bank gaining interest.
  8. I think if someone has done well for themselves through legitimate means and earned thier money then they can do whatever they want with their money. They get taxed heavily which is great for the government etc, which can then spend more on their citezens like the benefits system in this country. Also rich people spending money is great for the economy as it benefits from the multiplier effect and benefits a lot of money. He has no obligation to give his money away of he doesn't want to.
  9. Yeah but i think alot of their asking prices would rapidly increase when they see us coming as everyone does... I.e. If we purchased van persie it would have been a lot more than 24 million etc. He definitely won't solve all our problems but it should fix one big problem, and we know what a great striker can give you... Just ask united...
  10. Sorry mate, was offline... Basically, 6/4 means you put 4 on to win 6... But you also get the money you put on back. so if you bet £4, and it happenned you would get 10 back... Then man city are 6/1 meaning you get 6x your bet. So if you bet £4.00 you would get £28.00 back. 10/1 would be £44.00 etc. This means we are the favourites, and at 33/1 liverpool are the outsiders.
  11. I Odds in case anyone is interested, as the bookies generally are the ones who have a pretty good gist of what is going on. For all the real madrid talk 12/1 seems high, but apparently he has been "urged not to go there".... If he goes to liverpool then some crazy shit is going on
  12. http://www.nationalturk.com/en/chelsea-transferradamel-falcao-refuse-real-madrid-and-accept-chelsea-offer-breaking-news-30582 National turk seems like its just jumping on the bandwagon but what the hell may as well add the link... On the FFP front, that is for roman and co to worry about, and as i posted in another thread i am sure they no exactly what they are doing and wouldn't risk big fines by breaking it.
  13. If we get him i reckon torres could be going to anzi or somewhere where he will get a lot of money and will boost the image of a club when a big name goes there. Also i can't see any manager not incorporating a player like falcao into their plans, but your right he would be a perfect sort of striker for guardiola to work with.
  14. Would love this to be true. People saying it will be another torres or sheva situation, i would disagree. OBVIOUSLY, with every transfer there is a chance of it flopping so i am not saying it definitely won't happen but there is less chance. For example we signed torres at a time when he wasn't playing well with everyone thinking its just a bad spell, he is not happy there any more and wants a change etc. Falcao is quality and in the form of his life. Obviously this could result in people overhyping it and expecting miracles early on but just because he might not be amazing in his first season doesn't mean he will be a flop. Would love it to be true though i hope we arn't paying astronomical fees to porto, but it would be a very happy day for everyone associated the club especailly the "supply line" (except maybe torres). We had this sort of thing with HULK though in the summer every day so i will wait til there is at least some sources that are genuinely relieable before i get myself too excited. But at least there is talk about it still which makes me want to believe it a little more.
  15. We would have the most fouled player in the prem (eden) and the most fouling player... I am not sure with this one. 20 mil, is a good price for him which i doubt everton will sell him for considering they paid 15 mil. The problem is i don't think anyone can deny his best position is just behind the striker so he can head it down, use his strength etc. Which is a position we won't play him in because he is not gonna play there over mata or hazard etc... Unless we put one of them as striker which could be a bit more effctive than when we tried it before. I do like the idea of having a strong tall powerful player to be able to give us another dimention to our play. I would say of its 20 mil then get him for sure, but if we start getting beyond 25 then no as there are better options out there.
  16. Putting JT on the poll would create too much anomosity and a shit storm. he would also never win because everyone hates him... JT LEGEND!!!!!!
  17. He would be the ultimate through ball reciever... We just put david luiz and lamps in the 2 holding spots and spam L1 + Triangle.
  18. We are not racist but we don't want black players..... Doesn't the last 4 words contradict the first 4 words.... Clearly a bunch of idiots. They are only screwing themselves over, and their club which they apparently support.
  19. come on reading... this will be sooooooooo good if they comeback.
  20. That moment when you realise adam le fondre is a better finisher than torres.
  21. Yeah but when he gets bored of shakira he needs the man pony that is ibra. Its like brokeback mountain but with footballers.
  22. Carzorla hat-trick... Good for my dream team, but not good for the amount of people who will now tell me how santi is the greatest in the world etc.
