Lol that's what I would think as well. But they are the market leaders to get him...
-
Its not like just because of 1 transfer window of minimal expenditure we have become arsenal. I can see the argument for waiting til the summer though it is a risk and we absolutely have to get top 4 or we are screwed... I still expect us to sign someone an OUTFIELD player on deadline day... We normally do.
-
I'd rather he went to city than arsenal. They have quality strikers so it wouldn't be that much worse for us, whereas arsenal would go from no strikers to a beast upfront, and that would be worrying. Or he could just go to us and we would be beasty...
-
Swansea absolutely dominating sunderland.
-
They will probably beat the ivory coast just cos we want them back...
-
I think if he is bought it will be because courtois is going to be leaving, than any sort of competition for future no 1 now.
-
Basically its either cech or courtois and i can't see us getting rid of cech who is world class for coutois who is very likely going to be world class. Which is the fact of the matter, even if it is more logical to go with courtois in the long run i personally cant see cech going anywhere and why should he when he can be world class for at least another 5 years. So either courtois is no 1, at the end of next season, or he will be probably be sold because he is too good to sit on the bench... Jack butland is better than turnbull and hilario but isn't too good at this stage to be sitting on the bench every game with the exception of maybe a cup game or two. So wouldn't be a bad backup and potential successor to cech.
-
He probably is, but not because of ffp but because he doens't want to sit on the bench for 5 years which is fair enough. I just hope if he does go we at least get falcao coming back the other way.
-
i think we have seen that with lampard and ramires we get caught out, so whichever way we go we are gonna have to rely a lot on pur back 4 and the fact we can outscore them. Unless we do something like putting Cahill in there to just sit in, and then let oscar ramires mata, ba and torres try and get the goals with the help of our fullbacks, whilst ensuring we don't get too ripped apart on the counter.
-
With the distinct lack of choices we have it could be worth a go, i would probably change the midfield a little bit though Lampard Oscar Ramires Mata I think Ramires is best in his 4-3-3 position to which this is similar and lampards better long range passing would benefit more from deeper. Yes he isn't a holding player, and doesn't like to defend that much but then neither does ramires who can still drop back to support because he will run forever. And Mata plays in his best position and can try to supply to strikers as opposed to one.
-
oh please don't get injured....
-
You can have Torres... I'll drive him for you. But you can't have lamps and Oscar.
-
Would be kinda funny if QPR spent over 50 mil in this transfer window and go down...
-
I am pretty sure the butland thing is just BS... There are a lot of clubs who want him, but i don't think we are one of them. Cavani is 3/1 to go to arsenal as well... WTF???
-
Should be great to watch the legend back in action in the champions league.
-
It doesn't mean much right now, but it could give people some hope we may sign him: It could happen...
-
If i was picking the whole team i think with the major squad restrictions we have i may go for a change of formation, but its probably the hardest team to pick this season because our shortage of players. We have 0 holding midfielders, and only 1 winger in marin... Maybe a 4-3-2-1 or an inverted 5-2-2-1 or 3-4-2-1 depending on how you look at it: ---------Cech Azpi Ivan Terry Cole Ramires Cahill (maybe?) Lampard ---- Mata Oscar -----------Ba ---------Cech Azpi Ivan Cahill Terry Cole Ramires Lampard ---- Mata Oscar -----------Ba ---------Cech ---- Ivan Cahill Terry Azpi Ramires Lampard Cole --------Mata Oscar -----------Ba Now i know its never gonna happen, but maybe its an option. And maybe even play cahill higher up like david luiz was to just sit in there as a pure defensive midfielder. He would get the ball and pass it simple... Not ideal of course but considering we don't really have any first team defensive mids maybe is something we could do. That way we avoid our major winger problem and can push cole and azpi forward on the overlap and still have protection from the 3 centrally defensive minded players, and Mata is in his position and Oscar is there as well and not on the wing. As i say it won't happen but its just my musings...
-
I think he is pretty much gone... Edit: Talksport now reporting talks arn't planned, so i have no idea. Everyone seems to think its done, including the bookies who had him 1/5 and then this morning withdrew the market. Anything could happen.
-
I think if we don't sign anyone then its a definite sign that rafa is gonna be gone in the summer, but roman and the board thinks we have enough to get the top 4. I still think we may sign someone, but our recent history of january transfers hasn't exactly been great and waiting for the summer would be the logical exception if we were nailed on for top 4, however it would be a catastrophe if we didn't get there, so i hope we do sign someone or ideally recall KDB to go straight into our first team. But time will tell.
-
That would improve our first team. More rotation options for rafa...
-
Yeah possibly. Fellaini was just my prediction as what i think might happen... IF we are requesting things then i'll have Falcao, Benat, and swap torres for messi as a rotation option.
-
It would appear so.
-
My prediction: Deadline day signing for us... Fellaini.
-
Without doubt. We should have enough to beat them regardless off conditions, but i am simply saying the state of the pitch didn't help things.
-
You just said any other team would struggle on that pitch... And it was definitely a factor in the first half, cahill, oscar, marin couldn't find any sort of range. And brentford being in league 1 have players much more used to playing on pitches that are very cut up and not very smooth, so they would be able to cope without it. Now obviously the reason we didn't win came down to the face we were shit as well but it was definitely a factor.
