  1. Our loan system is top quality in what it generates for the club though. Low cost, inflates the value of these players many of which we got for very little. Incoming loan fees every year. And then if they become amazing we get first team players if not we can then sell on and often make profits on them. Now for some players it's not a good thing. But they get paid well so are happy to stay in the system so it works for all parties. Barkley one is interesting but we have enough midfielders and it should give the others such as Billy gilmour more time. And I imagine barkley is looking at the euros and wants to play and I don't blame him for wanting to play.
  2. I'd rather rice wasn't a last min deadline grab tbh as that will raise the price. Give it a year and see what happens. A last min 70 mil spunk on rice seems a bit desperate and I can't see him being worth anywhere near that. I could be wrong and he is the missing piece and if we get him I hope I am. But to me he's a bit drinkwater'y if drinkwater was 6ft2 and better defensively. But maybe that's what the team needs. Who knows
  3. You've also got people saying Frank out a year into it based on 5 games of this year with the new team. People can pick out and say negative things about him and every player. And there are times when it's rightful criticism. But the bashing over every little decision with the benefit of hindsight is ridiculous. I'd put it the same way the people bashing him never say anything positive about him. Same applies for all the retards bashing mount many of whom have infiltrated this forum every game day. Now I love Frank and I always will. Does that give him more rope. Probably yes, but is there a problem with that, no. But if it was a different manager I wouldn't be screaming for them out 5 games in with a brand new team. As someone else mentioned results are crazy throughout Europe right now. This isn't an us problem it's all over. City lost 5-2 to leciester at home, wolves were the new in form team and they lost 4 nil to West ham. Let's get the team in the system he wants to play and see. If we get a defensive performance like we got for 60 mins vs spurs then we will be a lot better than last season.
  4. I think that's a bit unfair. Last season in the prem he scored 7 assisted 5. Willian was 9 and 7. Pulisic 9 and 4 (1k less minutes) But somewhat expected given where he plays. The players he played in front of: Kova 1 and 3. Jorginho 4 and 2 Kante 3 and 0 So for a 21 year old who played all over I don't think that's bad in his first season in the prem at all.
  5. Mount is a high energy jack of all trades that can do a job and fill a hole and a player I love having on the team for that reason. He's not the quickest, best finisher, best passer best dribbler etc etc, but he isnt bad at any of that. He's like the 6th man in basketball which is important to have. It can't just be star quality all over the pitch. Havertz is no doubt better than mount at the number 10 role. But versatility is a useful skill to have. Now at the moment he is playing a lot but I believe thats mostly due to necessity and because he can fill in anywhere other than defence or striker if we need to plug a gap. Everyone knows lampard loves him. But he loves all of them (barring left backs not called alonso and Emerson) and I'm fairly sure if we get a situation where all the signings are fit and playing well then mount will be more for rotation and knocks here or there and a great burst of energy sub to have. But that's not to say mount can't get better and earn runs in this team. As we saw he was the best player vs West Brom then was one of the worst barring Emerson vs spurs. But the kid will give it his all and that's all you can ask for from all the players
  6. Strengthens a non rival who can take points off rivals and gets him game time. Pretty happy with that for Ross.
  7. Mendy Reece Zouma Silva Chillwell Kante kova Mount havertz CHO Werner Is what I think he'll go with if he is committed to the 4-2-3-1 I think we'd be better in a 4-3-3 as a team but then havertz is better at a 10. But I don't think we should play 4-2-3-1 just for havertz but that's a different point Obviously if Pully is ready then play him for mount or CHO. But I think Werner looked better vs Brighton when upfront. Let's get the guys who are clinical and can score in the positions to do it.
  8. It's obvious why he's playing every game because he can put a shift in anywhere on the pitch and is flexible enough to fill in, and seems to not struggle with injuries and has good energy levels. There isn't one other player that we would put in the mid 3 wide left/right or the number 10. 1 bad game today but it happens but he's been good the rest and was our best player vs West Brom.
  9. I don't think I've said anything too different other than I think its way too soon to make drastic judgements. Of course we need to improve and get better. If we are sitting 8th at Christmas and have the same issues as before then he'll get sacked as roman won't accept that. I'm hoping that after the international break everyone is back and he can implement his plan which I would imagine is 4-2-3-1 and we can start looking more solid defensively and more creative going forwards. I feel like we miss so much someone who is that creative spark and has the passing range to find people. I hope ziyech is that guy. And we saw what pulisic can do for this team when firing. Maybe I'm just too optimistic but those 2 players would greatly help the guys around them be better. I don't remember jorginho or Kova attempting 1 through ball to callum or Werner to try and get in behind. Especially second half when there was space. But let's see this new look Chelsea team in October/November and see. If its the same issues then fair enough. I will say that even though we were lackluster I was reasonably happy with the defence til chillwell went off and mendy made some saves and attacked every corner which made a change (he did drop one though but still). But my whole point which I am gonna call it a night on as I think we've talked it to death is that last season and 5 games this season is too soon to be writing anything off. Improvements to be made for sure but I wanna see that front 4 of Werner Pully kai and ziyech. And that new defence get a run of games before we say its the same shit different day
  10. Last season we conceded the 3rd least amount of shots but a shit ton of goals. Our keeper was a big reason for that. Again we exceeded expectations. We dropped 6 points after losing hazard. We were expected to drop a lot more so I don't get that argument at all. We pissed away points for sure as did many teams. We were always going to. It was an in experienced team with a shaky defence and a historically shit keeper. It was expected. Sure we had a lot to work on defensively but that was always the case and unless we Sarri balled it up then we were gonna be more open the way we were trying to play going forward. So again, he earned this season with his guys. 2.5 weeks in the season isn't the time for the lampard out shite. Sure he has made errors and I am not arguing that. But you can't judge the first 5 games of the season as if its the be all and end all. Wolves lost 4 nil to West ham are they shit now? City lost 5 2 to leciester. United have performed shockingly since the start if the season. The only team solid and consistent is Liverpool. 5 games is nothing and a team with a shit ton of new people is gonna take some time to work as it always was. So we can't judge anything yet. Let's have 6 games with keepers who don't let everything that comes their way in and our new defenders and see how our defence looks.
  11. You could also say a lot of the time a pen shootout doesn't go to number 5 so he put him at no. 5 for that reason. For example jorginho went 3rd who is obviously our pen taker. So I don't think you can say that makes him top gun. If Werner ain't taking one then mount taking one is fine. He missed a different day he doesn't. It happens. Who cares about his pen anyway. I love mount but he had a bad game today which was more frustrating than his pen miss. But like most of our players so far they have had some good ones and bad ones. This was a bad game for him. But it happens with all players.
  12. Brighton. Pool. Barnsley. West Brom. Spurs. 5 games since he's had a window and been able to bring in players etc as I said. It's been 5 games. Last season we exceeded expectations as well by the way as we were written off from the start without hazard. I know it's easy for everyone to forget that. No one thought we'd get top 4.
  13. Yes, but he was resting chillwell coming back from injury. If he got injured everyone would have said that he should have eased him in. So I get his reasoning. I would have done it but I get it. I don't get that about how a system is pissing them away. We don't even have our wingers back yet. We can't talk about our system as we need wingers to effectively play it. And last season was the same team as Sarri barring no hazard which is a big loss. We conceded 15 more goals and scored 6 more. Kepa also had the worst season of all time being 12 goals under expected goals conceded. He was slightly below average the Sarri year. So unless we are blaming Frank on kepa going to full shit that accounts for a lot of it. We also played a lot more open due to us trying to be more attacking with the youth and we scored more than a team with hazard so not too bad. Now were we more naive... Yes. Has he made some weird selections, and tactical changes and subs... All yes. But you cant just judge 1 season and 5 games of a new season and put it all on lampard. As I said in reply to someone else. He has had a window and has brought in some players to help. We will see in the coming weeks after the international break how we are doing and then go from there. But this is his seasons to improve it and kick on from last. Everyone including him knows roman won't put up with it if we don't improve. 5 games in isn't when people should be writing him off.
  14. We have decent players. That was never the point. My point was that I don't get who's being pissed away. Who was amazing under Sarri that is getting pissed away now? For example with the goal we conceded. I think you can blame lamps for even putting him on (but he was protecting chillwell for the weekend). But Emerson knows and would have been trained to track that run. Emersons fuck up can't be blamed on the manager other than putting him on in the first place.
  15. Yeah but what players are amazing that are being pissed away. This is the point. These players weren't amazing under Sarri barring kante. The new ones have been here 3 weeks. So I don't get the point?
  16. He hasn't had a whole year to sort this mess out though. The "mess" isn't gonna go away over night. I'm not saying he doesn't get blame for any of our poor results or tactics. But this is lampards season to sort it out. If he doesn't sort it out this season he knows he'll be gone. He's brought in the payers he wants. New gk, new left back. Thiago silva. Now he can work with those players and fix the mess. If he can't fix the mess and it's still the same he knows he'll be gone. 5 games into the season isn't that time though
  17. I feel like the fact he is one of the reasons we even have these players has earned him that time. Let alone the fact pulisic and ziyech haven't even played yet and our 2 new defenders and keeper have barely played
  18. Is this guy seriously not gonna get banned. Starting to see the reason this place has turned to shite. Like reading twitter [emoji23]
  19. What players are being pissed away 5 games into the season? I get its just happened so everyone is going nuts per usual. But bit of a leap to say our new signings are getting pissed away when they aren't even all playing and fully up to speed yet.
  20. With timo, a player who hasn't played an actual game for Chelsea and a player who has been in the country 3 weeks. Shit takes time.
  21. Everyone talking about franks replacement game 2.5 weeks into the season [emoji23]
  22. We didn't even defend too badly with Tomori and zouma Chillwell and azpi were solid. I don't agree with us letting them dictate second half but they didn't create too much.
  23. Kante came on and was our most attacking centre/holding mid which says it all about Kova and jorginho today slowing the play down
