What would any manager do different?
-
I personally appreciate improv comedy.
-
For me it's clear now he should be moulded into something like Ozil. Expect him only to provide the very final ball for another player to finish off, and expect him to do it with the best ball control on the pitch. An assist machine in the right set-up. Not really a playmaker.

I'd be annoyed if they got Fred; he'd be a baller for City. Any Shakhtar player would be. Mahrez? Not so scary.

I don't think anyone in football shows as volatile emotions as Musonda does, but it comes from wanting to be playing for us & be truly accepted by the senior squad so desperately.
-
Musonda isn't a winger at all, and he probably won't play winger at Celtic. A few games here as a winger doesn't compare to half to a full season playing in his natural position (It'll probably be Sinclair - Musonda - Roberts, hopefully behind Dembele. How is that not an exciting group of players to throw him in the mix with?) Brendan Rodgers already knows & likes Musonda; Musonda already knows & likes Rodgers. Celtic are under the microscope of many great European teams, where Premier League teams outside the top 6-or-so aren't. If we don't want him, at least the likes of Bayern, Inter, whoever, will probably have scouts on him. Would they track him at Crystal Palace, Real Sociedad or Stoke? I doubt it. But they do follow consistent league-winners, regardless of the league. The SPL's never been stronger (really) - better players than ever, & all the best teams in the league are there (Rangers back in 2nd place); surely derbies in front of 65k fans against hard-tacklers is good? Next season, he's guaranteed a few full European games. He could start vs. PSG or Barcelona, as Celtic often get one of them - would he play those games here? Worst case scenario he's starting a game vs. Benfica or Porto instead. Still, better than here. He's playing for aggressive fans with high expectations; like the hard-tacklers of the SPL, the fans should further hurry up his development mentally. If he doesn't leave, Dembele will be a brilliant partner to simply enjoy his football with; and enjoying football is important in the development of young players. He's in an environment where he'll give his all every game, which is needed to test and push his limits. But, yes, if this loan is super successful, I imagine he still won't get into our team - either sold, or then loaned to a Ligue 1 or La Liga side (again), which won't be half as entertaining or productive as this loan. I could also imagine a second loan to Celtic before selling him to them for around 20m. Which would be world's-smallest-violin sad for us. But not bad at all for Musonda. I think we've done about the best move for the player, all-in-all. If Lyon or Monaco were short of players though, they would've been even better.

There's always the chance that Emerson's been earmarked by one of our actually competent scouts. If Conte hardly knows Emerson, I doubt anyone else on the board knows more. So, who came up with the name? A scout surely. Hopefully one of our best, not an intern.

Giroud clearly has issues with not starting games. I don't see how we realistically work around that. We aren't turning Morata into a sub, and we aren't about to switch to 2 up-top.
-
Regardless of the level: on paper, this looks like it'll produce some of the most beautiful football for a little while. That front line, so young and technically gifted, should be commended. That said, Musonda should end up behind the striker, so we'll see how it turns out.

He probably hasn't even watched Samurai Champloo yet or learned what a posh wank is. He's great for his age.

Raaaaauuuuulllll !!!!
-
Does Batshuayi remind anyone else of Raul a bit, just his movement
-
This game is a mild curry: too much nutmeg, not enough chilli.
-
This Willy is quite good.

Hopefully Conte's about to see the light and bring on Moses as a number 9. He may have a conversion rate of 0.01%, but considering we roughly resemble the Wigan squad he played with I think we could reignite his spark. He could be our main man, so I understand why he's on the bench today: rest, and impact.
-
Wow we have a game? I was too busy cleaning up cat sick, listening to 90's R&B and looking for crumbs of weed. Usually by now i've refreshed and checked every website i visit 90 times.

Celtic's a good fit. People argue that the SPL is weaker than the Championship, but Celtic are twice the team of any Championship one. Better coaches at the club, more demanding mentality, more consistently in cup finals, and they always have some level of European action. It could be argued that it's bad to have low-level opposition, but I think it's a good thing for Charly to get used to winning, and being proactive instead of reactive. Charly isn't even a player who needs to be playing against the top players of the world to develop: he just needs games full-stop: and the SPL should surely make a man out of him. Even Sinclair's become tough. It's almost mad to think that within a space of just a few years, 2 players who entered their ripe stage with Celtic (Van Djik + Dembele) will gross around 100m+. 2 players, from Celtic's tutelage, 100m. 2018. Finally, from Charly's POV, building a relationship with Celtic is only a good thing considering that their players eventually transfer to top clubs elsewhere these days. If we jerk him around, or don't want him (...), it'd be wise for him if he could return for a 2nd-stint with Celtic right away to continue building his reputation.

All i'll say is, i'm loving that a Bing link was just posted. I switched to Bing a week ago and i'm so much better for it; i dismissed them when i was younger, since they seemed stripped-back and new. Lately, when i want to watch movies online, all the usual websites & links i'd expect to pop up, are obscured by Google. I think they're favouring businesses + websites which ultimately make money for the system. I just got a Pixel 2 phone (Google), which I love, but fuck their search engine, it's had shady after shady nuance creep in over time. DuckDuckGo is good too for any sneaky sneakertons on here.

Who else has - - Buns softer than the finest French bakery - A smile softer than a newborn baby - A touch softer than a fly? Nobody, altogether. You dismiss him at your peril.

No European dominance, no real domestic consistent dominance, no ambitious purchases. We showed the biggest balls in the football world when we signed Hazard, but since then, whatever conquering we've done, it's paled in comparison to what we could've done. And what we could've done wasn't lofty ambition with horrifying odds; it's what should've been expected of a European powerhouse, which we no longer are - due to lack of grinta from Roman and those closest to him.
-
It's like winning the Champions League was our ultimate climax, our orgasm for the ages; we've become dormant ever since. We should've kept ourselves at the edge, always aiming for another conquer. Now we're happy to just play with ourselves.
-
For whatever reason, I didn't think they'd actually sign Laporte. I don't think he's any better than Christensen, but he's probably as good, which is annoying. Not the end of the world, though.
