There's no agenda or bias in pointing out that yet again, when he got the ball, he'd stick his hands out like a dancer, and frame his body as-if he was tip-toeing on hot coals; he looks like he struggles to balance; other times he looked like a 5 year old kid pretending to be a plane. This awkward frame, as every game, lead to the ball being released way too late. His display had glaring flaws.

Lunatics. Every time he received the ball he swayed left, swayed right, turned around 90 degrees, and broke sweat just to decide which player to make a pass towards.

How is it possible to have worse technique than Ramires?
-
Bakayoko was ever-present the moment he cost more than 35m.

Sending our negotiator to him would make no sense, would it.

Hard to lose with Christ himself at the heart of your defence.

I think it's like we're buying Roma's best 'youth' player, or best prospect; we aren't buying a ready-made player. He'll take some time; it all depends on his injury. If it doesn't impact him bad, then it's possible he could become among the very best in his position. Roma fans are more annoyed about losing him compared to Dzeko for a reason
-
Dzeko has the best goals-to-games ratio in modern Roma history. Only 3 players in their entire history better him, 2 of them playing in the 1940's, scoring almost every game; the other player in the 60's. For further perspective: he's been a more consistent goalscorer than Totti, Batistuta, & Montella, their most iconic strikers. Last season, he was considered the best striker in the league, beyond Dybala, Mertens, Hig, Belotti, Icardi etc. We truly are getting one of Man City's best ever strikers, one of Roma's best ever strikers - coming off the best season of his career.
-
Dzeko is Man City's 3rd or-so best striker of their modern era: Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko/Gabriel Jesus (perhaps). That useless observation is positive enough He's beyond a good back-up option. Almost an unrealistically brilliant back-up option.
-
One of his worst ever Roma performances, but 1 trait in this game is present in even his best games, so be prepared for it. Without the ball you go down to 10 men; because Dzeko has the movement of Bakayoko until you hit the opposition's box (and you know we love staying away from there).

Similar to how people are bizarrely convinced Kenedy's a left back now, I hope the way Musonda's been used over the last season or 2 doesn't convince people he's supposed to be a winger.

Call us Cocktease FC.

If you told me a season, 2, or 3 ago that we could end up with Dzeko-Mahrez as 2 of our 3 front-line I would've felt a genuine pang of pain in my heart.

Brighton are hardly the opposition to tell us see whether or not this is our ideal formation

At some point he'll be one of the best full backs in the world for a while. I think the best player to compare him to in both play style and ability is Marcelo. Main difference being Marcelo has far superior technique where Emerson's is average. I think Emerson could become our 2nd best ever left back if given the chance. He's just productive. He goes forward like a champion. I think his only (major) fault is acting like 'the job is done' too early when he gets forward - staying forward when he should quickly track back. I imagine if we swap Alonso for Emerson, we lose heading ability, & we lose free-kick ability. We gain pace, & we gain more dangerous forward runs (for both teams). There's a big upgrade in mentality, too; it's clear Emerson wants to be great. I'd be excited about this; he just needs to mature. Maybe improve tackling.

Not to put a 'kick me' label on my back, but up until 2014 or so I always sort of, on a small level wanted Crouch here (i like options.) Crouch is simply a freak of genetics. And his freakish build pretty much negates the need for pace & stamina; his role is to be scrappy and get a goal no matter what, and he often does, with a smile on his faceSo i'd take him as a back up for 1 season. I easily see him scoring from free-kicks & corners to down our biggest rivals having come on late in games. But I don't actually think we'll sign him. Strikers with pure Premier League experience though, never a bad thing for a back up.
-
Roma fans imagine he could be going in the summer, and something like a 3rd of them would like him gone. One of their best goalscorers in a decade, but offers nothing in terms of 'creating his own chances' which there was a lot of debate about when Costa was here. I don't see at all how he works with Morata.

It is if you slip into the right crack. But those cracks are small. Tiny.

MORE IMPORTANT THAN THIS GAME TO A DEGREE : Highly recommend REAR WINDOW by Alfred Hitchcock. Very good movie set in 1 location, few characters, terrible but amusing dialogue, and most of all great art design + obvious plot. There was a Simpsons episode where Bart's looking out the window with a broken leg or something, and sees Flanders doing things (through his window), and mistakes him to have murdered his wife. Turns out it was based on this. 9/10 so far; took ages getting to the point of the movie. Lots of nice lingerie.

He'd definitely be good there. Not as good as where he is now, but he'd be as solid as all but maybe 5-10 midfielders in the top leagues.
