Apparently AC Milan are talking to Real Madrid about the possible transfers of Carvalho, Albiol and Kaka. Obviously Milan are wanting a new, younger side, but fortunes haven't been great for them this season so I can understand them wanting Carvalho in for experience and Kaka as a morale booster. Surely they'll be able to afford Kaka's wages now with Ibra and Thiago gone. He could great magic with that little Egyptian/Italian up-front

Lol. This isn't Fifa or Football Manager. Lukaku won't magically become an amazing striker when he reaches a certain age. "Oh, today's my 23rd birthday. Time to become a world-beater!". The "he's only 19" is literally the poorest excuse when it comes to 'defending' him. (not that anyone was attacking him to begin with; just stating the obvious.) Take age out of the equation - what does he do well? What does he bring to a team? He's very strong. And....

I don't care how well he kept Falcao at bay for Brazil. He barely does any good shit with US so what he does for Brazil is irrelevant.

Only Cavani can match Drogba's work rate and threat/defending abilities when it comes to set pieces from the strikers we've been linked with. The best finisher is Falcao. I've no idea how people think Jovetic could be good enough to lead our line. Remember Arsenal being 'scared' of Drogba? Drogba 'bullying' defenders etc? I know we're supposed to move on, but little Jovetic isn't exactly the most intimidating or motivational figure... which is what we need up front to compliment our silky smooth passers. He scores a bit, he can dribble well and can pass well - but can he hold up the ball? Can he use strength vs. defenders to his advantage? Can he be an aerial threat? I laugh when people think we'll get Suarez. Liverpool have one striker (Borini) aside from him. Do you think Liverpool are stupid enough to sell their best player also? Dzeko is a very underrated player IMO. He's quite all-rounded. If you use him correctly, he will score. . . but he isn't exactly a safe option. . . and from what I see, we're definitely not the team for him. How many crosses do we send into the box which he could take advantage of? Exactly. He looks good when coming on as a sub, but that's often due to the opposition being too tired to properly mark and track such a big, strong player. He'd be great at a team like Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund etc. Team which properly use wing-play. Villa would be a cool short term option. He does what we've wanted Torres to do most of his time here. To move forward as a team with a new philosophy but also while retaining some of the qualities which make Chelsea 'Chelsea', I think Cavani is honestly the best option. It's so annoying how people can't see that the reason Falcao scores so much isn't just because he's a great finisher, but the team plays around him. The players play for him. He is the man in the team... but not with Colombia. As we saw last night, when he's not the clear main man with everyone doing everything to suit him, he isn't exactly the 'best striker in the world' which so many on here claim he is. There is no 'next player' when it comes to football. Everyone is different, both physically and mentally. Lukaku has a completely different playing style to Drogba. Completely. It's such a shame we spent so much money on him. That promotional video he made of his Stamford Bridge trip probably (and laughably) had an influence on our board acquiring his 'services'. He was simply amazing for Ajax. Both Real Madrid and AC Milan saw something in him. It's become almost a shock if he doesn't score in a game for Schalke. That sounds decent in my opinion. Also, Louis van Gaal is quoted as once saying - "in the penalty area, he is the best player in the world, bar none." He's never even played under van Gaal apart from with Holland, and to receive such a compliment from a manager of his pedigree is a big deal.

He looks like a fly because of his eyes. I'm not sure which fly, but he really does. Infact he looks like various animals. If anyone can post an animal which looks like him you're getting repped.

He'd be a good short term option, but definitely not long term. He reminds me of Mario Gomez - loads of goals, but he's not a very good striker. (sounds odd, I know) He's another player who often needs the team to specifically suit him. With that said, he really is a good finisher, which is just what we need right now.

You know what would be great? Recalling Kalas in January to cover for Terry being out. (if possible) See how he does until the Summer. If he doesn't do good enough, send him back out on loan, and buy this guy. Simple! (Although Udinese do tend to get a lot of cash for their players!)

I expect a top 4 finish (I honestly don't mind where in the top 4 we finish though this season) and would love and semi-expect an F.A. Cup win. I'm expecting the CWC trophy also, but have this gut feeling we'll throw it away by not taking the game seriously. As posted above, it's been said many times that this is a transition season, but we don't actually look to be transitioning anymore. Our midfield has transitioned, but now there needs to be transition with our striker options and our defence.. which isn't going to be happening this season at all.

@, Roman definitely has a say in Torres playing as much as he does. As for tactics, no. But I believe the board have a say.

Just want to add something about "why do you think Guardiola would magically work?" - He'd have the full trust of Abramovich. Di Matteo doesn't. Guardiola would choose the transfers. He would choose the tactics. He would choose so much more than RDM is allowed.

I've always said he isn't, and the main reason people defend him so much is due to sentiment (him being a past player of ours). If it was Paul Lambert managing us and everything was going exactly the same as they are now, would people be defending him so much? Probably not.
