  1. It was reported a week or 2 ago he was taking French-speaking lessons you know. The rumour has it that he'll join Monaco as will Tevez. Could definitely see that happening and would personally love it. Would be interesting combo to watch but I'm confident it'd work.
  2. But you haven't even read what I've said regarding him according to you so how do you know you've discredited it? Where do i say or even imply that? Can i borrow your magic-ball? i want to find out if we'll be beating Aston Villa He signed Tal Ben Haim and Pizarro.
  3. So you'd rather NOT read what I said regarding why he'd be a good fit, yet continue to converse with me trying to explain why he wouldn't be a good fit? Not trying to be a dick but you've just destroyed literally everything you've said.
  4. ...have you been in the Sanchez thread? If so, you'd see a resounding yes. Probably, if we didn't have Azpi. No he's not. He's not picked due to whether he's good or not. But to answer your question - All of them bar Atletico. He fits Tottenham and Napoli's counter-attacking styles perfectly. With a few tweaks he'd probably be good enough for Atletico again too, yes. All 3 of those teams played in the Europa League this season. Torres has been the only striker we've used in the Europa League and we're in the final.
  5. A video of him and Van Persie exploring their partnership to the fullest. Notice the touches, passes, movement. Of course chances are he wouldn't be a strike-partner here; he'd be the striker, but you can see everything in this video which so many people are saying he doesn't have:
  6. I have lol. Read before this page
  7. Welbeck took his place specifically to close down Xabi Alonso as they could afford letting him do so as he doesn't have stand-out qualities such as finishing which Rooney possesses and would thus be wasted. It was actually quite documented that Fergie messed up by not selecting him. So he's good enough to start almost every game for the Premier League champions but not good for a team fighting just to be in the top 4? You said it's easy to tell he no longer has a passion for football because he strolls around. Lampard, Messi and Ronaldo all stroll around also - does that mean they lack passion?
  8. I'm just so confused. There's people putting genuine reasons as to why Rooney would be a good purchase, yet unlike in other threads, the only argument against it seems to be fallacies made out of thin air like "HE DOESNT LIKE FOOTBALL ANYMORE AND HE HATES CATS!" (you get my point) and people calling him fat.. Can someone against the transfer actually write something regarding why he wouldn't fit into our system? What he wouldn't bring to the team technically?
  9. @Hutcho, He had let himself go. But it never meant he wasn't good enough like people are implying with Rooney.
  10. How do you know? What is there left to improve aside from his finishing? He runs more than any striker in the league. Yaya Toure and Ramires run more than him; can't think of anyone else. He does not have fitness issues. In fact i'd happily wager he has a six pack lol. Just because you're not muscly like Hulk doesn't mean you have weight issues. Michu is and always has been a midfielder. He was used as a utility striker up front as an experiment and happened to click. Notice that he'd dropped back into midfield once the whole squad was fit again. We're not wanting to sign Rooney to play behind the striker.... no one here is.. We want to sign him to play AS the striker, and is more than capable to play behind the striker if needed. Do you really think people on here are wanting us to sign Rooney to replace Mata or Hazard? Like Lampard, Messi and Ronaldo?
  11. Falcao gotza make dat monaaaay. (For those unaware, Monaco are basically the next PSG in the making. Or Chelsea. Incredibly rich.)
  12. It seems there's a huge dose of blind hate in this thread and I'd suggest those people stay away from here so that the ones of us who are actually intrigued by this potential transfer can discuss it without "He's a cunt" and other insults thrown at him every few sentences
  13. Neither is/was Van Persie, but United bought him because he's the player they've been missing. Neither is Terry, but we'll keep him around. And you know what? Mata probably won't either and at 27 will have probably lost some of his pace (which he barely has now), but that won't mean he's not good enough to start for us. You can't constantly buy players with 'potential'. You also can't assume he won't get better and it's stupid to say so. Just this season he's learned how to play as a midfielder! Is that not getting any better? You really don't know that, and even so, plenty players do all those things including some of our own. Torres has done a good enough job for 3 or so seasons. We won a CL final with him in the squad and have got to a Europa League final with him. Rooney is far better than Torres currently, so imagine what we could do with him! Not good enough? Disagree. None of which have Premier League experience or his work-rate coupled with goalscoring exploits, barring Cavani if you discount the first 'PL Experience' point. ...I don't understand this What do you base this on?
  14. Some positives about a potential Rooney swoop off the top of my head if money is no object: Against big teams, Rooney performs in general. He's scored vs. Barcelona. He's scored plenty against us. That overhead kick vs. Manchester City and so-on. He's versatile. Put him as a poacher against Stoke and get him a hat-trick. Play him as a support striker to Ba vs. Arsenal and play games with their fragile defence. Play him as a complete striker with the freedom to do as he pleases and change a game. Put him in a midfield role alongside Ramires and watch those 2 engines constantly win the ball back and hassle a passing-team like Juventus. His finishing ability can't be questioned, neither can his passion. He's fixed his hair a bit. He likes to run at defenders when his team don't have possession to put the opposition under pressure - something I wish our strikers did more. He's like a cat; He can score with his body at any angle or in any shape. He's English. We're an English club. We have hardly any English players which are good enough for our Starting XI, if any anymore. Someone new to football would be mistaken for thinking he's a playmaker at times. Much like Totti, he has learned the art of passing and almost mastered it. He's a rather decent free-kick taker. He's composed from the penalty spot; ideal if Lampard or Hazard aren't here. He shouts and communicates on the pitch a lot. You can't not be motivated when you're playing with him, if not scared shitless. No matter how much they'd try and deny it, it'd hurt the hearts of Man United fans having him here; something we'd all enjoy. He's scored hundreds of goals despite playing in not the most creative teams. Giggs, Nani, Valencia, Carrick, Kagawa, Scholes - All good attacking threats, but not all that creative in my opinion. Hazard, Mata, Oscar? Orgasmic. MONEY FROM KIT SALES!!!!!
  15. Like Lampard's been doing to us? First playing a major role in getting AVB sacked and then not dropping wage demands; making public comments regarding managers and the club and even before all this, pondering a move to Inter? Like Ashley Cole did with Arsenal before transferring to us and giving us 0 football-related drama? I don't think that's a viable point. If he stays at United for 1 more season he becomes their 3rd-all time goalscorer. He averages 1 goal every 2 games in the Premier League when played as a striker, and the exact same statistic is present in Europe and even better in the F.A. Cup. If we don't go by stats though, you can't discount and seriously need to consider everything else he offers a team besides goals, such as work-rate, passion, passing ability, versatility and so-on. Like Lampard? This quote could be posted in the Lamps thread and would look perfectly in place That's been a roll specifically given to him this season to create a midfield-3 as the wingers go up to join Van Persie with Rooney being a support option. Here he wouldn't be instructed to do so.
  16. You can say United will get Baines and so-on, but Everton aren't Rangers. They don't need to sell. They've just lost their manager - will they really let go of their best players so easily now? Of course there's a higher chance that Manchester United will target and push for Baines and or Fellaini and of course they may want to work under their old boss, but there's not a higher chance Everton will sell I don't think.
  17. If you forever 'stick to your guns' and never change your opinion about something or someone you can't evolve and grow. During his early days with Atletico I said he was one of the best finishers I've ever seen - which he still is. Just like some people used to think Torres used to be the best striker in the world and would use him as their avatar have grown and changed their opinion of him At least I didn't wait for the general media to start saying Falcao is incredibly overrated for me to form my new opinion My point is - If certain football managers always stuck to their guns all these years and refused to evolve from a 4-4-2 formation, they'd likely see a downfall in themselves and their team. You eventually have to adapt to a 4-3-3, a 4-4-1-1 and so-on. You also have to change opinions about players depending on how they progress/regress and change your mind about whether you'd want them at your club or not depending on how your current team evolves. At one point, a season or 2 ago in our 4-3-3, Falcao was admittedly probably a player we could have used. A season or 2 on, he's no longer that player we need for a 4-2-3-1. We need a complete striker who'll track back and help with many more things than just scoring. If I was under an impression a few years ago that he was the right guy for us and I hadn't changed my mind by now after many more signings and tactic tweaks I'd be an oblivious and ignorant fool. Also, I've never said I've wanted him here; I never have and still don't (just because you recognize someone is good doesn't mean you want them at your team) and in the post of mine you've quoted, I haven't even said I've changed my view regarding whether he's a great striker or 'one of the best strikers I've seen' etc. or not
  18. Hopefully Zenit sign him to partner him with Hulk. That way we get to avoid him, Atletico can sign Suarez and a team in our league gets weaker.
  19. Put him into our Fifa 13 team. It was Hazard, Oscar, Mata behind him in that order. He got 4 goals in 17 minutes vs. Arsenal. WHY HAVEN'T WE SIGNED HIM YET!?!
  20. I may be wrong here, but It looks like he's actually handed in a formal transfer request according to teh newz bringerz and the likes on Twitter. Is this so? I could understand him wanting to leave personally. Must be pissed off that Van Pussy came out of nowhere to take his light after all he's given to the club and now the fact SaF is leaving. Sign the cunt!! At least he has decent hair now
  21. "He has no feelings towards Chelsea. We shouldn't sign a United-through-and-through player." That's the notion I'm getting from some members. I guess we shouldn't have signed Arsenal-supporting Ashley Cole then should we? Damn mercenary
  22. And some people thought Mourinho would go to United despite absolutely everything going against that idea
  23. See. 0 fucking pressing. And concede. Fuck off.
