Rumor has it Brazil has an agreement with Ancelotti, and Diniz is a just filling in until Carlo leaves Madrid. Going from Carlo to Mourinho would be a pretty 180 in terms of philosophy, even more so from Diniz, who's an Pep/Arteta wannabe. Personally I think Jose could make a brazil a bit more competitive; make them better at facing strong opposition, but it's hard to say... he seems a bit past it. Getting a good manager for a National team seems to be very difficult. The offering just isn't competitive compared to what top managers can get from clubs.

yeah absolutely never take news/opinions as gospel. Once you admit in court of blatantly lying for some political agenda, well I feel in the right to not consider it a reliable source of news. 😉

Should probably wait for more information. Israel claims they did not hit it. "Palestinian officials blamed ongoing Israeli airstrikes for the lethal incident. But the Israel Defense Forces has “categorically” denied any involvement in the hospital attack, blaming instead a “failed rocket launch” by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, a rival Islamist militant group in Gaza. We did not strike that, and that the intelligence that we have suggests that it was a failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad, and I want to add, categorically, that we do not intentionally strike any sensitive facilities, any sensitive facilities, and definitely not hospitals,” Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus told CNN."

Well, if you watch Fox News (or even the liberal counterparts like msnbc), that's on you.

Don't hear many people saying Israel has the moral high ground... certainly not around here. They lost that the moment they attacked the way they did. Ukraine did not do, or does, acts of terrorism. As in a sneak attack + targeting civilians ... Hamas' acts endangered their own people, and I am 100% sure they fully knew that.

Then no country has ever been at war and were merely doing terrorism. 🤷♂️ My point remains, it's not about which is worse, but that they are different. Israel "declared" war and is attacking their targets "as they announced." Terrorism is a very different tool. This is a discussion of terminology now and I think they are VERY different. Once again, not about which is better. Russia invasion of Ukraine isn't better than anything, but I would definitely not call it terrorism. They declared war and then proceeded to invade the country. The reasons for declaring the war are irrelevant to define whether it's war or not. Once war is happening, then atrocities of all kinds (murder and rape) will happen. That's always the case.

I think you are mixing terminology here. Israel isn't doing terrorism the same way Russia isn't. We can all condemn a governments for doing terrible things, but they are different things. The issue I have is with the response: OK, let's go kill a bunch of civilians in a party to make things even.

true, but having human shields (regardless how willing) killed help their cause; at the very least they bring up the number of their civilian casualties on their side. I think it's very convenient to attack and then "hide" where you are untouchable unless civilians die. I think to "consider the human casualty" is easier said than done given how terrorists operate.

Yup that's not the reason Iraq was bombed/invaded, and it was very clear from the beginning (easier to just follow the money on that one). Don't think US cares one bit about UN too. Regardless my admitted bias, I also have a hard time with terrorism in general. The whole idea of targeting enemy civilians, then go hide among your own civilians as human shields is beyond deplorable.

Agree to disagree on that one. Leaving specific options aside, statistics without context can be very misleading just like in Football. That happens not in in offense, but also defense.

Sorry, but I cannot agree with the "led" bit. I'm not sure there is equivalence here. The author of the article you pasted above is also fairly controversial; there are several complaints regarding misinformation esp around "civilian" casualties. Terrorists are known to blur the lines between military and civilian targets. And again, I'm not saying she is wrong, but suggesting that she may have a particular point of view, which is hard to avoid here.

Yeah definitely, if that's the reality of what happened. I honestly think points of views change drastically in that area. Would like to see how the data is acquired, who reported, and esp what is considered "own land." Depending on who you ask "own land" can drastically vary. Wasn't the two-state on the table at some point in the past and was refused. The Palestinians refused it because they did not like the land division back then. I don't pretend to know the motivation of what Israel does, but I know (from personal experience) that their life in that small stretch of land isn't a relaxing one; they are always looking out for aggression, and for good reason.

that's unsurprising and it's war... there will be collateral damage once the killing starts. At least it is "collateral damage" as opposed to targeting civilians. Israel has a government tho; people can protest, demand, criticize and question their leaders and their decisions. Not so much on the other side. From a government perspective alone, sorry I think in that, there is a clear winner even if fallible government like any other.

Sure no argument regarding performances. I just think there are other variables in the mix, which affected a number of players, and would naturally affect more certain types. He's also way too young to be written off esp considering what he has accomplished already. We will find out one way or another in a the coming seasons. Heh I for one pretty much considered him a first team player esp for the CL run. Fair enough on Conor, but my comment regarding opposition still stands; I'd rather see what he does against better players who play at much higher tempo.
-
that must be some dead leg...

21yo Chelsea player who is day in and day out in the senior team is doing well in U21 against kids.... congrats. 😆 No seriously, it's disappointing that he's even playing at u21... Enzo was winning a WC for Argentina at 21! Caicedo plays for Ecuador, not Ecuador u21.
-
I agree that Conor is improving and becoming a good player. Now, we've been playing pretty shit opposition lately, so we will see how these players, including Conor, do against mids who can actually play at a much higher tempo. I know what Kante did to them. We know how Jorginho and Kova fared. We do NOT know how well Conor, or even Caicedo will do. We have a better idea with Enzo, tho. It's a long season... lots can happen. Putting Mount and RLC in the same bucket is literally trying to rewrite history. 😆 One was a first teamer who won CL, while the other was never more than a sub. I know the mount hate is strong around here, but boy...

Disclaimer: I've worked for an Israeli company for many years, and I've known many Israelis. I have traveled to Israel multiple times and have met really nice people in Tel Aviv. That basically makes my bias all the more obvious to me, so any opinion I may utter will be very biased indeed. Going beyond the realm of the obvious here, I do think, overall, that it's beneficial to blatantly obvious oppressors to find an external target to put hate and blame on. It's really not a novel idea; it's a strategy used pretty much everywhere and it is unsurprisingly very effective given that we are very much a tribal race to our cores. I am a stout atheist, so this whole thing feels really ridiculous to me.... children dying for parent's delusions (I just believe in one fewer god than you do... thing) isn't something I like to hear on the news, so I'm pretty much avoiding the news at this point.

Well he did not "play" as they faced the worst team in South America: Bolivia. It's really merely a fitness test in La Paz at 3.6km high, and one that Ecuador players usually do well at. Multiple locations in Ecuador are high altitude, like Quito. Bolivia historically has a pretty good record playing at home, but not so much recently; they just have a very poor side atm; they just aren't good enough to benefit from the huge advantage they have when playing at home.

I agree with you regarding Silva. Was just trying to think what Poch will do tho. It's still a pretty young squad with only Sterling, 28, as the real senior experienced played of the bunch. James is 23, but definitely has experience. The others are new to the league and the rest of the squad has 19-22 yo players. Some of them physically look their age (Palmer).
-
exactly! Yeah I mistyped it earlier, I meant Sterling on the LW like you said. I agree that this is likely the best starting XI perhaps Gallagher/Nkunku depending on opposition. I suspect he will play Silva a lot too, perhaps depending on the opposition esp because of the experience (& young squad).
-
It's an easy one though: they are better. They are better trained (a lot more time and better system) and have better players esp attacking options. A draw here isn't a bad result. Martinelli will be in better shape than against City (after hamstring) as he's not w/ Brazil -- he's by far their best attacker. Jesus is a close second, but different (MotM for me against City). Odegaard has been amazing this season too. And Rice improved their CM a lot. Which makes it a challenge for the players and club, which sometimes helps bring that extra effort. Regarding lineup, I hope for the same starting lineup w/ Jackson instead of Broja. This is NOT a game to start Mudryk. It's not even about what he does, or does not do in attack, but rather his defensive work.
-
not only both 😢 Imagine a 3-line with Eden, KDB, and Salah !!! it might have been too much of a good fantastic thing, but It sure would be entertaining. 🤤
-
that's exactly why KDB is better. Hazard may have been the more entertaining, esp if you like dribbling. If I want to beat strong opposition, in a system, I know which I'd pick. 😉

Yes! VERY similar career and demeanor; I mean one was for partying while the other family. Ronaldinho was more complete, but it's scary to think what they might have achieved had they had a bit more determination, and were more focused on their careers--perhaps then they'd not have been the same player though.
