Fair enough but I think that the PL demands a bit more mobility in the CM position due to the pace of the opposition players. Everybody got pace in the PL. granted that given his age switching to midfield would still be possible.

Yeah I don’t think it’s a good sign that Caicedo was everywhere. He’s extremely mobile and can do a good job winning the ball back as well as defending from counters, but he had to work too much today. he’s good mid, but not a very creative force. hope he stays fit tho esp considering lavia never plays.

Think we all mentioned he was out of position and actually looked like a good player. He twice made big mistakes that could’ve costed us. I just disputed being so loaded in midfield when Veiga ends up playing there. IMO he does not have the mobility for this position. The opposition today was very poor. Their subs in the second half destroyed their team as they could not string two passes together. Yes, Maresca packed the midfield with the CAMs which caused them problems, but their subs evidently arent like ours in terms of quality.

Nothing like having quality players who can come in and change a match. 😉

It was a good pass not an assist tho. The pass did not put Nkunku in a position to score—he did that beating 3 players. Sanchez was really good!

Last season it would’ve been Mudryk for Chilwell on the left wing… and people thought it was fine. 😃

Sancho improved the team, but it does change the shape a lot. Felix has been poor. it has been a shocking performance by Jackson. that was all Nkunku for me — what a goal!

Tbf Veiga looks like a good player just not mobile enough in midfield.

The change was very much tactical too: playing with far less width now with the 2 CAMs on the wings.

Hope maresca can adjust some things. We are going to concede if we do t improve in the second half.

Have no idea about what casadei can offer but assume he’s been training well to be on the bench. the back line does not help with possession tho. Passing has been poor from the back as well.

Today I have to agree. Veiga in particular looks pretty lost in there. tho the back line does not help matters one bit.

We are decent in possession but that’s about it. Jackson does not look to be inspired today, so lacking teeth up front. madueke and Neto are working hard. Midfield is too pedestrian on the ball so we lose possession often.

It’s looking better now playing really wide which is def new with Maresca. In the other hand, defending looks a bit off and we are unable to play from the back.

Dunno how good Veiga is in midfield. carney plays better in a pulled back winger position imo. Yet to see a good game from casadei. Hope Caicedo never picks up a knock. second season in and Lavia remains unavailable.

Apparently we are not “loaded” in CM esp considering Lavia is never available.

Duran was almost a consensus buy on this forum which is very rare. Reckon he’s going to become a bit more expensive after this season and goals like these.
