2015 was injured Ramires... Hoping for a return to the real Rami.
-
See I still think Ramires is the right guy for that role. True box to box mid.
-
Nah just someone who can link the play when we're transitioning. I don't think he's that sort of player.
-
really? I mean would you classify him as a ball winner? I'm not sure man.
-
Interesting... Can he pass the ball well enough to keep Cesc out?
-
ya I see that but I'm still not sure he has a role he specializes in if he does come to us. I mean one person mentioned he would be amazing next to Matic in the way Luiz was, while in my head I'd like to believe that, does he have the ball winning ability? He's an upgrade to Mikel for sure but I don't think he makes our midfield complete.

1. Its givemesports 2. the "journalist" looks 17. why even bother posting this?
-
I like his size and athletics but not really sure what are his actual strengths... Seems like a bit of a utility guy rather than a specialist.
-
So now 23.5m for a full international who's played in the champions league and is only 26 is a lot of money??? Man that is squad player money for a club our size... get real people.
-
Stones 26m Witsel 23.5m Pedro 22m Call it a day and a great summer
-
He started 9 games...
-
Ya and his day is Feb 29th.
-
I disagree. They're about developing their own players.
-
It is a slight overpayment but Everton doesn't have to sell him. We have to make them a compelling offer. In the end the money doesn't really matter to us anyway, its about getting the right player. If you can see why everyone likes him then you can also see why no one is all that fussed over a slight overpayment.
-
We laughed at PSG because despite Luiz winning trophies, everyone in world football knew he couldn't defend for shit. It was as plain as day they got fleeced... 30m for Stones is a lot of money but its not exactly a joke by today's standards.
-
I'm not so sure I believe that but you're more than entitled to that opinion
-
Meh... Not good enough. Simple and plain
-
Ricardo Carvalho? Rio Ferdinand? Silva? Explain to me what you're implying again?
-
30m is a hell of a lot of money for sure but as I've been screaming to whoever will listen the past few weeks, market dictates price. There is a real shortage of CB's who classify as quality, Stones is young but if he reaches his potential he'll be one of the best CB's in the Prem and he's English... Its a risk but not one I'm uncomfortable with at this point.
-
There are a real shortage of quality CB's in world football right now. I think its VERY wise for Chelsea to hoard as many as the young ones as possible... Especially the young englishmen. Kalas is looking like he's not in the upper echelon for defenders and will likely move on next year, he hasn't even nailed down a spot for a Championship side let alone the Premier league champs... BTW buying Stones doesn't mean we won't address other perceived holes in the squad.
-
We can comfortably spend over 100m this summer and not feel any sort of a pinch. The TV deal is what is driving up sales.
-
I only see English HG quota at play here. I don't see world class CB in the making, I see serviceable CB who hopefully will play for the national team. Just me though
-
Football Manager has made people think negotiations are this simple. What about what the player wants? What the agent wants? What the sponsors want? Not as simple as ponying up and expecting all the other factors to vanish.
-
So I don't really know what portion of what he wrote you are in agreement with
-
Nothing I've seen so far would lead me to suggest we'll walk the league. We don't even know how some of our players will respond to having a target on their backs. Repeating is easily the hardest thing to do in sports and the opposition will be a lot tougher and more determined to knock us off. Adding Pedro doesn't put the fear of God into anyone... If we get him I won't be disappointed but walking the league is a bit too presumptuous.
