1. I would bet good money there are a ton of players you've never heard of who are top players. Just a hunch... 2. What if he isn't? He has the raw tools to succeed under Jose's tutelage. big, strong, fast, will tackler and a worker... I see nothing that would lead me to believe he may be a bust. Brana is gonna be 32 at the end of this season, how long do you expect him to be in top form? Chelsea FC know more than you, we have people who actually watch these guys play every game. You have no knowledge of yet you feel its fit to comment on his fee? Why not wait until you see him play before you make an assessment on the valuation? I really don't understand why people routinely comment on things they know nothing about...

what a dumb statement... Pedro's release was set to entice bids because he wants to go! Rahman is considered one of the best young FB's in the game, he ticks all the boxes for a Jose Fullback we overpay so now so we don't have to 5 yrs from now.

So basically we signed the LB every big club in the world was after? Lovely
-
Looks every bit like a Jose type player when you look at his strengths!
-
I don't think you can judge todays market by what you've seen in the past. The game has changed DRASTICALLY from even as recently as 3 yrs ago.
-
Why wouldn't he?
-
Hands up if you've even seen him play 3 games.... Ya thought so.
-
Don't care about the money, we got the guy we wanted...
-
I feel like stones is gonna have to agitate a move. Does coming to Chelsea help or hurt his chances to play in the euro?

Arsenals kit this year doesn't have the ability to change and evolve, it is what it is. You can't assign the same principles to a rock as you would a river. In Kenedy's case, though it may well be an observation, it's being made on limited amounts of data. The kid is 19... Far from the stage where one can discern whether he has a "football brain". In fact I think we would be hard pressed to find any 19yr old who we can say with any real assertion has a football brain. I get where you are coming from greavsie, you are basically analyzing what you've seen. My point of contention is what aspects of his game are being analyzed. To me a 19 yr old should never be scrutinized for not having a football brain. I also don't thing in 45mins of football we can conclude much about technique. So many things could be factored into that influence one technique on a given day, two a day practices, playing out of position, nerves, confidence. In 45mins with limited amounts of actual touches it's just to premature to make those observations. And talent can be trained up, of course it can, it's just has its limitations within certain individuals. You can train(refine) ore to make steel and that same steel to make an engine. If you did the same with gold you would have a much more effective engine because gold is superior to steel. To say Kenedy can't improve his technique is just not accurate. Whether he can be trained into a hazard is another story. I don't believe we can turn kenedy into gold but I also don't know what raw materials we're working with at this point. What I was able to gather is he's fast and very strong for his age. He seems to work hard for the team. Technical stuff becomes easier for me to evaluate over a longer period, when a player isn't shellshocked from playing in his first game. I mean we all know cuadrado has amazing technique and he has yet to show it at Chelsea. Perhaps jibe is a poor choice of words when referring to your post Greavsie. I just think many people formulate opinions on limited data and due to their stubbornness and egos they hold onto that opinion well past the expiration date. You may not be that sort of poster and for that I apologize.

Regardless of how many times you've seen him play you are assigning traits to a player who is 19 and not even close to a finished article. What you've seen from him as a kid is not the measure of what he can do under Mourinho and with the instructions he assigns to him. I mean who knew Willian could be so valuable as a defender given what we've seen of him at Shakhtar? My point is the qualities you've seen in him at the international level or at Fluminense at the 19 and under age is not exactly enough data to formulate an opinion on a player.

Oscar will be used more in the 8, book it.
-
I think many here are jumping to way too many conclusions about what the player can and can't do... It was 45mins in a friendly, his first appearance for the club, I don't see how any jibes can be made about his technique or his footballing brain given the limited amount of time he's had on the pitch and most importantly working in our system. If you ask me to see a 19 yr old come in and work his ass off for the squad when his best skills are scoring goals, thats impressive. Now he has to build on that, this is nothing more than a good debut.
-
On his technique I'm not so sure we saw enough of him on the ball to comment on what he can/can't do. My amateur eye is telling me he played a pretty conservative game. The lukaku comparison is still bugging me, romelu's actual technique is well under what I think kenedy has. Having said that he must be doing something extremely well to get into the team ahead of traore and cuadrado. He looks like he's a player and we haven't even seen much of him yet.
-
But he's not a LB yet and there's little evidence to suggest he can be at this point. If he develops into a LB its a good thing because Brana isn't getting any younger, Cesar could move to RB and then its Ake and Baba fighting for mins on the left. He's only 20, no rush here at all
-
You don't think a loan would be better off for him? where he gets to play loads and learn the position?
-
Ake isn't even a LB. We're trying to convert him to one.
-
Meh... That sounds pretty dismissive to me.
-
So because you've never heard of him you're going to dismiss him? He was one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga last year... The fact that you've never heard of him doesn't mean the club hasn't been watching him. You guys probably only know 15% of the players clubs are tracking.
-
what he can do for use under the tutelage of Jose and our staff. And yes it would be incredible if he has a season that even remotely resembles one of his best!
-
Thank you Mo Salah!! http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/chelsea-on-verge-of-closing-deal-for-augsburg-left-back-baba/ Elated that this is close being executed.

Some fanboys are just new to the whole fanboy thing. Don't take it personal, I just look at the comments and laugh. This guy actually thinks that because he had to stay up past his bedtime to watch the game that he's justified in his whining.
-
Lol... Who held a gun to your head and told you you have to stay up and watch the first preseason game?? Hahaha
-
"Look up!! The sky is falling!!!" 5 straight two a days and players with varying levels of fitness. The names you use you can only use because you know they are normally class. They pressed a tired team mercilessly and got a couple lucky bounces... Nothing to cry about.
