if Lukaku had stayed & played as a starter, he could have been one, he would have improved on his " general play " as you put it.

One might ask, did Lukaku have any chance to play for Chelsea ? Now, he plays it gentlemanly & says " he asked " for a loan. Like fuck he asked for it.

Now, I read Otamendi likes to play a high line, so he can appear to be playing in defensive midfield, breaking up play & starting attacks. That´s common weakness of many defenders in PL, see Luiz & that might not sit well with Jose.
