  1. Well eventualy we will need two players to replace Willian AND Pedro. One is not consistent and other one is getting older. Mahrez would be very smart addition, whereas we will still add another one in future. The league is almost done, but we still have CL and cups, Mahrez would help us alot. IMO he can improve and be in the range of Kante, Mane type of signings.
  2. That was not a dive. There was clear touch but yes Hazard fell theatricaly. Still it was touch and penalty. If hazard didnt fell so dramaticaly ref might not call for spot.
  3. He signed extension, bvb representatives said it couple days ago...
  4. Yeah thats what we can hope for. Reality is Caroll is average player and he wont have any serious impact. We have been through the same with Ba, Remy and Bats. And they are better strikers. They just dont have the impact we expect. We need another Etoo. Someone experienced who played for big clubs, someone who may be past it, but his quality is still high.
  5. Its 15m. This is nothing today. If it doesnt work, we can easily add another midfilder of high quality and ship Barkley on loan and sell him for profit. I hope we dont hinder RLC chances though, I think he deserves a shot. But even so, I think RLC should be out on loan playing regulary next two years, so we can get something from Barkley. If it works great, we get cheap english player, if not he will be bench player. Bottom line we can sign another Vidal/Seri/Savic anytime if we want. If Barkley cost 30-40m that would be concern though. Then we have rather expensive midfielder and we cant just sign another one if it doesnt work.
  6. Andy Carrol? This surely is a joke right? I rather stick with Bats then. I was thinking we are targeting players like Willian Jose who can actualy surprise and play a part for us, not these bang average players like Carrol.
  7. I wish we made more signings like him. Not super expensive, coming from midtable clubs, good age, little hype and proven. You just knew it was good deal back then. No questions what he can do and if he can do this and that. He is brought to break attacks and he does it brilliantly. No one was asking if he can pass or control the ball etc unlike with Bakayoko. I think we have so many questions when we are signing players. Bakayoko...is he techincal enough, can he pass...Morata can he be main striker, if he has killer instinct. When you buy someone, you need to know he can do it. Striker to score goals, midfielder to tackle or create. And we are wondering if these players can even do their main job and basic football work like passing when we sign them... And its clear such players struggle more. The only thing you have to ask yourself is can he do it for our club, in our league. Not if striker can score on his own, if midfielder can pass and hold on the ball. Those are basics that are expected.
  8. This. Luiz adds character and grit to our side. He has that fire that pushes the team forward. It will be big miss for us if he is sold. He might have brainfarts in defence, so maybe midfield, but everyone rates him so poorly in midfield. I would love to use him next to Kante and Cesc for few games.
  9. Not fear. Its just stupid. Buying english midfielders who are average when we already have one here. But seeing Barkley would only cost 15m, thats a bargain. We have nothing to lose then.
  10. Well I agree we stepped on brake but Kante was pretty much top quality signing. Morata was example we are not afraid to fork big money either (70m isnt small amount). Besides when did Chelsea buy world class? Like truly established world class players or talents? Yes we signed quality defenders like Cole and Carvalho but Im positive we still can. If one thing, we can attract quality defenders. As it goes for other positions, Essien, Drogba, Anelka, Malouda,...they were good players but hardly proven. We make such buys in Bakayoko, Batshuayi,... Unfortunely some players dont have same impact as our previous generations. Lets be honest I can easily see Chelsea fork 80m for Lemar or Fekir in summer if we sell Pedro/Willian. But question is if they will deliver. Its a myth Chelsea could get Dybala or Griezmann in 2005. We were never as close to such players as we are now. Only difference is we spend less and we rather keep the players we have. Unfortunely some are realy underachieving.
  11. Why is there always drama around this club all the time? From signing players, to managers to contracts...its never simple and done quickly. Im not sure if I hate that or love it because its never boring.
  12. Drinkwater, Barkley and Bakayoko. Such skill and technique. If only we invested in proper midfileder and use RLC. Just imagine we are buying Drinks and Barkley, sell RLC, those two end up average and RLc turn into fine midfielder. We can just stop being involved in football then.
  13. Its just a seasonal form IMO. We miss these chances every game. Next season, same players could bury 90% of those same chances. There are seasons when nothing goes in and seasons when everything goes in. Im glad we at least create chances. Would be worried if we didnt at all.
  14. But Morata was never the main guy. Now he probably feels more pressure. Before he was a sub player and if he scored it was nice. Now he has to score since he is main striker. I think its all about confidence with him. He scored some amazing goals with feet, he is literaly complete striker. He can score long curved goals, headers, poacher goals,...but he isnt consistent. Back in juve in CL, he scored several quality goals on regular basis, he just took the shot, because why not. His kicking ability is amazing. Here, he has to score its expected from him. And it gets to him. When he is one on one, its expected to score and his confidence ruins him. IMO the harder chance to score, the more chance it is for him to score because he doesnt feel as much pressure as when 1v1. What I dont believe is when people say he just had off game against Arsenal. Thats just not true. His finishing is poor almost every game, its not day form thing. He has to get his confidence higher and he will have incredible potential. But its big question if he can do it. At the very worst he might never be someone to score every weekend, but someone who can score any time any how. Hopefuly he gets his confidence up before barca games.
  15. Im still upset after we conceded in final seconds haha But I realy dislike the hate towards Costa. Yes he was a problem figure, but that doesnt change the fact he scored 20 a season twice and guided us to two titles. Yet he is so underrated. He is along Drogba by far the best main striker we had since Jimmy. Thing with Costa was you knew he might throw tantrums if he wanted. But he was deadly in penalty area. With Morata, he does everything allright, but you know he will shot straight in gk or miss whole goal. Its extremely frustrating. Our striker has to be compared to Drobga, Costa or Kane, Aguero....not donkeys like Torres and Lukaku. Last year Costa broke down many attacks, but when he got a chance he took it. Morata now links up well with others, resulting in many chances, but his current ratio is one goal in 10 chances. Costas was 3 in 10. Meaning Morata has potential to score more goals than Costa but actualy ends up with less. Heading goals are quality but I dont want to rely on striker with only good heading. Time will tell, but I have feeling Morata will be world class second striker, not so much main one.
  16. Who gives a shit if he yells at them? Honestly? Is this problem of morality and Costa being bad character? If not, He fights for the team, thats his way of play. And most of the time he scores. He is deadly finisher, it obviously worked for him AND FOR US. We won two titles big thanks to him. Dont say he cost us damage haha, thats the biggest bullshit I would read here. "Than actualy scoring goals"...? Yes because he scored so few for us, right? And Morata complains to ref all the time too, he just missed everton game because of that 😂 and unlike Costa, Morata cards didnt have single positive influence on chelsea, while Costa rattled defenders all the time. Costa isnt perfect at all, but simply put he was deadlier striker than Morata is.
  17. i agree others need to score more yeah. But Im still more concerned about Morata being THIS poor infront of goal. He is main striker and needs to improve quickly. If Eden missed three sitters it would be hard to chew, but he isnt our main finisher. Its normal he would get different reaction. Eden main goal is to dribble and create. Morata is to finish. Its like Christensen had awesome game in defence but miss three sitters. He would still be hailed for top game. If Morata created 5 chances but missed 3 himself he would be blamed. Because he is striker and you expect striker to score. The situation was we had world class striker in Costa and we paid 70m for 25m striker who played in Real and Juve before. Same guy who benched Costa in national team. Surely you are patient, but there were big expectations. Morata now missed 14! clear chances, only Salah missed more (15).
  18. I thought he had fantastic game. Some brilliant reading of the game and execution of tackles.
  19. Now this was world class game. Saving our asses when we cant score, this is what Cech was doing in his prime all the time. I hope to see as few games like this because it would mean our defence gets penetrated all the time, but if they do, I hope Tibo to show more of this quality.
  20. To you Costa post january last season was shit, for me he still did his job. Scored some key goals and won some fouls that benefited us. I defended him back then and still do. Regarding second season, whole team was shit yes. But Costa was definateky still the best individual along Azpi and Willian. Torres was rather garbage, Morata is miles ahead, but that doesnt say much. Regarding Costa, check my old comments from end of last season, I always had high respect for him and always thought he did well, unlike most. I was probably the only one who wouldnt sell him and I questioned Conte for how he dealt with it. Talk about selective haha, at least I stand by my opinions unlike some here. People wanted to sell Costa who on form is absolutely world class but were butthurt about his spain comments. Now they have nice striker and again they arent happy. Wait a month or few, and if Morata doesnt improve, whole forum who was absolutely disgraceful towards Costa last summer will call for Morata name and pray to get someone like Costa.
  21. Besides why compare him to fucking Torres? Saying he is better than Torres doesnt say much does it? Just because he is better than Torres, doesnt make him quality striker and suitable for Chelsea, does it? Compare him with Drogba and Costa. Then you see how good or bad he is. I said back in may people will regret shitting on Costa and wanting nice calm striker. Costa was reliable and quality striker for three seasons, yet fans disrespected him and wanted to get rid of him at all cost for someone more lovable. Karma at its finest, now we have one.
  22. Reality is probably this; Good player. Glad we never paid the 75m for Lukaku. Still needs to be upgraded on. Frankly, if you want titles, playing with main striker like Morata wont do the trick. Maybe as second striker. Chelsea has very specific system and we rely heavily on striker finishing. He is quality player with great heading and link up, but awful finishing. Im just saying, for now its allright, but if he doesnt improve his feet, he can be best header in the world with good linkup, but he wont be even close to our starting MAIN striker. I always saw him as second striker, thats why I was hoping we would keep Costa and play both, so he has future here one way or another. But I couldnt care less about my main strikers linkup abilities if he fucks up three clear goals.
  23. To be honest, Im not the one to blast our players but I have to say Im dissapointed and worried about Morata. Fair enough, he is rather brilliant in linkup and passing, also decent dribbler. Fantastic header. BUT he is our main striker and his feet and mentality are absolute disaster. He is unreliable, extremly unreliable. I like striker to be allround. But his first and main job is to score and finish off chances. Morata is not doing that. He failed vs Roma, he failed vs Atletico, he failed today and probably we can find just about 10 other games where he missed perfect one on ones. Costa was hated for all the shit, but in the end he scored those goals. He would score all three that Morata missed, you and I and everyone else knows it. We would win comfortably. Not saying Costa didnt miss sitters, but hell not even close to this many. He might not even get in position or lost the ball earlier, but what good Morata gets from his other abilities if he ends up missing the chance? Bottom line Morata good or not, we need RELIABLE striker upfront. Simple as that. Right now Morata isnt even close to reliable and its understood he should be benched. We just dont have anyone better. But its clear now why Real sold him so easily. The guy turns in potato infront of goal. That cant be trained or tought. He is such character. At 25 its not much you can change. He can practice all day, when he goes up against Cech in real match, it will be same old story. And right now he under a lot of pressure and probably thinks about all the missing chances. Given he isnt strong character, expect more of sitters missed by him in next games. Its just sad truth, but he is awfuly awfuly unreliable striker. Good thing is we can always play him as second striker along someone who can actualy score. The goals he scored hide the fact how awful he actualy is infront of goal. 10% scoring ratio is below average when quality strikers have 30-35%. It says it all. But hey I dont hate him at all. He is still a good player in the end. However I want striker that can be relied upon. A striker that will bury the chance when he gets one. They win you games. And if Morata cant do it, bench him. Its costing us big points.
  24. Our summer business is looking more and more average. Not only we didnt bring necessary upgrades for wings, we also spent 110m on Morata and Bakayoko, both who seem to need upgrade half year later. I had big faith in both, but where do they have any balls? Bakayoko shown glimpses of brilliance, his tackles and turnovers and runs have been impressive but there were so many 50:50 challenges where he looked lost, unprepared or simply scared. Morata has great techical ability and great body abilities, he is tall, quite strong, fast and agile, yet he turns into one big pussy infront of goal. You can see it in his eyes when he misses the chance. Top strikers dont give a shit, they just shoot and shoot again. Problem is what he has in head he cant change. You can practice in training all day long, chance aginst Cech in real game is something else. Maybe its time to consider playing him as second striker and we buy someone like Icardi. The most awful of it all is we ditched Matic and Costa and expected to replace them, and so we could focus on another midfielder, backup striker and lwb. Now we still need those, but if Morata and Bakayoko wont work, we need improvements on those two again... About the game, apart from missing all those chances, yeah it was fucking great idea to invite arsenal bombing us for final 5min instead of organising a slow attack to push them back. Fucking hell. Just score own goal next time its gonna be quicker.
