That is true but if we really to rid ourselves of that reputation, then we need to do a lot better than just sticking with the manager till end of the season. Otherwise, sacking Mourinho next May (god I hope not because that would mean we stay rubbish till May) is not much of a difference to when we sack Ancelotti after one poor season.

Indeed. Out of our next 8 league games, think we'll pick up only 9 points. Anything more seems like a bonus right now.

And our next 4 away games - Spurs, Leicester, Man United and Crystal Palace (YIKES!). On current form, we'll probably get nothing from those games.

This idea of Mourinho 'trading' players for the Premier League and League Cup titles seems somewhat cheap (especially on hindsight), don't you think? It's almost as if you had predicted we would be struggling this badly after we sold Mata, De Bruyne (he might not even have developed in the same way he did had he stayed), Lukaku etc and got Costa, Fabregas etc. We strolled to success last season (and even blew teams away from August till December; no one was complaining about this then) and even if we weren't unable to match that this time around, no one would have expected us to be sitting in 16th with 7 defeats in first 12 games (you would be lying if you did). If anything, the problem isn't about selling/buying certain players. It's about us not strengthening the squad with quality reinforcements in the summer and Mourinho for the poor way he's managed the squad - not keeping the squad competitive, not introducing fresh/different ideas.

Subjective opinion. Think it also says a lot that you are using other factors and not the players' performances to judge them.

What's the point of sacking him after it's mathematically impossible to quaify for the Champions League? The chances of us finishing in the top 4 are already low at this point but there's still a chance. If the club are really concerned about getting into the competition, then sack him now and hope his replacement can get us into it with 26 games left. Otherwise, back him all the way, even after the failure to qualify for the Champions League.

So you are using the number of games they play to judge whether they are good or not? That's really clutching at straws. Compare to Pedro, Fabregas hardly had much of an impact or made much of a difference while playing for Barcelona. Again, you're clutching at straws to say Willian and Oscar are good players just because they're starters for Brazil. Anyone who watches them regularly will know they are just decent at best. And you must be confusing yourself regarding this Brazil and the past ones. The current side are nowhere near the quality of the previous teams. You can practically count the number of the really good players they have with one hand.

Defining 'good players' can be or is very subjective. Those players you named there are decent but good? Not really and using the 'ex Barcelona players, starting for NT' is kinda of a weak argument. Only Pedro was significant for Barcelona (at least till Suarez showed up). Fabregas was in and out of the team. Willian and Oscar starting for Brazil do not mean much, especially when they lack quality players in their ranks. Have to just settle for the next best thing.
