  2. C'mon Tomo. Players lose form from time to time but that doesn't take away he's great as the No.10 and we shouldn't also forget that we played nearly 70 games(!) that season. Not saying he can't play in other positions. He can but he's way better when utilized in the No.10 position.

  4. Maybe if De Bruyne/Mata had gotten the minutes Oscar got, things would have turned out differently... There is that but then again, you conveniently left out the part where he hasn't been playing in his best position for years. Having seen what he can do in that position for us, you would be lying to say that he wouldn't do better as the No.10 than Oscar, Willian and even Hazard.
  5. What's the difference with De Bruyne's case? Both he and Mata were ultimately ditched because they apparently didn't work hard enough. And regarding Mata, I don't think Mourinho even played him once in the No.10 position - his best position. Had he done that, he might have actually realized how good he is, wouldn't have sold him AND we wouldn't look like headless chickens in the final third.

  8. It's similar to what happened just 2 seasons ago in the group containing Dortmund, Napoli, Arsenal and Marseille. The first 3 teams there ended up with 12 points each but Napoli got KOed due to their inferior H2H record.
  9. Asking the board for players is one thing but making sure the right players are available is another. Most, if not all, the top transfer targets won't be available in January. Gotta play it carefully or otherwise, we'll end more up with duds like Salah, Cuadrado, Torres etc.
  10. Yeah. Our record there in recent years has been pretty poor. 1 win in last 9 league visits to the Lane (D4 L4). We didn't lose a single match in the first 14 trips (W9 D5) in the Premier League era.

  15. Chelsea v Porto, Olympiacos v Arsenal and Wolfsburg v Man United in two week's time. Should be fun. We only need a draw to qualify. Arsenal must win by at least 2 goals OR a 1 goal margin of 3-2 or higher to go through. United have to win to guarantee qualification. Otherwise, they will have to rely on the result in PSV v CSKA Moscow. City, on the other hand, look set to finish second in the group. Juventus only need 1 point against Sevilla to seal first place.

  17. That only works in the fantasy leagues. Officially, it doesn't and that Opta definition clearly only refers to players setting up his/her team-mates to score, not the opposition players.

  20. Willian only has 1 assist actually - the one against Aston Villa. Didn't get the one yesterday because Cahill's initial shot was saved by the keeper before he slotted in the rebound. It only counts as an official assist if the final pass directly leads to the recipient scoring a goal, which wasn't the case against Maccabi Tel-Aviv since the keeper was the last person to touch the ball before Cahill scored. Wow. We must be pretty desperate to count those as assists...
