The player and whoever else are involved will just laugh it off, particularly if the player (or others) knows where he is going - whether it's to us or Monaco. Yes, we all knew City were going in a positive direction - they were always gonna be under Guardiola - but that's not the point, Tomo. The point is Guardiola failed to adapt to what he had. It's all good and easier when you have the players that you want, but when you don't have them, you gotta show a different side by adapting and becoming flexible. Not saying Guardiola should have started playing pragmatic football like Mourinho and gone against his football philosophy but he could and should have tweaked his approach to ensure his team were less exposed on the defensive side of things but he didn't.
