  1. Not getting a shot on target against them was definitely rubbish and unforgivable but what I would say is, they are at least OKAY-ish at home. They did thrash Spurs and draw with Liverpool. It's away from home where they are always found wanting.
  2. A back 3 formation? Get Conte in for the game!
  3. Put your money on Aguero getting his usual goal against us!
  4. Since you like comparing the two so much, have you forgotten how bad De Gea was when he first came to England (not that I'm implying or saying Kepa has been bad)? Sure, De Gea has done well overall for Man United all these years but the only reason why he has caught the eye so often is because United concede a lot of shots (a lot more than the other top sides), forcing De Gea to continuously make saves (some his own good work, some because of shit finishing). Is it really a good thing when your keeper has to make so many saves? This league season alone, United have conceded 13.1 shots per game and De Gea has had to make 90 saves overall - second highest in the league. Us? 8.9 shots per game - third lowest in the league - and Kepa has made 52 saves - fifth lowest but more than Alisson and Ederson, keepers of the current top two sides. Kepa, Alisson, Ederson etc all do make good saves but they just don't get much attention because their team do not put them under pressure all the time. If your definition of a "top class" keeper is only about the saves one makes, then guess everyone except Fabianski, who has made the most saves this season, are bad? Think majority are pretty happy with Kepa's performance so far. You're the only one who seems to be upset about Kepa because he hasn't made the saves you want him to make.
  5. Is it really good positioning though when opponents just shoot to where he's at? He's got good reflexes when having to save low with his feet/hands but shoot high to either side and then you've got problems with him. As for Kepa, he's been solid overall for someone in his first season and if you look at some of the games earlier this season, he actually made some really good saves. People have praised him accordingly and don't think anyone is blowing the trumpet about being him world class yet. So, I'm not even sure why you're bringing Kepa out of the nowhere into the discussion.
  6. If say we had beaten Leicester, Southampton and Bournemouth, we would then be sitting in 2nd and only 3 points behind Liverpool!
  7. Every keeper will have it easy if opposing players keep on shooting straight at them...
  8. United only 2 points behind us. Ugh! No doubt they will be above us by the end of next weekend!
  9. Bournemouth v Chelsea POSSESSION %: 32 - 68 RESULT: 4-0 Cardiff v Bournemouth POSSESSION %: 27 - 73 RESULT: 2-0 #possessionisoverrated
  10. Forgive me for remaining unconvinced. Do it against less accommodating opponents than Huddersfield and consistently and then we'll see. Besides, Huddersfield tried to press us and because they weren't very good at it, they left space for us to exploit.
  11. I did credit Sarri for that game but ironically, it was more of the counter-attack football that we saw under Conte/Mourinho than Sarri's own football and it was one game, ONE game. What about the other games when the opponents countered our system, our tactics and Sarri did nothing to change things? Even AVB had his moments back in the 2011/12 season.
  12. Think that piece is slightly missing the point. Asking Plan B from Sarri doesn't mean we want him to ditch his style and start playing Route 1 football. It's more gotta do with his tactical alterations, his ability to read the game and make changes. How many times have we sat here over the last 2-3 months and highlighted the fact opponents have sussed us out - 'stop Jorginho, stop Chelsea' for example - but Sarri has done nothing whatsoever to counter the opponents' tactics? Look at Guardiola, he plays his football every game but he also makes little tactical tweaks here and there with the opposition in mind. With Sarri, if anything goes wrong, blame it on the players' mentality, motivation. Sarri may have a point with that but it's become a cheap cop-out for him and his stubborn tactics because of what's happened in the past.
  13. Didn't you also abuse Azpi during the game?
  14. I'll be a jerk and say we scored 1 from the penalty spot, 1 from corner, 1 from outside the box which took a deflection and that leaves only 2 of the goals coming inside the box. Didn't like create a lot of chances, did we?
  15. Well, you made it sound as if we should be extremely pleased that we scored 5 against Huddersfield... First, it's 1-goal margin defeats and now, it's about conceding more than twice. Make up your mind, Tomo!
  16. Manchester City 6-0 Chelsea PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2018/19 Premier League Matchweek 26 10th February, Sunday, 2019 Etihad Stadium 16:00 Kick Off (UK time)
  17. Most of their defeats are usually by 1 goal? Just checked and actually, 9 of their 18 league defeats have been by more than 1 goal. C'mon Tomo. Are you seriously claiming some sort of moral win over putting 5 past Huddersfield?!
  18. He's happy with that apparently...
  19. The run we're in is very similar to the one we had last season... In 2017/18 L 0-3 Bournemouth L 1-4 Watford W 3-0 West Brom (bottom of the table) L 1-2 Man Utd L 0-1 Man City In 2018/19: L 0-2 Arsenal L 0-4 Bournemouth W 5-0 Huddersfield (bottom of the table) ❔ X-X Man City ❔ X-X Spurs
  20. Important 3 points and a good boost to the GD. But let's not get carried away, it was Huddersfield who are sitting bottom of the table and they were terrible. We were expected to win and we did. The challenge, as always, is to put together a run of consistent results and performances. Let's see how we do against Man City (twice!), Man United, Spurs in the coming weeks!
  21. If Kante is still gonna push forward in a 4-2-3-1, then why even bother playing that? If Sarri can't make tactical alterations, can't make players work in a system - which is already proving to be the case - then he definitely won't be here for long. Digging his own grave.
  22. It's kinda ironic, isn't it? The board got Sarri in to change our style moving forward but the manager himself isn't quite in-tuned with the board's long term plan on the players.
  23. Sarri mentioned recently that he does have 4-2-3-1 in his mind and since 4-3-3 isn't working, why not try the former? And no, 4-2-3-1 may well give the team a better balance because you have two fellas screening the defence and gives the full backs a better platform to go forward. You saw the game on Wednesday? Only 3 players stayed back while everyone was caught high up the pitch when Bournemouth broke. Kante can't or won't be getting forward as much because otherwise, we'll just end up with another Matic-Fabregas situation.
