For starters, I don't even know why people got annoyed with my initial post. Basically said am curious to see how will Jorginho fare outside Sarriball aka under the new manager (after all, the new manager will have his own ideas etc, different from Sarri, Mancini). Yes, he might do well for Italy but (this isn't a slight on him or anything) we have seen players do well for the NT team but not for the club and I only care about Chelsea here, I want to see Jorginho do well for us. There are worse opinions on him from others out there...

Will not understand why people even suggest Eddie Howe...

Chelsea unwilling to meet Willian's contract demands as negotiations rumble on

Funny that Derby are suddenly making all the noises when they were so quiet in previous weeks...

That happened after all the drama yesterday?!

Lee Bowyer not extending his contract with Charlton. One of the names mentioned to replace Lampard at Derby apparently?

You interpret whatever you want, however you want. My point was/is I'm simply intrigue to see how will Jorginho fare outside Sarri's system FOR US, especially when he's been playing in that for so long AT CLUB LEVEL. Stated it from the beginning. Not sure how that got translated to 'Jorginho relies on Sarri's system'. Not sure if it's confirmation bias or you just like getting worked up and having a go at anyone who sees your Sarri in bad light...

Zola will reportedly leave the club after turning down an ambassadorial role. Was clearly brought in to help Sarri to settle in the Premier League etc.

There have been/are players who do better for their national team than their club. Just because you said he does well for Italy, I have to take your word for it? Not even sure where you're going with this or why you're getting worked up. Jorginho has mostly been associated with Sarriball in recent years. So is it wrong to just wonder how he'll fare outside of it? For the record, I have never liked or disliked Sarri. Just found his tactics and approach to be one dimensional and even restrictive. And yeah, I know you don't agree with this. So, whatever...

Pardon me if I don't care about international football. Only care about how players do for us.

United are going for 'weird' transfers...

The board knew they were going to sack Conte back then and it's only the disagreement over the payout that dragged on till July. So it's obvious that they had needed to go for a replacement. Different case with Sarri, who the board didn't mind keeping but also willing to let go as long as Juventus pay up the compensation, which of course they did. Would have been awkward if Sarri to Juventus suddenly didn't happen and we still had a manager while busy chasing for a new one. Unless Marina decides to go all stingy (again) with the compensation, it should be straightforward considering it will cost only £4 million to get Lampard and that's £1 million less than what we reportedly received from Juventus for Sarri.

Moving this to the Football Banter section...

When was the last time the board did something in an efficient manner? They were likely sorting out the situation with Sarri and Juventus in past weeks and now that he's confirmed gone, they can move on to securing his replacement.

Just because we haven't made the approach, doesn't mean we aren't 100% sure on Lampard. Lots of reports stated we'll make the move this week. And besides, we just like to take our own sweet time...

Is there really a difference? You practically still predicted a difficult situation that may or may not happen. Lampard is a riskier appointment than most at this point but at the same, he offers something new, fresh and brings a different level excitement, intrigue. If we were to go with one of the other managers mentioned - Allegri, Blanc, Gracia etc - it would feel like more of the same. Said it previously, we have gone with more experienced/successful managers in the past and gotten nowhere with it. Maybe going with someone up-and-coming, someone with fresh ideas might just be the thing that will help move us forward. Plus, given the nature of this job, does Lampard really have much to lose? Past managers have come and gone and still gotten jobs elsewhere. If Lampard doesn't do well, he can point to the difficult circumstances. If he does well, it will only enhance his reputation. Obviously, we're in a difficult situation right now but since when has Lampard not loved a challenge and proved people wrong? Also, success doesn't have to be about winning trophies all the time. With our current situation, if Lampard can rebuild the squad, integrate young players, lay the foundation for the future, then I think he would have done more than good and be considered a success. If we have to take a step back and suffer to take two-three steps forward, then so be it. It's about F time we press the reset button rather than trying to patch things up with a band-aid and play along without actually going in any direction.

Oh for the love of god! Yes, we know Lampard is a risky appointment, riskier than usual, but can people just stop predicting all doom and gloom before anything has even happened?! He might do badly or he might even do well! No one knows right now! So, how about we see what happens before passing judgment?
