2019/20 Premier League Match 2

Apart from the penalty miss against Frankfurt last season, Azpi has always been clinical from the spot for us. Was a tad curious why he wasn't one of the first five takers.
True but we have won European competitions far less than the Premier League or FA Cup. So to lose the last 3 is frustrating, especially the last 2 came via a shootout defeat.
Fair assessments. What about the one against City in the League Cup final? Can't remember who it was but he also allowed one to squeeze past his hand. A tad worried it might become a thing going forward. I mean, he actually has a decent record of guessing the correct side in penalty situations (can't save them all obviously) but it's kinda wasteful if you do that and not save a number of the penalties.
lol I'm not saying he's shit. Just find it frustrating.
Do you think Origi's and Salah's penalties were struck too well for him to save or he should have saved at least one of them?
Tammy offers good movement and pace upfront but apart from that, I find him slightly underwhelming as he doesn't really offer much else. And I know he's still young but he's really gotta score some of the opportunities he's been getting.
Hit the woodwork
Created chances but can't score
Goals ruled out for offside
Defensive mistakes
Missed last penalty
Keeper failed to save a penalty
Only 2 games into the new season!
Third point is clearly down to interpretation, then. Could easily have gone against us IMO.
Pretty sure it's because Christensen was too close to the ball. If he had been few yards further away and it hit his hand, then I think the ref would have given the penalty.
Biggest difference from Sunday tonight is we're pressing far less aggressively and dropping back whenever we lose the ball to deny Liverpool any space behind. Have looked far more secured defensively...so far.
