  1. Lampard said he trusts the young players and he started 3 against Valencia. Okay. But one went off injured and he suddenly turned to experience? I mean sure, Pedro has way more CL experience than Pulisic but at the same time, Pulisic has more CL experience than Mount, Abraham, Tomori combined. Since it's about experience, then Lampard really contradicted himself there.
  2. Lampard's explanation on why Pulisic didn't play yesterday was peculiar to say the least.
  3. I have no idea why you keep talking about merit when it's not even the point but let's get this straight. I have no issues with Mount starting. He's been playing well and he deserves it. I just have problems if we become heavily reliant on a player again. We didn't like it when we relied solely on Hazard. So if it happens again, then it's not ideal for us to say the least. OR had Pedro not put in a stinker of a performance. He actually started the season well before the injury derailed him.
  4. You mean the Pulisic who actually did well against Liverpool last month? I know he hasn’t been great overall but why I do sense some sort of apprehension from you on Pulisic?
  5. Do you think I’m not aware of that? My point is, I do not want us to be a one man team! If we are going to fall to pieces when someone is out, which the initial post seemed to suggest, then we are fucked.
  6. I meant from the start of the 2015/16 KO stage.
  7. Our Champions League record has been a dumpster fire ever since the 2015/16 KO stage started. - Only 3 wins in 11 games and 2 of them were against Qarabag. - 1 win in last 7, 0 wins in last 4 games. (1 win since that 2-1 at Atletico under Conte) - Only kept 2 clean sheets in that 11-game run, both against Qarabag. - Overall, P11 W3 D3 L5 (vs 11 games prior to that - W6 D4 L1 + 5 clean sheets)
  8. Think we safely say we won't keep a clean sheet in this one, aye?
  9. It was but Kepa should have saved that.
  10. Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS 2019/20 Premier League Match 6 22nd September, Sunday 2019 Stamford Bridge 16:30 Kick Off (UK time)
  11. Lampard put him as first PK taker? Fine. But putting him as the first one is laughable when he has never been a regular taker in his career.
  12. Scoring a penalty in pre-season means zilch, isn't it? It's just like how Barkley performed well in pre-season and then suddenly turned bad once the season started. And for argument's sake, Lampard putting Barkley as the first choice PK taker is just bad management. He isn't first choice in the XI and more importantly, he isn't a regular taker either. To put on him first is just nonsense.
  13. There's a pen order. So if he's on the pitch he takes it... Why does it matter if he's a starter or not. The rest of them need to respect the order. If he's not on the pitch no 2 has it. Simple Because there is a reason he isn't first choice? I just don't buy Lampard's explanation here. He obviously wasn't going to throw Barkley under the bus but he clearly was trying to protect him. On top of that, Barkley's last penalty was 3 years ago and he's suddenly the first choice to take it and take it in a high pressure situation? I'm sorry, I just don't buy it.
  14. Barkley isn't even first choice but suddenly becomes the first choice PK taker when he's on the pitch? Okay Frank...
  15. Valencia and Wolves created very little and still ended up scoring 3 goals against us, with 2 of them being relatively clear cut. I'm pleased we've looked defensively better with the 3-4-3 but if Lampard is simply playing that system to cover our defensive problems without actually working on fixing them, then we've got big problems here. You talked about Azpi and Alonso but what about Willian? He got into the final third so many times but played hopeless balls and made horrendous decisions every single time!
  16. Tons of half chances or tons of clear cut chances? It's certainly more of the former at the moment. We were just super clinical with them on Saturday.
  17. Scoring 5 goals was great but the first goal was a bolt from the blue and the second and third goals were also down to individual errors. We didn't exactly cut Wolves apart with brilliant passing football, did we? We were just super clinical on Saturday.
  18. It doesn't have to be strictly that in terms of position and it wasn't the case. We were just a giant mess in attack.
  19. It's only 2 games but the more I look at our 3-4-3, the more I feel like it's being used solely to protect us defensively more than anything else. Don't look to have any cohesion or decisiveness when going forward.
  20. I thought we went to 4-4-2 late on Looked 3-4-3 to me with Azpi playing as the RCB of the 3 and Pedro occupying the RWB role.
  21. My point is if we're basically fucked if we become a one-man team again and are heavily reliant on a 20-year-old to be good!
  22. Played there after Giroud came on and still did F all.
  23. Mount has done well but if we're relying on a 20-year-old to be good, then Lampard has got questions to answer!
